Please keep your personal opinions to yourself! To all the sexist commenters.... Go harass a "Skimpy Armor" or "Bouncing Boob" mod or one of the hundreds of mods along those lines. Your hypocrisy is astounding. People are fine with hordes a naked women running through snow drifts in to battle. Awesome! Genocide is cool. That is fine. I get it. Don't subscribe to this mod. Really! It is just that simple. If you don't like this mod just keep on surfing. I am sure you will find something more to your liking. No one is trying to change YOUR game! Please don't try to tell me how to role play mine. Thank you.
I see a lot of requests for patches to other mods. So I am going to answer here, one for all, so to speak. No. It is highly unlikely that I will be doing anything further with Skyrim SE. Of course, I won't say "never" but neither would I recommend one holding their breath. (laugh) I just don't like working with it. It is way to glitchy and Creation Kit for SE does not work and play well with Mod Organizer 2. As a matter of fact, I have actually uninstalled SE and am currently (and happily) playing, my modded to perfection, Oldrim Legendary. Sorry to disappoint.
It's always rubbed me the wrong way how many women were in the ranks of both sides of the Civil War conflict. I read some of the comments here dismissing the idea that you can't apply the history of the past to a game based on myths, fables, and actual history mixed with creativity, and that's dumb.
Elder Scrolls has internal logic that is consistent with reality, people have to eat, people have to sleep, and people have to breed in order to make more people. We can also see that Men and Women are different physically in this game, with obviously Males are able to be much broader in size than their female counterparts, allowing for more strength, it can also be assumed that all the races have testosterone and estrogen, to dismiss this is crazy. Now I'm not saying that you can't have women in military, obviously this isn't true in history nor is it true in modern times and especially in the Elder Scrolls. I'm simply suggesting that with parallels to our reality that Tamriel holds the same specific logic of biological differences between the two sexes that we do in our world.
And I'm not even getting into differences in thinking among Men and Women, with mental differences that make Men better able to cope with the stresses of War and Battle.
tl;dr: Mod is accurate, Women don't want to fight in wars mostly because biology
You missed the fact that the Nords are based on the Viking era Norse Pagans... Which were notoriously fearsome because "even the women fought and raided with them". The Byzantines viewed them as complete savages because of this. Hell even their God of war was a woman.
Now I will say this, if you really wanted to make this based on real world parallels that influenced the elder scrolls, then you should only have removed the majority of the men from the imperial legion, and the Stormcloaks should be left full of women. The same would apply to any Imperial loyal civil war city guards, while leaving the Stormcloak loyal cities as are.
No women have not raided with vikings. There are no concrete/decisive proof that even one shield maiden was in battle. Women have different roles, and even in skyrim this is shown. Most of them work at inns, shop stalls, while men work as blacksmiths, in mines etc.
You made a couple of mistakes in that comment but the one that I'm pointing out is that the Viking god of war was Odin not this imaginary female god of war your thinking of.
I honestly don't understand why the comments always end up being weird for mods like this. If you like it, then use it. If you don't, then move on. Nothing is ever 100% in touch with reality or anyone's standards. I'm sure mods that do the opposite of this one get the same weird comments ironically enough. Personally though, this mod is right up my alley.
Hi, I just started a new game and Amanda Beth is showing the blackface thing at Helgen. Does anyone know which mod is interfering with her? I can upload my load order if needed.
same here, shield brothers only, shield maidens should be more concerned with protecting and fighting like a town militia member or defensive of her family's home.
