If you encounter an issue with a particular weather, please download my lightweight utility mod from the link below. It will allow you to view the current weather ID, which would tell me exactly what weather is having a problem and make debugging significantly easier.
EDIT: Looks like I was mistaken, and what I was experiencing was just a weird transition where the sky had changed to a new weather but the rain effect hadn't yet stopped. If anyone else notices any quirks though, please let me know!
Hi everyone! Sorry for being MIA for so long, I got busy with school and lost interest in Skyrim for awhile. However, my partner doing their first modded playthrough has renewed my interest in modding (and given me a good way to test compatibility with the new versions of Cathedral Weathers!).
As of now, it appears that the mod is still compatible with the newest Cathedral Weathers version, with the only exception being at least one weather that used to be rain but now appears to have a completely clear sky. This doesn't cause any problems apart from looking bizarre, and all I need to do is remove the rain effect from this weather and it should be good. Expect a minor update for this soon!
At first, I loved it.. then I noticed that dark fog messes up the view from high Hrothgar (I see nothing in the distance) and it messed up some other beautiful scenes... then I found SOLUTION:
In SSEEdit find Obsidian in cathedral.esp -> click on Weather -> delete SkyrimFogCO -> Done :) (for me it looks normal only if I choose vanilla nights)
Now I can continue loving this mod :)
I use ENB, Reshader, Lux, DLSS upscaler.. so might be only in my specific case :D but might help someone running a similar modlist
A pre-release for version 4.0 is now available for download in the Files tab! I've gone through every single rainy/snowy/foggy weather in the game, and fine tuned each one that didn't look right. With the help of some awesome users, I was able to fix some elusive bugs, and I'm very happy with the result. If no major bugs are found, I will upload the full release along with the darker nights patches one week from now.
Great mod, but I have one thing. When it is raining and there is thunder there is black fog hanging around my camera view. It's suppose to be a fog of rain, but its black like smoke. I can't escape from it and it's not a really nice effect. It's better if the fog is white transparent. It can be from True Storms but I can't check it because it needs improved rain and fog patch. When I disable true storms, wet and cold and Improved rain and fog, the black clouds disappeared.
It sounds like it could be a weird conflict with True Storms. I will take a look tonight, although if you encounter a weather where the fog appears it would be great if you could use the mod in the pinned post to see exactly which weather is having the problem.
Sorry for taking so long. Are the puffs of fog that keep popping up in front of the player in this gif what you're talking about? https://giant.gfycat.com/HelpfulJollyAddax.webm (alt link: https://files.catbox.moe/wanwv0.mp4). If so, the issue appears to be with True Storms, as this happens without IRFCW installed.
It did take me 2 years to react. Just installed Skyrim again and again black clouds around my camera. You are right, it's not from this mod, but from True storm. Ts_FXCameraAttacheffet for anybody with the same problem, you can just delete the effect in ssedit (True Storm and then open effects) no more weird dark clouds around my camera every time with heavy rain. (not rollingfog_Think, but the other one
EDIT: Feel free to disregard the below - the problem persists, even with your mod disabled. I've asked on the Cathedral Discord - hopefully someone there can help me.
Hi there, I'm having a small problem with lighting at certain times of day. Having done some testing, I can consistently get the problem to occur by setting the weather to 0010a237, between about 6pm and 9pm. The result is that everything turns a monochrome blue shade, including flames from torches and campfires and even the sun itself turns blue.
I'm not sure how to add a screenshot here, sorry. It's not an ENB issue, since I tested it with ENB disabled.
Your mod (Darker Nights patch) is the last one in my load order that edits that particular weather record, hence I'm posting here. My LO looks like this:
Cathedral Weathers.esp TrueStormsSE.esp Cathedral Weather Godrays.esp CathedralWeathersSeasons.esp JawZ_Weathers CW.esp Obsidian In Cathedral.esp DarkerNights-ObsidianInCathedral.esp <---- this is the last plugin to edit Weather ID 0010A237 CathedralWeathersPatch.esp CathedralWeatherMCM.esp Supreme Fog.esp
Please let me know if you have any ideas how I can fix this, short of disabling your mod (or removing that weather ID from it)?
Seems like i get what your mean. I just got a dark blue shade monochrome weather at 7 PM in whiterun that overwrite everything. Even the flames from the braseros don't emit light and turn kind of blue. Waiting until 9 pm seems to change the weather for a normal one.
I used LOOT for load order and runned the mod for more than one month without problem... Strange. Are you sure this is this mod that cause this issue?
Recently reinstalled Skyrim, had the same problem. Turned out it's Cathedral Weather Godrays. Disable that plugin, and no more smurf-world. Since it also killed the pretty godrays, I just changed my weather mod. If you don't want to change weather mods and are fond of the godrays, you can use this thing right here to turn them back on. Anybody else looking for a solution to the Blueberry Apocalypse, give that a try.
I don't know whats wrong with it. It made Rainstorms x3 times Darker same as Nights. It made Fogs x3 times more Foggy. Clean Obsidian Weathers is x3 times less Dark and x3 times less Foggy and Balanced.
Its not Load Order or INI related i assure you so maybe doesn't work anymore as it should. In any case i am running the New Cathedral with its optional file Rudy tweaks now and its similar to Obsidians Weathers but even better. So this i completely replaced Obsidian Now.
But this mod here might have issues with the New version and Rudy Tweaks.
Ok, this mod broke my game (visually). Befor installation I had beautiful colors, vivid, vibran. When I installed thismod, it made weather or colors bleak, almost black and white. And it looked like it's always foggy outside. I dodn't like it, so I uninstalled it. But foggy and bleaknes still presists. No matter how much I adjust vividnes or saturation in game menu (Chaterdal weather MCM).I also am using Imaginator, and evenwith it I can't correct problem. Inside picture looks good, but outside - bleak, colorless, foggy. Before If I looked at sky it had beautifull blue color, now it has almost grayish blue color. How to fix this?

Were any bugs for version 4.0 reported so far?
I am really loving the changes you introduced with the patch. I'm particularly fond of the softness that the added weathers add to the scene.
