Kagrenac's Refuge is a portable rotating cube home. The cube's 6 sides are made up of an Entrance, Living quarters, Crafting Area, Workshop, Garden and Storage Vault. To rotate the cube simply walk into the stairs where two walls join and you will instantly flip to the other wall.

Kagrenac's Refuge - a portable rotating Dwemer themed Cube home - can be found inside Sinderion's Field Laboratory in Blackreach. Once obtained the home can be activated and accessed from any location.



Rotating Cube Home
The cube's 6 sides are comprised of an Entrance, Living quarters, Crafting Area, Workshop, Garden and Storage Vault. To rotate the cube simply walk into the stairs where two walls join and you will instantly flip to the other wall. There is no loading door / screen.

Entrance / Teleport Portals
Activate the Cube Pedestal to teleport back to Skyrim.

The Entrance contains a map table with red dots marking the position of Teleport Cubes. Find the Teleport Cubes scattered throughout Dwemer Dungeons to unlock the teleport portals. The cubes are in obvious locations (usually the final treasure room) and upon collection will unlock a corresponding teleport cube on the map table. The teleport destinations are just outside of the dungeon entrance. See the spoiler for more details.

  • The Blackreach teleport cube is automatically unlocked from the start and will teleport the player into Sinderion's Field Laboratory.

Living Quarters
There is a double bed and storage for you and your spouse and another bed for a follower. The kitchen contains a cooking pot, oven and butter churn. Use the Dwemer button to toggle Sleep Mode to dim the lights and silence machinery.

Crafting Area
Contains a Dwemer themed Alchemy Lab, Arcane Enchanter, Staff Enchanter, a Bookcase for 28 books and storage containers for your crafting supplies.

Workshop
The workshop has an array of crafting furniture; grindstone, workbench, tanning rack, smelter, wood chopping block and a Dwemer forge that can craft standard, skyforge and Dawnguard weapons and armor. Customized crafting storage is available for all crafting materials.

Garden / Hearthfire Planters
The Garden is planted with a collection of harvestable ingredient flora. You can only harvest plants when you are in the garden area. Please note that the harvested state won't currently show if you are on a different wall. Activate the lever in the garden area to toggle on 16 Hearthfire Planters which can be tailored for individual planting. Currently the Hearthfire planters won't show on the walls however this is a planned feature and requires some scripting trickery.

Storage Vault
Contains 4 mannequins, weapon racks, display cases, lots of chests and custom armor and weapon storage containers. Use the Dwemer button to toggle off the force-field. It will automatically reactivate when you move to a different wall.

Follower Friendly
All walls are fully navmeshed and contain various idle markers and furniture to keep your follower busy. You won't be able to see your follower if they are on a different wall to you. They will teleport out of the cube with you no matter which wall they are on.

Frostfall Friendly
Heat markers have been added for Frostfall compatibility. Note Frostfall isn't required as a master.

Console Commands for early access
If you want to quickly check the home simply console 'coc dwecube' to visit Kagrenac's refuge. You can also console 'help kagrenac' and give yourself Kagrenac's Portal Cube (FormID XX154270) without having to wait until you visit Blackreach.


Kagrenac
"Lord Kagrenac was the Dwemeri Chief Tonal Architect during the time of the First Council and devised tools with which to harness and transcend the limits of Dwemer mortality. Kagrenac was the primary architect working on the Heart of Lorkhan and was responsible for creating the original Brass God, Anumidium. According to some theories, it may have been his use of his tools on the Heart that caused the Dwemer to disappear from the face of Tamriel in 1E 700."
