THANK YOU! I've been annoyed that I can't ask for specialized lessons from the greatest smith in Skyrim. Even if he'd say no, i'd still like to be able to ask. So i can upgrade my Artifacts.
Awesome mod. Thanks for sharing with us. Does exactly what it says and saves hours of grinding. I wish there were more like this out there for other skills too.
Very happy to endorse and this gets my vote for this month!
Originally, I wanted to create one for each skill, but then some irl happened and I haven't got the chance to get back to Skyrim. These mods are quite easy to create, so when I'll get back to Skyrim, I'll definitely finish it (although elder scrolls 6 might be up by that time T.T)
This is one of these 'cheat' modes that actually makes a lot of sense lore-wise. We're endlessly reminded that he's the best Blacksmith in all of Skyrim, so it fits that he'd be able to train the player in various smithing techniques.
The cheat part is mainly that it is free, except normal skill requirements. The masters of crafts are not usually so kind-hearted as teach their skills for free - even if the student is the dragonborn! :D
It could become less of a cheat if you add some more conditions like if the dragon born is thane and/or harbinger of the companions. There is a hidden rank system. In fact i'd say it would be more lore friendly as the graymanes are known for not being greedy. Prestige on the other hand,..
Going to give this mod a try as you've created it. I know you said in the description that this is only for Vanilla Perk tree. But, I'm going to ask anyway. Ordinator is the most popular or at least one of the most popular perk overhauls, soooo any chance that you mod could work with Ordinator's Smithing tree?
Honestly, I only used ordinator many years ago so I don't really remember if there were vanilla perks left over. But it should still be there, as you still need access to them to be able to craft.
After I've finished this vanilla version I will probably create ordinator one, but I don't have much time right now (exams in a month) so it will have to wait for a bit.
This is neat! I've been thinking it would be cool if there were different options to acquire perks. Eorlund teaching you makes sense.
For dialogue that won't appear right away: I've run into this issue before working on my own projects. You can fix it by generating an seq file and packaging it with the mod. It's easiest to do in SSE Edit. Just load the mod, right click on it in the left pane, click Other, and then something like Create SEQ File. Then you get bug-free dialogue!
nothing really complicated (except attaching one script to multiple dialogues - CK really does not like that). Every dialogue line checks for conditions how far player progressed in smithing tree and shows next missing perks if available. Script is just for adding the perk itself.
Yeah, I am working on such a version. My CK is broken tho so I switch between CK, xEdit and Sublime all the day and it gets pretty tiring after a while. But I will definitely update it ASAP.!

Maybe the requirement might be to free that one graymane from thalmor prison, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

It would be better if he teaches for gold.(ex: 2000 gold steel and 4000 dwemer etc)
