Heads up to anyone considering this mod, it has an undocumented change where iron ore now smelts into iron ingots at 2:1 instead of the vanilla 1:1. Pulled my hair out trying to find the mod that changed that and it turned out to be this one.

Yeah, if you have xEdit, then I recommend opening this mod up in it and changing the recipe back to 1:1. It's simple to do.

Most smithing mods, like Ars Metallica, CCOR, and Simple Smithing Overhaul, tend to include the 2:1 change because they feature smelting of weapons, armor, and clutter into ingots. So it helps to off-set how accessible iron becomes with those mods. However, I recently dumped my smithing mod (they screw up the economy) and yeah, was surprised this mod to be the culprit lol. Author needs to inform people on the front page.

So I had quick look in SSEEdit for FormID 000A30C3 (Iron Ingot Recipe) but this mod doesn't touch that record?

So should this be loaded high up (soon after USSEP) in my load order? Or  does it not matter?

No offense to anyone working on the USSEP project, but as far as I can tell, USSEP isn't nearly as good as it's cranked up to be. For a project that supposedly fixes "thousands of bugs", there are a lot of separate bug fix mods such as this one. Not to mention decade-old game breaking bugs such as Alduin's Wall, the Civil War stuff, etc.

Thanks a lot for this mod. Downloaded and endorsed. Hopefully somebody can also fix the beds so that NPC's can use them. For instance the bed in the "Small House" is completely unusable by anyone outside of the player character.

"USSEP isn't nearly as good as it's cranked up to be" - you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm not nearly as critical of USSEP but he's absolutely right. There are TONS and TONS of pure bugfixes out there that have been around forever and could have been rolled into USSEP for a long time now. Basic stuff that's not a matter of taste at all and it SHOULD cover. I respect that there is a certain philosophy to how they approach every fix, but there are several that fit that philosophy and they just won't implement for whatever reason. USSEP is cool and they've put a lot of work into it, but it's not that comprehensive.

Most people that complain about USSEP are spreading misinformation that can be easily verified on a single google search. If u ask any of them for proper evidence they don't know or just treat u rudely. These people just regurgitate misinformation like some Facebook grandma. There are two single edits under USSEP that I know of to not be pure bugfixes, those are the only examples I could find online after a thorough search: the hair color of an NPC is changed to adhere to a single other NPCs dialogue describing them, though the NPC changed is in hiding so it makes some sense that they might die their hair. Other is NPCs refer to a mine as a simple iron mine but in game it contains a lot of ebony, even though the quest sends u to deliver a special ore found withing that the miner never saw(could be the ebony, but the place is filled with it with no iron in sight) or the quick silver ore he gives u that he probably mined and thus the ebony should probably have been iron veins instead, but due to a likely oversight on the devs part, it was replaced with ebony. Given that very close by, there is a dragon mount with an ancient abandoned mine filled with skeletons that lead to the dragon and that inside the mine there is a lot of iron, this mine and red belly iron mine's ore veins may have been swapped by mistake and the patch fixes it. The author gets so much trash/s#*! for very little though his behavior online can be a bit odd/rude towards anyone who criticizes him unfairly. There are some stories of him, that I can't verify that sounds like he cares too much for what people talk of him online. The dude is quite rude to people, but honestly, he gets so much s#*! for so little, given how much he and his team contributed to the community. People act so fucking entitled in his mod page demanding total support for previous versions of the game when they can barely manage to keep up with newly introduced bugs on new Skyrim updates. They are doing voluntary work not paid.

I'm confused. What exactly is wrong in vanilla, and what does this mod fix?

Is it that the actual models used in the house are wrong? Or the pre-views we see when choosing to build something? Or both?

How can you tell which are wrong and which are fine?

I would like to know this as well. Does this mod change the appearance of the final products or just the way they appear in the crafting menu?

Many of the Hearthfire building pieces use incorrect models in inventory. This changes them so they match what you are actually building. It also does a little bugfixing to streamline building like not letting you build a second floor before a first one and screwing up your build. It also puts some misplaced pieces in the right menus or gives them an appropriate label so you can tell them apart. It doesn't fix everything because some furniture uses a placeholder model for multiple different items. However I believe everything it does is either benign or beneficial.

Purple texture appears when smim mod is not used. Is there a way to replace the missing texture with vanilla texture?

Some users have noted this should be a part of USSEP. In order to get this into USSEP it has to be reported to the USSEP bug tracker first. Has anyone done this yet? I did a quick search and can't find anything related to Hearthfire furniture fixes.

Ideally the mod author would be the best person to describe the technical details when submitting the ticket.

Yes, I wonder if the unofficial patch is still working on fixing things in the game like this should have been done first up?
I really did not notice this, and you should bring this to The Bug page, who runs the Patch stuff and report and send your findings to them to fix this in the update.
Nice work, and kudos again. Thank you.
