Proper uninstallation is a lie, removing a mod without consequence is a lie.
Some mod updates may not require a new save 90% of the rest of they will. 100% of the time is suggested.
Some plugins will save you from a lot of crashes, that is good. Some others will delete some data from your save that is also fine. But disinstalling a mod mid-save with skyrim will ALWAYS means that the save is corrupted.

How i activate the mod? The mod activates itself at the start of the game.
How i pick up a book? By default, activate to pick up and activate immediately followed by grab (hold E on pc) to read and other features like learn directly a spell book etc. (See the most recent changelog)
How do i access to all the options (Skse version)? MCM menu.
I've picked up a book, and a quest was supposed to start, why it doesn't?
Load a save and read it. Or Just read it in the inventory. Or drop the book and read it. You get the picture. (For the record, this is not a mod issue. It's just how whoever decided how the quest would start.)
Really like this mod, but I've ran into an issue. Why is it not under bugs? Well, because it doesn't have to do with the functionality of this mod. Instead it's about an incompatbility... with The Forgotten City. Picking up notes and such or reading them after pressing E and then holding E right after does not activate the triggers that TFC relies on. Futher more in that mod, most notes aren't meant to be able to be picked up.
This is less a request to fix since this could be considered a thing that is outside this mod's scope, and more a warning. The two mods aren't compatible, and if you activate both in your game, you won't be able to play TFC properly. And you can't just disable this mod so yeah.
I humbly think this comment should be pinned because the description didn't make it clear to me how to perform these two actions, as I was always picking up unread books and didn't know how to read them without grab them to the inventory. The description mentions "tap activate and grab to read," but your "the second tap holds the button down" makes much more sense to me. Yes, I know I'm probably just a fool, but English is not my native language, and the second sentence makes more sense to me. I also confirm that it works using a gamepad too. This mod is a hidden gem, thanks. Cheers!
I'd been using this mod without issues for a pretty long time, and it's been a solid fixture of my modlist. But for some reason with my latest new game save, it hasn't been behaving the way it used to. Regular books and notes still get picked up without being read, while skill books (and only skill books) auto-read on pickup. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue, but is there any way to change this behavior?
EDIT: Looks like this bug is caused by a conflict with Training Options.
I think I'll use this mod after completing all the quests, because sometimes this mod bugs the quest when the game forces you too read a book or letter first when you pick it up. Im not saying this mod is broken or something; it's just this game sometimes doesn't allow you to read it later.
So what happened to my game is the "Black Book: The Winds of Change" quest got bugged when I tried to read Black Book in the inventory, the quest didn't track the objective, and there was no hermaeus mora voice for that quest, only silence. its not 100% bugged; I can still continue finding the black books and get the power, but the quest still listed in my journals.
Tapping and hold slightly moves the book, and is considered stealing. For some reason, cannot deactivate stealing toggle option. Once untoggle and exit the menu, it is automatically toggled back on.

Copy/paste this into Skyrim.ini and be happy.

Double tapping E (fast!) and holding the second time just makes me read AND grab the book.

Double tap Activate button (E default), but on the second tap, hold the button down.
I can now pick up books without the annoying reading pop-up animation.
Thanks.

Do I need to exit the game and turn it off in mod manager each time?
double-taptap and hold works to read, at least on SSE 1.6.1170For some reason, cannot deactivate stealing toggle option.
Once untoggle and exit the menu, it is automatically toggled back on.
