These new Slaughterfish are terrifying to meet in VR!!  Yes some of them may be coming up on land a bit, but the vanilla ones do that too so no big deal to me.  Love your mods! Endorsed!

I love this mod, but it shares the same issue as the vanilla slaughterfish in that the fish can be quite far above the water. I kind of crudely solved the issue by extending the dorsal collision in my mod, SSS-CT, and have been testing the same tweak on your mod, but since it is a skeleton swap that is basically an update to your mod, I can;t release. I'd be happy to send you the file to upload yourself once I dial in the settings (they still get on land rather easily, currently).

UPDATE: My version is complete and there is guide on how to do it in the Articles on my mod page, if you'd prefer to release your own patch or just include it in the mod. For whatever reason, your fish still love to stick their dorsal fins out of the water, even with the tweak... maybe they think they are little great white sharks or something. :P

I love and use most of rougeshot's work but I can confirm this causes the Slaughterfish to become landdwellers, they float around on land quite often.

That is a vanilla bug. Without any mods installed the slaughterfish will sometimes encroach on land in effort to attack you. They typically never travel more than a few feet onto land though. Unimmersive, but it is what it is.

With this mod installed the only thing I have noticed is that the slaughter fish will sometimes float at the surface of the water similar to a alligator. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but I like it.

The size of these fish is perfect. Much more intimidating than the vanilla size.

They look great in deep water but are too big for the locations they spawn in. Endorsed anyway.

I got almost all the mods here, but the slaughterfishes are way too big in many small rivers so that half the body is swimming out of water. The textures are very nice but I definitely can't keep those fish in that size.

It's not a bug: slaughterfish are supposed to look like ancient earth fish that had lobed fins and could walk on land, which is why they can "swim" on land (this game has mammoths, saber cats, and Irish Elk, so this is in line with the overall design). It's not as noticeable when the fish are small, but looks really weird when they're large.

      Hi Adacho,
They should work fine together.  If you can preview most files before downloading by clicking the preview link below the download button and compare the two files.  If the cover the same files then you'll have a conflict if not you're good to go.

      Enjoy the mod my friend!

This mod does great visuals for the slaughterfish but occasionally can make them one-and-a-half times the size of your character, haha. I love the visuals but it makes them so massive that it's just comical seeing them in streams. Not for me, but I endorsed it anyway because of the excellent visual work. If I had the knowledge to make them about half-sized, that'd be perfect, but the improvement this mod makes can't be ignored.

Recommended if you want really, REALLY big alligators fish.

It's a shame that a vanilla bug basically renders this mod unusable.  Rougeshot's work is some of the best out there in my opinion, but it's absolutely immersion destroying seeing these big fish floating on top of water and on land.  I never had the bug with regular slaughterfish tbh but I will take other people's word it's vanilla bug and not this mod...

I use all of your meshes, they are wonderful.

Perhaps these fish should be slightly smaller? I love that they are real predators now, but in some small rivers they could just be a bit smaller to feel realistic.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so. you can put their eggs in the fisheries too and they are too big for that now.....

I love rougeshot's mesh work and have 99% of them installed. I too, agree with the above posters that this one is a bit unfitting, as the new, epic looking and gator like slaughterfish are so big that they are forced to be battleships rather than submarines. This is most noticeable in rivers and ponds (especially frozen marsh swamps around Morthal) where they are never underwater, but "wriggle" on the bottom while their heads and bodies sit 1-2 feet above the surface. Wait for it....wait for it.... totally .... un-immersive.

edited Dec 06 2019. It's not a mesh, but a skeleton, so I cannot easily edit it.

I think what would be really great, though probably well beyond the scope of this mod, would be to have them in various sizes. So you might get the smaller ones in the small rivers and lakes while the larger ones are in the seas and deeper lakes and the occasional monster one lurking in the depths. Probably be a heck of a lot of work to pull off though. Like all of Rougheshot's mods it's really high quality work, but the size issue means this is probably the only one I won't be keeping.

That's okay. I didn't want to go swimming anyway.

(For real though, great work as usual!)

The fish look great but I'mgoing to have to uninstall because most of the time they seem to either be flying above the water of floating ontop of it, instead of underneath it :(

I can often see the slaughterfish wriggling about, above the water (or even on the land), from a distance.

Any way to make them swim mainly underwater and perhaps have only the dorsal-fin break the water occasionally like a (shark) instead of the whole body floating above the water?

    Thank you!
