I like the idea. Installed it and using it for my next playthrough. Question though - is there a cooldown? I mean if money is all the limit i got - then i just pray and pray and pray (like there is no tomororow) and accumulate. Just wondering how that works out.
There is no limit, however Praying enough times will only get your the small favor increase and the unlocks. The rest of it comes from the various methods listed in the description. The advantages are not crazy by any means, but if you want to knock it out in one go, feel free.
There are plenty of more robust Blessing overhauls out there with Pilgrim, Wintersun and Trua. Its partly why I stopped working on this as I have switched over to Pilgrim myself.
Actually i think your mod Is way better, reasonable and immersive. I would like too a "limit" like, you can pray as much how you want buy the effetti Will Be calculated Just once a day. Anyway love this mod and thanks a lot
The two things that I do to counteract this issue are to use economy difficulty mods so that coin is hard to come by and increase the cost of praying substantially. It's not a "fix", but it is a workaround.
That would be a mistake for Mephala... I copied over the record incorrectly. It does seem that Mephala and Zenithar share the same blessing at fortify Speechcraft though..... I will think on what to change it too.
Ok cool. I've noticed the gods tend to favor swifter/lighter people with bonuses to light armor/one handed/blocking but nothing for heavy armor/two-handed ... too bad there aren't more gods!
You have a very good point. In version 1.1 I changed Akatosh's blessing to Fortify Heavy Armor. That one I think can still fit lore-wise. Not to mention there are already so many other sources for magicka regen.
an idea to consider would be to add a secondary benefit to each blessing to cover more ground because it's a bit biased due to the limited number of shrines. for example there is currently no blessing for two handed weapons, and the only fortify magic school is restoration.
although I'm not really sure if/what would make sense?
Each time you pray you will donate gold. Favor can be gained by the ways listed on the description. Praying a certain amount of times to the same shrine will also give you a favor bonus as well.
Prolly not a huge deal, the only gripe is they would cure diseases where the others would not... although it looks like they are rare with only 1 shrine each in the world so that's prolly fine!
The way I initially did it was quick and dirty to get something to display in the MCM menu at all. In order to get up-to-date current data in a clean way would require me to re-write the scripts. Which at this point i'm not completely opposed to. It will just take some time to get everything all done.
I don't use wintersun cause it seems to be "to much" for me, still admire the enai's work cause it's big, but your mod is the right "middle choice" to enhance the useless standard shrine system without overpower it and without to much complicated steps, the only thing i could miss in your mod is a "racial" buff/debuff, like if you're an argonian and could get +5% or -5% at base or empowered bonus depending on which god you choice to follow, beside this i'm surely gonna try it, thanks a lot!
That was my general idea. Wintersun was just too much for me, but blessings in the base game are boring as hell. I could consider a system where you get a buff if you pray a lot to a particular god. I was already trying to work out a way where if you pray to Talos enough times you will get a better buff.
I wanted this mod to be as less intrusive as possible though. So I wanted to stay away from message boxes and configuration/info powers and what not. So to implement a system like that would require some thinking on my part so the user doesn't get locked into a choice they didn't know about.
If another mod changes the timing of Dawn or Dusk or Night, will the shrines of Azura and Nocturnal follow those changes or will they continue to use the timings you listed in the description?
P.S. This will surely be my new favorite shrine mod. Thank you!
I made a mistake. I'm using Cathedral Weathers, which changes the times of Sunrise and Sunset (to 5-9am and 5-9 pm). Unless I'm mistaken, that doesn't affect Dawn/Dusk/Day/Night, and it already lines up perfectly with the settings you have here.
I used Cathedral Weathers too and was unaware it did that (Even though I made the MCM Menu for it...). The times I picked still line up in general with it. I'll take a look at it anyways though.
This is, imo, what a religion mod for Skyrim should be. No overpowered blessings, no hard requirements, no restricting choices. Just slightly improved vanilla blessings with a bit of controllable randomness. Really well done!
That being said, I'd like to know a couple of things: 1. How long do the blessings last? I find the vanilla 8h duration too short. 2. Is there a way to know in game how good is my relationship with a certain entity? Any message, like "[entity name] is [pleased by/resentful of/despises] you." showing up on shrine activation would do the trick for me.
As a final note, I think the best aspect of the mod is the way you linked quest outcomes with some deities worship. There's a few deities, though, that I feel like they could have got more nuance and detail. For example, Nocturnal when I become a Nightingale, Talos and Akatosh when I progress through the main quest, Julianos when I do jobs for the College's wizards, Auriel when I use corrupted arrows in Auriel's bow, etc.
Is it really so hard to make a screenshot of a shrine? I mean, the mod is about that. There's the feature "on hover you get information". So, why not showing that in a screenshot? Maybe it's a very ugly message, maybe it's not... And installing that mod and checking it would require for me a new playthrough (and new MO2 profile), implying time wasted. Just suggesting you should show features in mod description images or simply in mod images.

I'll take a look at the survival mode conflict if I have some time.
Just wondering how that works out.

I is confused.
Artifacts of the Breton Paladin? since it adds some new shrines/blessing?
*EDIT*
Done.

At the moment there is no way to tell how much favor you have. I'll think about some type of flavor text to add that gives an idea of where you stand.
I am certainly up to adding + and - favor requirements to the shrines, and I like some of your ideas.
