Wow, downloads and endorsements! I'm very glad some of you find this silly little mod useful. I'm planning on doing at least three more similar mods in the next 8 - 10 years. Stay tuned.

Always happy to run across this statue in Whiterun. It adds a touch of antiquity to Whiterun to have this clearly ancient statue to a goddess that no one in Whiterun worships anymore.

The question is still relevant whether or not it's a prehistoric figure. I read a theory is pregnant women made these types of statues because mirrors did not exist so they thought they looked like that. Scarcity of food so this is ideal of beauty? Doubt it. I did some research and found women store DHA fat (a type of omega-3) in thighs and that is used a lot for the brain of the baby so larger thighs = intelligent baby. Apparently omega-3 is more rare in the American diet so women need to store more fat to hopefully get enough omega-3. We know men like when the waist to hip ratio of (0.7). If the woman was not pregnant then we would probably see the thinner waist more easily. It's not a fetish because it's a legitimate representation of an ideal.

Whether you think MikahBones is trying to look smart or not, this is actually correct. As silly as you may think this statue looks, it is nothing compared to the real deal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_figurines

And if you think that's silly, look up the male version.

      @ LapisLazuli01
Yes, absolutely. Although technically it is lore unfriendly to suggest that people worship other things that is not one of the Nine Divines, I just though this looked cool and wanted to share with you all.

When LapisLazuli01 said fetish, he didn't mean an abnormal sexual fixation. Fetish (came from the Latin word facticius, meaning "artificial,") originally meant an object that is believed to have magical power. A fertility statue being worshiped in order to gain pregnancy is indeed a type a fetish.

The model is very accurate as many paleolithic figures found.
The silliness is why to place such a statue to... Skyrim - in general!

I'm actually taking an Art History class (Survey of Art 1) and people once thought that the figurines were for pregnancy or a female deity or a female earth. It seems that it is most likely a deity or talisman or something similar that was used to prevent starvation and help find food, often for the sake of having healthy children. In prehistoric times you could not walk 5 minutes and get your full fruits and vegetables in one place called the grocery store. You had to have whole communities of women gather nuts, seeds, berries, fruits, - anything edible that they could find - over several miles. Just to have enough to somewhat feed everybody. The men hoped to catch an animal for everybody's desert (no steak for main course) but they often did not get one. Starvation was high and when their was children, the women really needed to eat. Mortality rate was high and so was infant mortality rate. The figurines were for survival and health both for the adults and the children and in hopes for the soon-to-be-born children. They made fat male and female figurines because everyone was very skinny.

To be truthful, the reason I like this mod is because it adds Jsashe to the game. As a lore nerd, I really really dig stuff like this, so I'm downloading it ASAP.

Just a quick question, if I were to use this with Dawn of Skyrim, the only problem would be that this replaces the Ysgrammor statue, right? Edit 16/05/19: Nope, definetly not compatible at all, both statues clip horribly! Would it be possible to request a patch that moves or erases Ysgrammor's statue?

Also, would you consider converting this to a .esl?

Hello. I personally don't use Dawn of Whiterun so I might not be able to make a patch at the moment.
I will consider making it an .esl in the future, but I'm busy with other things atm, so no date for it yet.

It has been done before on the Oldrim. I am not the one to make that happen, though, due to my lack of skills.
