Hi! I hope you're still keeping track of your thread here. Would just like to let you know that your edit script has been a life saver for me. I've been fiddling with my mod setup for weeks now trying to get the skin gloss on demoniac to work with my enb setup (re-engaged enb option b) and this edit script really did a hard fix for all my problems!
Once again, thanks for the amazing script and Talos guide you!
I wonder if this creates copies of meshes or instead edits (overwrites) existing ones. because if it's the latter then it's gonna be hard to revert all the stuff back if messed up
damit, thought that I'd give it a go via MO2, but appears instead of dumping .nifs to overwrite folder, it actually edits any files in mod folders. which is sad because I just clicked on run, to try it out lol
does anybody know default value.. nah what am I asking no one knows default values..
Sorry to hear about your problems, but the script has to edit the files as it is supposed to be as easy to use as possible. I could have made some backup folder option, but I havent thought about that during writing it. Maybe I'll add it when I do next version, but it won't be anytime soon.
As for default values, those can be different for each mesh, but I think generaly it is about 30 gloss and 1 specular.
NP since I am idiot, it's all on me, my fault I haven't tried on 1 mod for the instance. I just re-installed affected mods, took me some time but nothing crucial. Thanks for your reply!
Any way to add support for Skyrim VR? Most MODs/Tools support VR as it is based off of SE it may work without any code changes..
looks like the script is checking for SE? not sure but it errors out very quickly...
[00:00] Start: Applying script "Skyrim SE - Generate Large References" Game not supported [00:00] Done: Applying script "Skyrim SE - Generate Large References", Elapsed Time: 00:00
This script does not care about game variant, and it seems you are applying different script. Mine is "Skyrim - Update glossiness" or something like that
thanks for this, can't believe i never found this until now. is it possible to make a similar batch script to change/add a specified environment map texture to meshes? and/or set the environment map flag and shader type to bslightingshaderproperty?
theoretically, changing any mesh value should be possible on a similar principle of this script. Unfortunatelly, I don't have skyrim set up atm so I can not really test it.
works perfectly fine on LE, but Both SE and LE have 1 problem, head mesh from NPC (Facegeom facegen data) doesnt get updated. Hands, feet and body is perfectly aligned. This leads to mismatch in visual when the npc wear some armor that had huge different in specular, glossiness with his facegen data.
Hmm, it's true, I haven't considered applying gloss to faces. The problem with it is that all npcs (or at least ~half with women only) would have to be edited I think, which is probably something a script could do, but it might be better to create another one. I dont have skyrim set up currently as I am waiting for a new pc, but I might look into it in the future.

Best way to find out would be to backup your mod and try to run this ?
