Installed with Vortex and loaded a save just before arriving to the spot, and found that SOB. He joined me and did as he was told. Just as advertised.

Edit: On the way back to town, a courier delivered to me a letter of inheritance.
It reads, "In the name of Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak, it is with great regret that we inform you of Servant of Boethiah's death. The deceased has bequeathed unto you a measure of inheritance in the amount of 300 gold pieces."
I had the same issue as some others, unable to actually talk to him at all. I just have skse and skyui, no follower mods or dialog mods, but he just doesn't want to talk to me. Ah well

No matter what I do, this guy cannot be recruited. All he does is that megaphone-ish "HEY!" I then tried to force him to follow, via Amazing Follower Tweaks, but he still will not respond to orders.
that is really really odd. can you try to disable a few of your follower mods then see if he responds then? I have no had an problems. also try to disable this then re-enable this. must be a conflict with a mod perhaps try to move it around in your list to the very very bottom of the load order too and disable as much mods as you can then try again. I think putting this as the last mod on Load Order should do it
Vortex does not have a button to manually move mods, no matter how many times I have posted to do exactly that. Wherever Vortex put it is where it lives.
can you change the load order in the games menu? under mods? or not I dont know about vortex at all? if not. you can go to (C:)users,User,AppData,Local,SSE(or just search AppData) and edit the plugins text file. then move the mod to the bottom save it then revert back. just be sure to save a copy of it in case you need it.
you could start to disable as much mods as you safely can starting from bottom till you get to my mod. any conflict you have will be from a mod that is bellow mine.

if not you can just straight up use a normal follower. but with your track record using console commands ummmm lets wait on that
Dude, I have the same problem and I even start a new game with only 3 DLC´s. It dosen´t work. Console comands can´t even find it. Mabey needs an update?
I will look into it. but its worked fine for me, I would say mess around with the Load Order because honestly this is just a simple follower for Skyrim SE to kill I dont know how it could be messing up

yes I am a Christian and I just feel its important to spread news about the Lord if you can in a non judgmental and positive way in every part of life. I think that most people on nexus with nudes and extra violent mods all around might forget about Jesus and that he is very much watching the choices you make because they do matter.
i would like to see a mod that adds Christendom into this game... so like a religion or a "god" that you don't need a shrine to pray to... you just use it like a power or something and it gives you the blessing... anywhere anytime... :D
kinda but theres not a religion mod for it exactly.. so i've mainly just been a hunter of vampires werewolfs and the undead.. without being dragon-born... I be using crossbows and flintlocks with blessed bullets to hunt these beasts... anything that preys on innocents will be hunted down and brought to justice.... so that includes bandits and those kinds of people...
its fun and challenge because I don't have shouts and stuff but its still really fun

Reading this thread and wondering: Could you make a necklace with a Cross?I don’t care about shouts and spells, but a cross that’s enchantable would be great! Have 10 of them in a box somewhere and I can equip them on followers too. Or I can reverse pickpocket people and “convert” them :). Maybe a bible book mod? I’m surprised nobody has done this yet.
I think after 2000+ years people have gotten the message. All due respect to you it is still somewhat disconcerting to mention it like the Nords are heathens without being saved or us mod users, since you cannot tell who believes and who does not sitting behind a computer screen for all you know you may already indeed be preaching to the choir so to speak.
I believe this is the main crux of any issue with Christianity and Catholicism. Let people be saved by random chance, convert at church not a modding website. It comes across as droll and ignorant in my opinion. Be proud of it of course but the world of the Elder Scroll lore already has Crusaders of a sort.
Original Skyrim had several expendable follower mods for exactly this purpose. I have been searching for something on Special Edition, but not even a single one had been ported over. I even Googled console commands, so I can recruit the first random NPC I see on the road, so I don't need to lose named characters. Those commands didn't work. Well, so much for that Boethia quest.

agree when SSE came out a bunch of people were already sick of the game so they just forgot about mods they made and never got around to port stuff. I appreciate the support thank you and enjoy.
