I swear for the love of God I can't get mine to be black. I downloaded the other mod that's required for this one, and followed the steps provided by another commenter that said the mod author did the meshes wrong, yet whenever I open the game it has this dull grey/ blackish color to it.
When I install this mod and Reiko Samurai Armor Full Retexture, I got purple armors, then I realize the textures are missing. The problem is that cain9580's MOD (not this one) have a “wrong” path in the package. To fix this, unpack that mod, and just put the meshes and textures folder out of the "data" (not skyrim data folder, there is an additional data folder in the package). Additionally, ?The UNP neckline part of the female mesh is exploding in game, this is caused by the max weight file cuirass_1.nif and the minimum weight file cuirass_0.nif are not match. I guess the author edit these .nif files separately, and I think build these files by BodySlide maybe a better way. I hope I have made myself clear.
still pretty unclear, I'm using Mod Organizer 2 and I have no clue how to install this mod or how to do it manually. For reference, I can still craft the Armor but keeps coming out Purple.
No matter what I do, this mod basically refuses to work properly. I can forge the armor, I can equip it, I can even see the helmet; but the entire rest of my character's body is invisible. I re-packed the base mod this is working off of so that the .esp and the meshes/textures folders were on the same "level" and then installed it. Afterward, I installed this mod and let it overwrite it, then sorted everything with LOOT. No matter where it was in the load order, the armor was just completely invisible. What do I have to do to make it appear? I'm playing a female Khajiit, and I figured it might be a case of the armor just not being rigged for beast races or something but even when opening the character creation menu and changing to a human race, my head was the only part of my body that remained visible. Could it be that my character is female? Do I have to make some kind of pact with a dark god to make the armor visible? Please, if anyone knows what to do, I would greatly appreciate it.
So, when I made my Khajiit a male, it worked, but his eyeballs were floating outside of his head and just in front of the mask. Unsettling to say the least. This doesn't happen with human races, however. Now that I've made my character a Nord, everything seems fine, except for the first-person meshes. Wherever skin would be exposed is this bright purple-ish white texture that's really jarring and annoying. I think this may be the fault of another mod I'm using, I'll experiment a little more to see. Kind of a big shame this mod just doesn't work with female characters, but whatever.
Yeah, it doesn't matter which other mods I uninstall, none of the ones that would possibly, conceivably interfere with this one appear to be the culprit. This mod is really cool, I just wish it worked and/or the creator could be bothered to update it with a fix.
Since the mod author has gone MIA for this version of the mod, I've introduced my own with pathing fixes, a black retexture, and optional edits to the helmet mesh (Giving credit where it is due, of course!).
