THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE DOWNLOADING

  • This is my FIRST ATTEMPT at a player home. Things can and will be a little on the buggy side. Considering i had to piece a lot of this code together from old tutorials and trial and error, mistakes are bound to happen.
  • If you submit a bug report, please try to be specific on the issues. I've tested things multiple times on my end and they seem to work fine. If you are having an issue, try reloading a previous save. If it doesn't work, let me know and please explain it in as much detail as you can so I can try to replicate the problem and find the fix
  • Several parts of the home are CONDITIONAL. This means: If you don't have a specific item in your inventory, or you haven't completed a specific quest, it won't display or work properly until then. Ensure you have completed ANY AND ALL ASSOCIATED QUESTS before placing the item.
  • I know what you are thinking: "But wait, the new download is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the older download? Are you sure everything is there?" Yes, I am. And yes, I lost a decent amount of sleep over this. I tested the files myself on a laptop with a fresh install and only this mod alongside a vanilla version of the game and everything works perfectly. I don't know exactly WHY the original file size was so massive, I wish i really knew. Maybe it's how I compressed things the second time around, maybe it's how Nexus Mods handled something. Everything still checks out, so no need to worry. I worried enough for the two of us.

That being said, I hope you enjoy the mod more than I did MAKING the thing.

========================================== ? ABOUT THE MOD ? ==========================================

Several years in the making, finally released for the public to enjoy...seriously took me too long to make this...mostly scripting...

In the countryside outside of Riften lies a lonely Manor, left waiting for an adventurer to claim it for themselves. This home come jam packed with crafting stations and unique storage locations both upstairs and downstairs. Includes alchemy, cooking, smithing, smelting, enchanting and staff enchanting stations. Also comes with custom storage for food, scrolls, alcohol, individual relics and much more.

If you are part of the Thieves Guild, you will find a secret entrance to the Ragged Flagon...just follow the notes...

This mod was heavily inspired by the Canal Home, created by Elianora, for the original Skyrim,

Most all bugs should be worked out, and there is still MUCH MORE I want to include. If you find bugs, let me know and I will try to fix them when I am able to.

The House itself is on a back road between Fort Greenwall and Riften. To get into the basement, check the table near the fire for the key. There should be two notes explaining the key and the location of the other key that will get you the shortcut to the Thieves Guild.

========================================== ? Frequently Asked Questions ? ==========================================
(aka Caff is passive aggressive for 5 minutes)
Q: Is this REALLY your first player home?
A: Yes. Yes it is. First one I've submitted, at least. Likely won't be the last.

Q: Can you please put in a display for (Random Item here)?
A: Took me forever to get what I had set up. So no. Use the general storage chests for your other random stuff. There are PLENTY of places to store your things.

Q: Why don't things appear and vanish on the shelves upstairs like they do downstairs?
A: Because the stuff downstairs is considered Dynamic Storage and requires lots of scripts to run. The shelves upstairs are Custom Containers and are the result of me spending hours placing clutter. I'd rather not torture myself like that.

Q: AUTOSORT?!
A: Sweet mother of Hermaeus Mora, no. I've seen the script needed to get started on it and i'd rather search for the Stones of Barenziah without mods for all of eternity.

Q: Where is the key to the basement? I CANT FIND IT!?
A: It's on the table right as you walk in near the fireplace. Under some papers that you should probably read. If you still can't find it, refer to this image. I'm afraid I can't be any more clear than that. Eventually I will make a Youtube video of it.

Q: Why can't I move in my spouse and 5,000 followers?
A: Because the life of a thief is a lonely one. There are two beds. They allow you to rest well between your missions. Your Followers don't need to sleep. They run on equal parts moon sugar and Ice Spells. Also, the script to do this is insane. I've spent nearly enough time learning how to get the shrine to work. No thanks. I'd rather not torture myself like that.

Q: I can't place an item on the shrine or anything in that room! What should I do?
A: First off, make sure the quest associated with it is completed. One of the Elder Scrolls is a fine example of this. Make sure you have completed any and all associated quests with that item before you place it. This is so that you don't break any quest. It's a Bethesda Game, y'all, it's broken enough as is.

Q: Can you restrict certain items from being placed in certain spots? Why can I place my sweetroll in the ore storage?
A: I'd hope you have more control than that. Same reason why there is no autosort. Takes a lot of time to set that up. Also, CK stuff is finicky. I'd have to spend a whole week REWORKING keywords to get it to work. I love you Alex, but not that much...

Q: I love your mod! How can I support you?
A: First of all, thank you for taking the time to download the mod. I heart your face. Secondly, if there isn't already a link somewhere to donate, click here to send me a direct donation. (NOTE: All donations are final, no refunds will be issued.)

Q: Didn't you used to post under a different name?
A: Yes. If you see any mods with "Incubex" or "Incubex Delwraith" on them, that's me. Old account. Don't post from it anymore.

Q: Can I have access to the assets (models) you used?
A: Short answer, no. Long answer: Not really. I made most of them by creating a static version of the item and placing it. It just requires a lot of knowing how to make Custom Containers. Google "Darkfox127 Custom Containers" to figure out how I did it.

Q: Can I have access to the assets (Scripts) you used?
A: I'd prefer you didn't outright steal the scripts I used to make everything work. If you are insistent on it, at least credit me and, if you are feeling generous, kick aside a donation (Donation is NOT required, but greatly appreciated) . I spent far too much time learning how CK code works, and I gotta tell you, it's an absolute pain in the backside.

Q: There is a door downstairs behind a door bar that wont unlock! Where is the key?
A: In the Cistern, on a side table near the cooking pot, shown here. That door is a shortcut to the Ragged Flagon, seen here. You will need the key inside the satchel to unlock the door on both sides of the shortcut.

==========================================?KNOWN BUGS?==========================================

As of the "New Un-broken version" of the mod, there are no known bugs, only unknown ones. If you know of one, please inform me.

  • The one POSSIBLE bug is when you transition from the old broken version and the new unbroken version and there is still the mining bug. THAT bug is hard-boiled into your save. Nothing I can do about that. New saves will have this problem fixed.
