Even though I used the spell to dismiss everything, I still can't get a human follower as they say I already have one...Also Lydia was my follower and now I can't find her. I'm playing on Skyrim VR

Type “²” or "`" or "~" key to get into console, and type:
set playeranimalcount to 0
With Amazing Follower Tweaks , or other mod with followers, if problem to dismiss the followers, you can uncheck this mod (AFT or other) when you launch the game
If problem with the Dialog Box of the followers/ companions (Wait - Follow - Trade - Favor - Dismiss) you can also enter / exit a house or make a fast travel"
I really like the look of that house. The exterior and even the interior look grimy with quirky placement of windows and other features that make it look genuinely "mediaeval" - like some of the unmodernised houses you can still find in rural France, for example (but I don't think I need to explain that to you, the mod author). I don't think I've ever seen anything as effective in Skyrim mods, let alone vanilla player homes.
