I'd encourage all to try and make funnies with Idiot Elf. That's where her real personality shines through and where she's best used! Posting pictures to the mod page is also highly appreciated!
So very many Idiot Elf lines have been written in the animated screenshots. Just thinking what this character would be like if such voiced lines of dialogue were incorporated into this mod. Probably enough dialogue to rival Vilja.
Hi. So I have her installed and have been using her as a follower for > 20 hours of game play. Besides one instance of her not using her weapon in a battle she behaves like any other follower. This is a bit embarrassing but should I expect odd behavior or is this just a vanilla follower with the images in the cartoons? I am using Nether's Follower Framework by the way. I am not sure if NFF changes any scripting inherent in Idiot Elf. After not noticing any real odd behavior after several hours I did dismiss Idiot Elf from NFF and toggled "use follower defaults" in the NFF/MCM menu and after asking Idiot Elf to follow again didn't alter her behavior. Again, I am not an oldrim player so I don't know the history of Idiot Elf, but was looking for something fun. At least in the NFF in my instance she is a fine follower but not really different from Janessa etc. Again, I apologize if I a missing something obvious.
Okay, cool. Thanks for the reply, that helps me retain my sanity, lol.If you guys start scripting to add bits to implement some idiot behavior perhaps I can help on the scripting side.
That... Is a bit more complex xD Oblivion has no follower system like Skyrim. I'd have to look into how Adoring Fan is set up xD Not on the table I'm afraid
I always felt in my mind that she would have more like the FemaleEvenToned voice type instead of the FemaleElfHaughty voice type which doesn't seem to suit her for some reason. Maybe someone can make her have custom lines spliced together even using the vanilla voice types like the way Amorous Adventures does?
I'm with you on that one AcenJay. We were restricted to vanilla voices. I had a good listen to them all and ended up with the DarkElf. The High Elf seemed even haughtier. In my mind she has a voice with an innocent English accent. (but that if probably because I live in UK).
If I were to splice lines I'd go crazy. I'm enough of a perfectionist as is. Isn't FemaleEvenToned Lydia's voice? That would be horrible. Feels like everyone uses that voice.
It would be fun if this Idiot Elf had some of the clever dialogue from the wonderful screenshot vignettes. Since Niborino is involved, how about some dialogue with Lucien?
I was fearing this comment would come lol. I hadn't planned on going as far as making her a fully custom voiced follower but it should at least be possible to make her more lively with some vanilla dialogue tinkering and make her fart and stuff.
As for Lucien: I'm not sure how much I can do with vanilla dialogue. It's tricky to get it right with vanilla dialogue. Lucien can say just about anything, but the other party cannot.
I know - but I'm simply not that clever and by all accounts it is a stupid amount of work. I could write scripts very easily for her... And I have the Idiots voice (eldest daughter). But that is the end of my talent I'm afraid.

You mean you have a choosen voice type just in mind (never looked into the child's voice types here sry ^^) or you mean you have recorded sound files of her idiotic comments already ?
She's not really a child any more (22 year old). Nope - Not recorded anything, but would not be hard to do. But in truth I know very little about making mods. Niborino is the clever fella here, and it's the implementation that takes the time and skill.
A more fully fleshed mod with Reimar's daughter voicing the Idiot Elf would be great. This could be the start of a rewarding collaborative effort between Reimar, his daughter, and Niborino. The daughter might find such a voice acting effort to be one of those satisfying accomplishments.
By Talos. I am busy at work with my own custom voiced follower. Idiot Elf is a side gig. I never said we were going along with such plans. It is good to know that the possibility exists, but there are no plans for it now.

Unfortunately it would take someone a lot cleverer than I, and it would take a stupid amount of time.
Edit: She will be kept as an .esp. Sounds like it could make it troublesome to add additional lines if the mod is an esl.
