If the two mods have different pathing for the textures and meshes for the animals they add, why couldn't you use them together? One mod add cat A, B, C etc. One adds cat 1, 2, 3 etc. They could look different, act different, have different actions or traits added by the different mods, but couldn't you still have both in the same game?
I've been looking around myself, and I decided on this one: A Cat's Life (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37250)
Has anyone tried these together? On another note, I looked closely at all the screenshots of both mods, and can't see too much difference. The models (meshes?) seem to make the cats look a little like bulldogs. Would be nice for a few before/after screenies.
It seems that when you have HDT, there's a bone in skeevers that causes an issue making cats from any mod invisible. I haven't found a fix anywhere for this claim but it looks like a common bug report in a few cat mods. Can anyone elaborate? Any work-around?

It needs a different pathing from the meshes and textures
Are there meant to be two photoshop files in the archive? They bloat the download unnecessarily if they are not required.
In the "textures/Mihail Monsters and Animals/skeever/house cat" folder:-
t_01__cat_cs_d01shell.psd (41.2 MB)
t_01__cat_cs_n01.psd (52.1 MB)
That's 93.3 MB that could be removed from the 120.7 MB download package, reducing the archive significantly if removed.

The one you mentioned looks good indeed.?
