I've updated the patch to work with version 1.5 of Drinking Fountains of Skyrim. There's a file for each of the DFoS plugin options (ESL, ESP, ESPFE). You only need the one that matches the variant you have installed to match the correct FormIDs. They are (or should be) identical otherwise.
Added a "Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul" compatible version in the optional files section. You only need this if you're using CFTO. The file from the Main section is not required if you're using this. I don't use CFTO myself, so I'd appreciate some feedback if it works, thanks !
Hi, thank you for the awesome mod! I'm updating mi modlist for a new run and i putting in the new version of INeed ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19390 ): it is possible to have a new verions of your mod compatible with it?
Why does it give me a missing master for CTFO when I'm not using the CTFO version? This seems really buggy. or did the author upload the wrong files? I'm confused.
Getting a weird error with LOOT, when i enable "Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch (for the DFoS ESP Version) - compatible with CFTO" I get Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch.esp depends on Drinking fountains of Skyrim for SSE.esl. Am i missing something? Why is it asking for the .esl verison when i use the (For the DFoS ESP Version) Patch?
I don't know why ut tihs patch just flat out doesn't work for me anymore period, it did work fine before i build my load order up again, now i cannot make it work and it doesn't flag any issues to me, anyone know what might be a possible cause?
When did you redo your load order ? I'm not playing right now, but I saw that iNeed had an update in early October. Maybe some FormIDs changed with the update. I'll have a look.
Are you playing AE or SE ? Just in case - are you sure you chose the matching version of my patch for the Drinking Fountains mod ? There are three different versions depending on the Drinking Fountains plugin format you're using (esl, esp or espfe)
EDIT: Just glanced over the updates for iNeed in SSEEdit. The FormID for _SNActivatePerks in the updated iNeed seemingly stayed the same for both the SE and AE versions, so my patch should work just fine with them. I'll try it in-game on the weekend if I can find some time.
Hey man! Fountains are dope id like to keep them but... the patch doesn't seem work with Ineed Continued though. Ive tried placing it lowest in priorities and LO too still get the 3 bottles of water on the 10 day cool down my water skin stays empty :C. Ive read some of the other comments as well, my fountain says Water fountain. I do also use CTFO with it's ineed patch which prevents getting sleepy when taking the carriage with it's mod added routes. Got any ideas on how to make then work together? Bottles of water isnt the end of the world it still gets the job done but it's a bit immersion breaking. Im using Ineed continued 1.93 Drinking fountain 1.5.
Noticed i had it 1 above CTFO patch, neverless giving your patch priority over it didn't fix the issue, Fountains still don't refill waterskins. I'm using the ESL version of both If you want ill send you my load order. Theres 1 other mod that seems to slighty conflict with ineed. But it handles Alcohol, which it will still hydrate it just has to be spam clicked 2+ at a time instead of 1:1 with that mod disabled. But with that mod disabled the fountains still don't refill the water skins so im at a total loss. Tested a bit more, removed both CFTO And Dfos patches from bashed patch, placed Cfto lower then dfos, neither work. Placed dfos lower then cfto bottom of my load order and Dfos works. It seems having this patch kills the functionality of Cfto patch entirely because it seemed to work previously ill post CFTO page too see if they got any ideas.
Could you add a patch that also makes this work with the fountains in "Open Cities Skyrim - SSE" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/281) ?
Hi, Have you tried if it maybe already works ? If I'm not mistaken, the Open Cities Patch for the Drinking Fountains of Skyrim should just add them to the Worldspace just like the "original" ones. If that is so, my patch should already work since there shouldn't be a difference between using a fountain in OpenCities compared to the original ones.
You just need to make sure that you're using the correct, matching version(s) of DFoS, the DFoS/OCS patch and mine. I just checked and it seems that the DFoS/OCS patch on the OCS page was made with the esp version of DFoS in mind, therefore you also need my patch in the esp variant (also DFoS as a regular esp obviously)
Hmmm. I'm not quite sure what could be wrong. The esp has literally just has one entry that adds a copy of the way empty waterskins are refilled at Barrels - just with the fountain replacing the barrel. There isn't much that should be able to go wrong.
Can you refill waterskins at Ineed Barrels ? Keep in mind you need empty waterskins - i.e. the ones that show up in the Misc/Clutter category. They won't be refilled if they're still 2/3 or 1/3 full
Edit: I had the empty waterskin in misc and still it didn't work. I'm gonna try to have this mod and its patches outside a bashpatch and see if that solves it
Apparently I had made the patch against my personal esl-ified version of "Drinking Fountains" which has different FormIDs. The esl-ification was done ages ago, so I had forgotten that its not the official release in my modlist. I've just reuploaded the patch made with the official FormIDs. Try this one.
Thanks for the heads-up BTW and sorry for the inconvenience.
It should definitely work with iNeed Continued v1.93 and Drinking Fountains 1.5 espl - that's what I am using.
Can you check what it says when you hover the reticule over the fountain ? It should say "Water Fountain" instead of "Drinking Water", otherwise you may be using the wrong version (esp/espl/esl) for your install. Is the patch is loaded after "Drinking Fountains" and "iNeed" ? Have you maybe compacted or merged those plugins in the past ? Are there other plugins that may change items from either Drinking Fountains or iNeed ?
If you have the possibility to use xEdit, you could check if you have the correct IDs for these items :
The Activator »manny_DrinkingWater« from Drinking fountains of Skyrim for SSE.(esp/esl) should be xx002e71(esp version) xxxx0800(espl version) xxxx0800(esl version)
The Perk»_SNActivatePerks« from iNeed.esp should be xx004387
Replace the x's with the load order of the respective plugins in your install
I may have a clue...I followed your research steps (thank you!) and noticed the Perk»_SNActivatePerks« condition from iNeed.esp is also used by the CFTO-iNeed Patch. I moved this patch (Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch) higher in the priority list than the CFTO-iNeed Patch, and now it works fine. I am not a developer but hope this helps for those who know more about it and can confirm.
Hmm... Interesting. Thanks for looking this up. If another mods' modified »_SNActivatePerks« Perk wins the conflict, this would indeed stop my modifications from working. Same thing the other way round. If my modification wins, the other one stops working. I should have a look what CTFO uses »_SNActivatePerks« for.
Sorry for the late reply and not clarifying. By higher, I mean Drinking Fountains -iNeeds patch has a higher priority number than the CFTO-iNEED patch. So if CFTO-iNeed Patch is number 200, Drinking Fountains-iNeed patch is number 201. I assume you resolved this by now but hopefully this helps others in the future.
It works well, thank you, but I think it would be better if you removed the standard action (or make an option) since it's not useful anymore (mainly since this button is misaligned)
Hmm... In principle I'd like to keep the option to get some water bottles... in case the player hasn't got any waterskins on them and wants to take some water with them instead of drinking directly from the fountain.
I'll look into maybe making it conditional depending on if the player has water skins on them or not. Don't know if/how that would work though.

I made a version of this patch that is hopefully compatible with CFTO by incorporating the changes CFTO makes to iNeeds »_SNActivatePerks«.
Could you please check out the optional files section and try the version that is appropriate for your DFoS variant ?

Could you post again for me to test here?
Here's the file again. Can't guarantee that it works though, can't test it myself right now.
