"Seriously, what makes people think this is an appropriate comment?"

    Right on, hard pass.

I get that it's a lot of work to make changes to a mod, and that you don't have to bend to everybody's whims, but jesus, dude, your PR skills need some work.

A simple "No" or "That wasn't my goal when making this" would suffice.

I should have expected this kind of reaction, but in all honestly, I guess I was made the fool.

It's a real show of character. Seriously. I appreciate you showing me just how mature you really are. It's a miracle that people like you function day to day when simple criticism causes an absolute mental breakdown.

I hope things get better. Seriously, I do! Such volatile behaviour can't be caused by good fortune.

Well, tbh I consider this answer pretty based. People are like "mod is dumb. fix it." And if the mod author says no, they are trying to make him feel like a bad person, or blackmailing him with boycott, for not updating. Just don't use the mod if you don't like it - simple. It's not like you paid for it or something.

Love the idea of this mod, it may not be perfect, but this kind of thing would greatly affect to economy of the game, while not even being economy mod. I have been looking wrong way around the common problem in economy.

Dear Lofgren :) Please don't abandon this mod. Because you are awesome :D

This mod deserve a update, For example,
I always wonder, how the player can loot and wear, dead bandit belonging armors.
If bandit is dead, his armor must be broken, right? ah... that would be very immersive a mod that "prevent dead body armor&shield looting " :)

i would also like to see a new version. please no offense, I like the idea, but the current rules are dumb. how do people magically know what is missing from a crypt, dwemer ruin or a bandit camp, nobody will come looking for it. its just an extra layer of annoyance and more shop trips for what sake? its not immersion

can you elaborate? sorry if i somehow hurt your feelings. i just think a "lite" approach would make more sense, where town corpses, forts and other count as stealing. but a bandit's apple? in a secret hideout middle of nowhere? hardly a "stop right there criminal scum" scenario

by that logic how does the npcs know anything at all is stolen? lol use your brain: "where could this guy find all this stuff he is trying to sell? he is not even a merchant so its definitely all stolen!" this mod is great to make skyrim's economy harder, i like it

word of mouth for example. you steal things from people in the game. not from looting desolate crypts.

if you want to make your game a chore and deprive it of common sense then please feel free to download this pointless mod

Immersion Comment: You're a trader, I'm dragonborn, and I walking your store, and i say,
Hey i have some soul gem, ancient nordic sword and some gems, and also my health is low and my body is bloodly,

      What would you thinking?
you would say: keep your bloody items yourself :D
I dont wanna any involve that.!

I Think this mod is good, just need script update, and less system taxing , have fun!

I love the idea of this mod but I think it lacks nuance.

    > Bandit camps

If I go to a bandit camp in Markarth and kill everybody, are you telling me Belethor in Whiterun knows the potion and the sword I grabbed as loot is stolen? How? He could have the suspicion the Dragonborn sells too many swords, too frequently but he has no proof the items are stolen. My character could be a good smith for all he knows.

Yes, technically you stole from the dead bandits but mechanically this shouldn't apply in-game because there is simply no way for the shop owners back in the cities to know where the goods came from. Bandits tend to have gold, potions and maybe some enchanted weapons. No way for Belethor to know if gold, potions and such are stolen or not. And regarding enchanting weapons, unless they are truly unique items with unique designs, he wouldn't know either. The only way he sells enchanted weapons himself is because he probably ordered those weapons to make or was sold one by the local enchanter, etc...

    > Nord crypts

I agree that desecrating Nord ruins is probably heavily frowned upon in Skyrim but I think the reasons why you don't see adventurers raiding these tombs left and right have little to do with that. First of all, these are not the tombs of their ancestors, most of them, anyway. The majority of these ruins are linked to dragon worshippers and priests from ancient times and people in Skyrim are superstitious. They would want nothing to do with that even if there is a potential benefit. And then, of course, there is the danger to consider. So, only for the superstition aspect alone, most people would want nothing to do with those items. They might think stealing from those tombs bring bad luck or the items are cursed.

Farengar sends you to Bleak Falls Barrow for the dragon stone and there are more quests linked to even the main quest where you are expected to raid crypts and not only you don't become a pariah for during so but you become a hero. So, as I said, I don't think it's a question of respecting those tombs (because, in general, they don't belong to their direct ancestors but to members of an ancient dragon cult who delved into necromancy) but the fear of being cursed due to superstition. That's why people who are more knowledgeable like sorcerers, the jarls, don't doubt of sending you on a mission there because they are more educated and they don't believe in those superstitions most people might have.

So maybe Belethor would morally trade with you but he is not willing to put his business at risk gaining the animosity of nords that might feel he is cursing the town.

    > Dwemmer ruins

Trading Dwemer artifacts is Illegal under Imperial law. All Dwemer ruins and artifacts are the property of the Emperor. These are also highly dangerous places that have the ability to repair their own defenses, as Neloth implies. So yeah, it should be illegal. And very dangerous.

    >Forsworn deal with Hagravens and dark magic. This should be a red flag for most people. Again, superstition would be a factor here as well. And their items are very distinct. I doubt shopkeepers would want their items as they would also think of curses and a drop in reputation to their establishment.

    > Bandit and Forsworn fences

Bandits are not traders. If they feel you are weak, you are loot. That's how they make a living, they kill and rob. It doesn't make sense for them to have a trader.

Forsworn attack you on sight. They are not interested in trading with outsiders.

    > Looting dead bodies in towns

Nords believe in the right of conquest. So if someone challenges you or attacks you and you defeat him/her, it's your right to keep their valuables.

    -------------

So my suggestion would be to have a version of this mod with the following changes:

1 Only looting from Nord crypts, Dwemer ruins and Forsworn camps or corpses from these places marks your items as stolen for the reasons mentioned above.

2 Remove the Bandit and Forsworn fences.

3 Looting from dead bodies in cities seeing as crime removed (Maybe?)

(P.S.: I am torn about nº 3 because while if someone attacks you and you kill them, you have the right of conquest, other NPCs killed in cities (not by your hand) should be off-limits, logically. But I think in some quests the game also expects you to loot specific items from bodies in cities so nº 3 could go either way. I personally like the idea except when someone challenges you. But maybe it breaks some quests. Maybe nº 3 should be a completely separate optional file on its own),

In conclusion, it would be nice to see a new version / optional file with at least nº 1 and 2 as changes. Great work! Kudos.

Entirely different mod for removing the bandits' goods from the stolen category and removing the fences? Ok, bro...

I never assumed you would make it to my whims or anything of the sort (that's actually an assumption you have made). This was meant just as feedback for a possible optional file, but you obviously took it the wrong way. Otherwise, you would realize that If someone bothers to post a wall of text on your mod page is because they genuinely like your mod and are invested in your idea. But you obviously didn't realize that. It doesn't matter now anyway. Have a good one!

What it looks like is that your entirely subjective and personal opinions about how things should work do not agree with my entirely subjective and personal opinions about how things ought to work, and instead of just downloading the mod and using the MCM to disable the features you don't like to make it work the way that you want it to, or making your own version, or simply not using the mod, you wrote a wall of text complaining about my take on things and requesting a new version.

Now you're trying to play it off like actually you wrote 1000 words telling me why my design choices are bad because you were just trying to pay me a compliment. Are you also the kind of person who approaches women in bars and tells them they could be cute if they just lost 20 pounds and changed their hairstyle and then acts bewildered when they get offended?

Also, I"m the one assuming that you wanted a new version? You literally requested it! After asking me to read a 1000 word essay about how bad my own opinions are!

"it would be nice to see a new version" Meaning it would be cool but that's all. Never requested anything. And didn't ask you to read my comment either (you could have just ignored / deleted it if you were so seemingly offended by it). Also, I never said your opinions/design choices are bad, I only said the mod lacked nuance (what a sin!) which I think would be a fair thing to say and nothing necessarily bad. I never expected you to take that to heart because I never wrote anything with ill intent. I genuinely liked the idea of your mod otherwise I wouldn't have bothered commenting. Think whatever you want. I wasn't trying to play my comment off as anything. And I did download your mod. The rest of your comment seems out of place and unfortunate.

There's a mod that sets a minimum septum value for what could be considered stolen.  I'm using that with this and it's awesome.

I love this mod a lot, It completely changes how I play the game. The only bug I've witnessed was if you have quick loot then when going over a body it says that it's not stolen, only when you open the search menu it changes to stolen. Not a big deal, something I can definitely work around but if you could fix that then that'll be cool. Besides that thanks for the mod!

LOL lots of negative feedback here. In defense of the mod author, any one who want to provide a patch that brings some "lite" aspect to this mod is welcome to do so because the mod author has graciously allowed that acc. to the Permissions on the main page. It takes a LOT of effort to create mods like this and I'm glad we have the option of using them (or not). Just remember that any patch you create must follow the nexus guidelines, meaning it cannot be a hacked replacement, it has to be a PATCH which requires this as the master.

A cool idea but far too restrictive. This nullifies almost all loot gains. Either one spends a while searching fot the Khajiit or remain poor.

On that note; do the Khajiit caravans carry more gold to compensate the fewer merchants available to sell to?

Maybe make a threshold where an item above a certain value wood be considered stolen. Shopkeeps wouldn't know where I got the Iron Dagger I'm trying to sell them but Steel Armor would raise some eyebrows. You could make a speech check. That the Dragonborn 'convinced' the shopkeeper that 'no, this isn't stolen. I bought it elsewhere.'

That last part might be too difficult to implement though. Regardless, as it stands, it's a bit too harsh in my opinion.

You're literally complaining about the whole point of the mod. Easy solution: don't use it. Why is this suddenly so hard for people?
