    Hi all,

    I just stumbled upon an annoying problem which had never happened before.

    Please assume that I know how to set directories and all the basic stuff like don't intall into SSE folder bla bla bla. I have made enough mistakes and I have grasped the most basic of installation and setting the directories using this awesome mod manager. LOOT, SKSE64, Bodyslide, SSEEDIT, FNIS are all covered. No problem with those.

    I am having entirely new issue (at least for me).

    When installing mods using MO2, it goes like this;

    1) Install mod.
    2) Tick the mod on the modlist (left panel).
    3) The plugin will appear on the pluginslist (right panel).
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4) Let say I have installed 100 mods with esps/esls and ticked them all, there will be 100 plugins right? Without moving the vanilla plugins which are skyrim.esm and the gang.

    Here is the first issue;

    a - somehow, the plugins went funny. normally skyrim esm, update, and the 3 vanilla DLCs are intact at top of the list.

    b - but now, whenever I tick the mods especially when I enable many of them at once, the plugins list went haywire, like skyrim.esm went to the middle of the plugins list and the mods overtook them. this has never happened when I used MO2 before. This is an odd occurance.

    5) Sort them using LOOT (not the integrated LOOT in MO2) does solve the problem where the LOOT will rearrange the plugins.

    From here, the 2nd issue;

    a - Let say I have sorted my 100 plugins, and I want to add more mods. I repeat step 1 - 3. (whooosh)

    b - Guess what, all the plugins disabled themselves and rearrange their order like in step 4.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Third issue with the modlist;

    One of the most fundamental thing to do is to make sure the plugins are LOOTED properly, but at the same time we must make sure the modlist on the left panel are arranged accordingly to avoid CTD, like correct overwrite and mod prioritisation such as USSEP being at the top of the list, XPMSE being at the most bottom before FNIS to avoid funny business and so on.

    When I first used this MM, after I have arranged my modlist and restart MO2, the arrangement will be intact. Meaning that if my arrangement was;

    B
    C
    F
    T
    E
    A

    It will remain this way, but now, after restart,

    A
    B
    C
    E
    F
    T

    Meaning it rearrange accordingly to the alphabetic order. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE INSULT!!! It's KILLING MY SOUL LITERALLY!!! It's like this MM is making fun of me.

    To solve this, I have to backup the modlist. But that's not the point. What happened to it's normal function where it does not rearrange my order?

    Can you guys help me?

    P.S: Recently I used Creation Kit to convert my armor mods to .esl. Well, I wanted to break the 255 limit as I have so much mods to try. Was this action of mine the cause of the chaos I'm experiencing now?

    Thanks. Please help me.

    Hi all,
    Have just stumbled across this, is it still relevant.
    Have just started to use MO2 with SSE.
    Game seems to be working fine, but I only have thirty mods.

    Hey, I need help!
    I can launch MO and all my mods get launched, but when I run Loot, SSEEdit and FNIS they don't see my mods, only vanilla. Can you help me?

      Sorry for the late response... I haven't been on in a while.

      The only thing I can think of is, are you launching loot, SSEEdit and FNIS through MO? Since MO uses a virtualized file system, the mods aren't actually moved into the Skyrim folder path... therefore, none of the tools listed above will see them if ran outside of MO.

    ok I admit I need serious help (with MO /MO2 )

    firstly which is the one to use for SSE?next here is where I am atSSE in installed and working in my computer in.. apps...\common\SSE my old Skyrim is "next" to it which should be fine yes? as are all my other games (in...\common\various games) from steam(and I have the one from already having bought "Legendary all DLC's etc (so free)

    ok with / with out MO my game runs great about 70 mods and such as AFT ported by me and most all others ported by their authors BUT when I run MO it never sees the SSE says the .exe file needs to be in the directory which it IS! the game runs great saw someone's comment "oh just select the "old" Skyrim showing in the selection box (as is OBLIV and MORRO) ok did that and it says it can not "read" about a dozen and a half of the mods there, but shows them in both the right and left panels ??? also everytime I hit that "link to NMM" to downoad files from the nexus it fails says that I need to click the link button to make MO download..... sheeshand I followed every step by step on /from Gopher's video tut.

    My old Skyrim MO installation works PERFECT so what am I missing??? or do I need MO2 and oh when I download that and try it the "Qt5" files are missing and even searching the web and all I can NOT find a 64 bit version TONS of 32 bit but no 64ANY help is greatly appreciated.

    oh do I have to join Bethnet for this all to work? it is in the mod selection window with the warning that mods will "f" up my game (yet they host many mods) go figureagain Thanks up front for any help.I have read every read me (but the right one) so what am I missing?

      OK, sorry for the late response but, twas the season and all.

      As for your questions: (I'm no expert, but here goes)

      Yes, Skyrim and Skyrim SE are two Separate games and work independently of each other. (And if you have the Legendary edition or all DLCs, then yes, it's free)

      Don't use the old MO for SSE, use MO2. Google it and grab it from Tannin's site (Beta3 is the latest and final from Tannin on https://github.com/TanninOne/modorganizer/releases)

      Install MO2 to wherever you want. (remember the location for the next step)
      Download the "TESVSE Plugin for Mod Organizer 2" by Archost on Nexusmods.
      Extract this plugin and put the game dll file in plugins folder of Mod Organizer 2 (where you installed it)
      Run MO2 and select Skyrim Special Edition
      After which, you just need to install your mods.

      (note: I noticed there is now a Mod Organizer on NexusMods, however I haven't downloaded it or used it yet, so it may be a replacement for the above steps... the above process is what I use and it works well.)

      Also, unless the new MO download on Nexusmods covers this as well, if you want to avoid some headaches, download my batch and follow the setup instructions. (i.e. extract the zip contents to your Mod Organizer profile)

      With Skyrim SE: You have to install and sort your mods in MO2, then launch Skyrim SE and re-active (and possibly sort) all your mods in the game menus again before you can use them. With my batch script it will replace the plugins.txt file used by SkyrimSE with the contents of MO2's load list, and places a asterisk(star) next to all the mods so they'll already be active and sorted in Skyrim SE without having to do it manually. (Please read my mod main page for full details and warnings before using. Nothing detrimental, just things you'll need to be aware of before using.)

      I never ran into issues with Tannin's beta3 version and it runs both 64 and 32 bit Skyrim versions. (i.e. Skyrim and SkyrimSE)

      I don't know if you have to join Bethnet as I was already a member. I think you may have to in order for mods to load as it tries to use that initially... but if you have mods preloaded, sorted and activated, they should show up in the mods when you go to "sort load order" or whatever they called it in SkyrimSE. The mods will not show up on the main Mods page in SkyrimSE as they are not being installed by Bethesda. Only in the sort list.

      I hope this helps to answer your questions. Happy Gaming.

      AceVanquish & Tonytomato:

      MO2 doesn't update the Plugins.txt file which SSE uses to control plugin load order & activation. What that means is after you install your mods in MO2, sort your load order in the right pane, and launch the game, SSE doesn't know or care what your MO2 load order said; anything that wasn't already activated in-game previously will be deactivated, and anything not 'active' will be alphabetized. So you have to re-sort and re-activate every new plugin, every time. This gets old pretty quick. Also when you exit the game, your right pane of MO2 will be alphabetized, which I don't think actually "matters" per se, but it's misleading.

      If I understand the author's intention here, it's a BAT file that you run after each time you change your load order in MO2, to force the game's Plugins.txt to match what MO2's load order says, both for load order and which plugins are active (though as his warning states, it will assume any plugins listed in MO2 are all active). It adds an extra step before you launch the game with a new load order, but should save a lot of aggravation.

      I haven't had a chance to test it yet though; IgnusLupin, please do correct me if I'm wrong.

      AsatorThundrGod: Thank you for the excellent description, that's EXACTLY what it does and why I posted it. With the limitation of 5-10 mods at a time, having to copy, paste, and add the * to each ESP after each change/addition is frustrating. It's bad enough having to do it for a Small Load Order... but having to do this over and over again to load 150 mods, or 250+ mods... well, you get the idea.

      I tested the batch several times before posting and everything "looks" good but any testing and constructive criticism would be appreciated as I can only test it so much on my end. The paths in the batch should be universal, as long as it's copied into EACH MO profile you want to use it with (with a separate shortcut for each, of course), and it should save a TON of aggravation... I hope.

      I try to be on NexusMods daily and I'll do my best to answer any question, but my 8-5 J.O.B. keeps me pretty busy during the day. Thanks again to AsatorThundrGod for the assist with the description.

      Didn't the main developer from mod organizer just leave and join NMM? Leaving a message that there would be no more support for it which basically means that it will be going the way of the dinosaur unless someone awesome steps in and takes over?

      Actually, Yes, Tannin42 has been hired on by NexusMods to revamp/rewrite NMM from scratch and "hopefully" incorporate all the best parts of each into one cohesive application. However, others have already taken up the torch and are continuing to do what they can to get MO2 working with Skyrim SE as best as possible so we, those who use MO/MO2 religiously for Bethesda products, can still continue utilizing the virtual file/folder structure of MO2 until the new Nexus Mod Manager is release... which could be tomorrow or could be in 2 years... who knows.

    Does anyone else have the issue with downloading through MO2 with this plugin?

    It works well for me but anytime I download it will go to 100% hang for a bit than say paused. I can dl manually and query the info, but it seems like it hangs on the query at the 100% mark if you dl through MO.

      stahpk,
      I'm not sure if your referring to downloading this file into the MO2 download location or trouble with MO2 downloading after you started using this batch but I can assure you, this batch only affects the plugins.txt file in your "%Appdata%\Skyrim Special Edition" folder in your user profile and literally nothing else. I've ran into various issues periodically with MO2 but that's related to it being a beta and if you wish to elaborate on what's happening, I'll happily provide advice if it's something I've run across.

      Hiya,

      So if i am on the SSE nexus site, click on "Download with Manager" it starts to download, gets to 100% in MO2, sits there for a bit and than switches to Paused. If I say download manually put it in my dl location and query it, that works fine. So initially I thought it was getting stuck in querying but that doesnt seem to be the case.

      I also use MO2 with FO4 separately and that works fine. I'm just unsure why its doing it.

      Here is some information, let me know if i can grab another log from somewhere else

      You know, I'm not certain why the "Download with Manager" option isn't working for you. I personally haven't used it since I started using Mod Organizer 2 with SSE since it didn't work at all initially and I got used to just downloading manually to the MO2 Download folder for my SSE instance.

      So... I can't think of a fix for your issue however, if you haven't already, I would recommend you update to the latest (0.1.4a) MO2 game plugin.
      http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1725

      If you have already updated it to 0.1.4a and are still running into issues, then I would add a bug report for that mod so Archost can take a look at it.

      Sorry, I couldn't be of more help with this... wish I had a quick fix for you.

      Thanks man will try it.

      I had the same problem with getting it to download until I realized that using the associate button in MO2 doesnt work for SSE. But if you click on the nxmhandler.exe and run it directly it worked. I added SSE as an other and changed Other to say skyrimse.

      Thanks for the help, not a biggy as I do the same and manually download then query. Appreciate the help.

      That's actually on my list... I'd like the link in MO as well, so I know where you're coming from. I'm just currently fighting with LOOT 10.0 and MO2 not playing well together. The MO2 Load Order doesn't want to update after a LOOT no matter what I do.

      Anyhow, after I figure that out, I'll be working on getting the Batch to work inside MO2.
