I'm a little confused x_x Which of the ELFX mods can I use LOS ll with? Do I need instal ELFX Shadows with the Exterior or do I just need ELFX only and LOS ll?
ELFX (without Exterior options) ELFX Shadows (Hardcore and without Exterior options) ELFX Shadows AE patch LOS ll
simple water and snow mods weather mod
ELFX Weathers truestorm merged compatibility
and again, the problems are specifically with LOS ll if I turn it off, everything works fine. Even just LOS ll without all the mods ELFX does not allow the game to start.
I put it higher and lower, whatever it doesn't work and i dont know why
All that I have installed now is basically just interface mods + Noble of Skyrim, SMIM and Weathers mod If I remove LOS ll, then nothing conflicts with anything else for me. I don't know what LOS ll might conflict with.

ok....i don't know why but after reinstalling LOS ll without installing the patch for USSEP the game starts. now i dont understand why with the patch for USSEP the game doesn't want to start if i use USSEP ._. on the installation screen when choosing the patch for SMIM and USSEP the checkbox was already checked only for the SMIM patch but not for USSEP
dumb question, because I'm setting up my load order for ELFX rn and I have ELFX, ELFX Exteriors Fixes, and ELFX Shadows and I also have the ELFX Weathers plugin. Vortex/LOOT has my order as
ELFX
ELFX Shadows
ELFX Exteriors Fixes
ELFX Weathers
patch
etc.
is that correct?
EDIT: actually, think I'll take your advice and ditch ELFX Exteriors and go with LoS II. hopefully fewer plugins to juggle and better results. Markarth is pitch black outside at night rn. Fires and lanterns everywhere, still can't see lol.
ELFX shadows fomod installer has ELFX Exteriors option, if I use LoS II, I don't need to check it, right? ok, I see the note in the LoS II compatiblity description
hi wizkid34, your mod is awesome, but I think Whiterun has too many torches, how can i remove some? Or how let Whiterun restore the original layout, thank you very much
Firstly Thank you sincerely for you modding dedication. I sincerely mean that! I love the soft flame like glow created by this mod. It makes my NPC's look stunning in this light. That said....
When I use this mod the sunlight rays have no color texture. its just white and blinding. I have all the patches and fixes. I am not sure where the issue is.
I'm using a back ported skyrim 1.5.9x. I have loot and all the patches are recognized.
I'm sorry for your issue but ELFX Exteriors Fixes has nothing to do with the sun's rays, it probably depends either on the weather mod you are using or on the ENB preset
I noticed that a couple of braziers on the path leading to Whiterun gate seem to be lit, but are missing the flames -> see screenshots with console information here: https://imgur.com/a/VaGZoXG
Also, I have two braziers at the Whiterun gate, which are empty and not lit, but console says they are handled by EFLX Exteriors: https://imgur.com/a/C5CEMA1
After installing any version of ELFX Exteriors, yours or the original, smoke from braziers starts switching between illuminated and unlit views from different viewing angles. Is there any way to fix this?

wizkid, the smoke issue has been solved when using your wonderful mod Tamriel Master Lights (the smoke doesn't get illuminated any more).
The Disco flame thing unfortunately is still present, BUT only in combination with Embers XD.
I had a little chat with mindflux about that and he thinks it's caused by adaption which is something I'm not really sure if I understood it right how that works or what it does in game (despite the fact that I don't know how to adjust that in game, assuming that it's even possible).
But for my understanding so far if this adaption thing is the cause shouldn't that be a something which is omnipresent, no matter what mod is active?
It only occurs when I combine an exterior lighting mod, e.g. TML or ELFX exteriors (Fixes) with Embers XD.
Sorry for bothering you with that, just thought you could be the one modding hero who can "enlight" me and others and help solving at least the smoke illuminating issue with ELFX ext. Fixes (and in best case the flame thing too).

You find one short after leaving riverwood before the bridge on the right and the other one is directly after the bridge.
Those two are from the videos, but all of the braziers between Riverwood and Whiterun are affected. Just as an information for the sake of completeness.
I tried to give ELFX exteriors a chance but this issue was driving me absolutely up the wall. It'd be okay if it flickered far away but sometimes it does it right in your face. I had to ditch it and start a new game. Unfortunately this is just an issue with Skyrim's engine, the shadow limit (not the light limit).
Lux orbis might not have this problem, but I don't like Lux. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too, so vanilla it is.

The meshes "fxsmokechimney01.nif" and "fxsmokechimney02.nif" are the problem, I tried to fix them but with no success.
Any ideas anyone?
