Life has been a little hectic, but I'm back to share this. This originated as part of a larger project, one that ended up getting shoved on the back burner due to frustration and real life complications. One of the mod's mechanics was so erratic and fired so often that amid fits of laughter, it was dubbed Immersive Anxiety.
This mod, based on that one mechanic, is an April Fools' Day joke. It is lightweight, meant to have minimal impact, and only has a few small scripts to make it function.
If you wish to stop the mod for any reason, its features can be disabled completely by using the console, letting you resume your adventures without fear. Literally.
I'm getting the following warning when running Wrye Bash: "The following plugins have header versions that are not valid for this game. This may mean that they are actually intended to be used for a different game: ImmersiveAnxiety.esp Tried resaving plugin in the Creation Kit. Didn't work. Also get the following, with Wrye Bash's "Check Plugins" app (don't know why TES4 is mentioned): Invalid TES4 versions The following plugins have a TES4 version that isn't recognized as one of the standard versions (0.94, 1.7). This is undefined behavior. It can possibly be corrected by resaving the plugins in the Creation Kit. • ImmersiveAnxiety.esp: 1.710000
I find this curious, but I don't think you'll have any problems using mods with version header 1.71. I installed the current Wrye Bash to check things out, and it gives the same warning for the base game and its DLC, including certain Creation Club files. Then I went and looked at the same files in SSEEdit to confirm that they had the version header in common.
I suspect 1.71 is simply the new header as of yesterday's SSE and Creation Kit updates, while Wrye Bash version 311 doesn't expect this yet and throws an exception to notify the user just in case.
This is actually a genius idea, with a bit more dev time it could become something more serious like the new Reputation mod. Hope this will become something more :)
This is absolutely brilliant. The interjections are so on the nail. I found the frequency a bit OTT ... whilst totally realistic it did get a bit intrusive after a while. Very easily adjusted though, I changed it to about 9%. I do still want SOME escapism in Skyrim : -)
I'm just missing one or two moments from real life ...
"You trip over your own feet for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Your efforts to stumble gracefully are a miserable failure and just make it worse."
"Your constant internal dialogue distracts you, causing you to take a wrong turning. You must stop walking, pretend that you've forgotten something important, and do a u-turn."
"You hover uncomfortably on the edge of a group conversation, your crippling shyness makes you unable to break in. You walk away, pretending that you've just remembered something important that you have to do immediately."
I know it's a humor mod, but what does it actually do? I'm in the middle of setting up a LO for myself and friends (preparing for that multiplayer mod) does it apply debuffs?
my friend steve from FB group skyrim hoarder he shared this post i got very interested but i was hoping it was on SLD not on SSE i really love this idea!

Is that like a message pop-up or something or a debuff?

Honestly though, this is a funny idea and one that makes you think about the mental stability of the Dragonborn after all he's been through.
