This is the thing I genuinely fear to be honest. It requires internet connection with daily login requirement, won't be on steam, and mod support is limited to creation club only content.
My fear as well. They will kill mods to force micro transactions, Imagine the Elder Scrolls 6 coming out with only one armor set and the rest for sale in store.
Whats sad is it probably will be a "feature." F76 right now is just their test bed for how they plan on doing things in future games. I will not be surprised at all to find the "atom" store and other great "features" from F76 showing up in future titles like Starfield and ES6.
this is the very reason why i never purchase any game when it's brand new. it's best to wait a year of it being out and making sure that these companies don't add a bunch of s#*! on top of the game, we know their game and their tricks of the trade. we know what to look for and what to shoot down at any glance, all we have to do is to collectively come together and say no on these things. single player means single player, with no internet fucking connection required.
god damn man. i would absolutely hate something like this. and yes i understand this was a representation of bethesda's s#*! public relations, and is absolutely needed to let ppl know not to take this kind of s#*! from bethesda. i have a hard enough time dealing with the bethesda.net breaking my game, so i have to set certain parameters in place so my game does not update when my steam is online.
most of the time i prefer to have my steam offline because of this kind of fucking nonsense! and just in case steam tries to go online without my knowledge. i have another parameter set in place so the update is further prevented and that is to throttle the speed and make sure that i have a few other games that are first on the priority list. unfortunately there is not much else i can do to stop it, except for maybe putting a timer on my internet usage.
it used to be much easier in the past. and steam is no help either in this case, they could go back to the parameters we loved, but instead it's this forced update crap we hate so much. steam and bethesda are so hard at work on these damned forced updates. it pisses me the f*#@ off!
so thank you for showing the finger to bethesda with this mod. it will likely not do s#*! because they are now a corporation. but it's the effort that matters the most. so thank you.
Amazing how some companies are still out of touch with the reality of their players preferences.
This bodes ill for TES 6 then, probably will be an always online experience .... what a waste and shame.
I will endorse this product for what it is, a crass reminder of the direction Bethesda is taking all of us ...
Thanks for bringing this to our attention man ... no wonder I stopped buying games altogether from big companies and are just experiencing good old games like Skyrim in 2019 still
So, the "always online" nightmare has returned? Remember Diablo III? Remember Sim City? I thought we surpassed it… but never underestimate anti-gamer policies. Never!!! And they, cynically, like as a defendant at a court, alleges a “mistake”, an “error”. In a form of a protest, I will download the mod, endorse it and I will vote for mod of the month, hoping we deliver the ultimate message: don’t mess with us, gamers!!!
Just go buy the versions on GOG. DRM free and they require No online connection. They are also on sale currently. The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 + Final Doom and Doom 3 are all -67% off and also include a copy of TES 1 Arena and TES 2 Daggerfall with the purchase. You can also download the entire game for backup so you have a copy of it when the the possible day will come when these game platforms, such as Bethesda.net and Steam might not be around anymore. This is not a sales pitch, just a fact that Bethesda.net is a $hit platform for buying your games on.
