I have been setting some of these up to help customize a follower, and what you basically have to do is (1) know what you want in advance, and (2) open up the Creation Kit and check each Armor entry to see what slots are used, then (3) compare them with their counterpart in Armor Addon to make sure everything matches up.
Some of the belts are a bit tricky and overlap with other slots, but things like pouches generally adhere to the following pattern:
People are inept at SEEING. That guy, instead of asking and being as blind, but less "lolz, Im too cool to ask, so Ill be flip about it and edgy", is an example of the BULK of the people in nexus. Those are the same people that say OMG I love X, BUT...BUT..A,B,C..could you make a patch?
WHY would you ever enable comments in a mod you released ? Seems like a sure fire train ride to hostility town. i assume that's why so many use the 2 hubs to "host" a discord chat for questions.
Love the mod, used it for years, new build, came to grab and say THANKS..then saw KoOl KidS post and the captain obvious failure, and had to add to the "Thanks ":) I mean, he has SKyUI and also does not know how to use that...so..what can ya expect. The Plug'n'Play generation should be the descriptor

I comb through +30 mods a day reviewing various descriptions/images - Description on the front of the mod page would be more logical than burying it in the images (No offense to the mod author) - Regardless, my question is answered through the community, no more confusion or issues

Sorry for any "problems" or "troubles" I/They have caused.
The mod seems to be incompatible with belt lantern - after you equip lantern from this mod a poach appears with it witch you can't remove aftewards. This poach persists on every armor even after you remove the bandolier mod. took me half a day to find out the problem
i'm having a bit of a crazy bug that I'm not sure how to fix. whenever I try to wear one of the pouches with vials on them it doesn't work. The first attempt after launching my game will kick me out of the inventory menu when i do it, attempts after that nothing will happen and it doesnt kick me out of inventory. after triggering this, im no longer able to drink any potions (which sounds suspiciously related though I don't know why it would be. other bags or pouches that don't have vials will still work fine even after triggering the issue).
Additional context is that I use Ultimate animated potions, so maybe theres something preventing the animation from happening. And I also use a patch for CCOR. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this or how to solve it? it seems so random... thanks!
Anybody know if someone has made a patch for the AE armors? I notice some clipping with the pouches on Nordic armor, for instance.
Edit: probably will have to learn how to use Outfit Studio to customize my character's gear meshes to be compatible. Cloaks of Skyrim + this + AE armors is a fiasco.
So I ended up fixing most of my issues. However, there is one bug that is bothering me, and it is the wonky vertex coloring on the left-side pouches:

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have heard you can do this in NifSkope, which I am not very familiar with it, and I cannot find any flags for vertex colors when I load the meshes into it. In fact, I can't even get the textures to show up there at all.
When I view the box pouches in Outfit Studio, they get loaded with the default leather textures, which do not display the coloring bug seen in the screenshot. Same thing when I view them in the Creation Kit.
Not for me. The shoulderpad and Bandoliers don't show up on a female character. Probably a mod conflict. I did notice that whenever I used the grimoire from Practical Necromancy, it unequips my bandolier. I need to test it to be sure.
There is a problem with this mod's left side pouches taking slot 52. If you are using mods that take that slot (like SOS), pouch will remove armor and you'll start seeing imperials (who can randomly receive pouches, or others if you use mod that gives pouches to NPCs) walking naked. To fix that, load DR_bandolier esp with SSEedit (and other esps that touch bandoliers in your game, like the ones that distribute pouches to NPCs) and go to "armor" and "armor addon" sections. There, you will have to go through each item and look for BOD2_Biped Body Template ---> First Person Flags (sorted). If under that line you see "52" change it to something else (I use 45). To do that, press on that line with '52' twice, say 'yes' to warning, uncheck 52 and check 45. Press anywhere else to confirm and go to next item repeating this. You should find 8 such entries that has 52. Check if you have 8 bolded items now in each armor and armor addon categories. All of those entries should say "side left" or end in 'SL'. Now just close SSEedit, and in pop up window you should only see DR_Bandolier.esp (and/or any other mod that you've fixed related to bandoliers) checked. If so, press ok and that's it. If not, you've done something wrong. Don't save! Uncheck everything, close, open sseedit again and repeat everything from start.
Thanks a lot. I was fed up with those naked soldiers. Still I'd rather remove the pouches from the leveled lists entirely than change their equip slot. But I admit I never tinkered with leveled lists in TesEdit... Would you know how to do that ?
I'm seeing this issue even on NordRace. Walked into Whiterun and Idolaf Battle-born was completely naked with a bandolier and no package down below the belt. Thinking of removing the mod but it might be more trouble then it's worth as its integrated into my leveled lists now :(

Aureus: Go into SSEEdit -> Load up the plugin -> Expand the plugin -> right click leveled item -> remove -> close out and save plugin.
Could someone who has done this upload a fixed file somewhere please? I'm trying to do this, but SSEdit won't open files managed by mod organiser, and I can't get the creation kit to open at all, so I literally cannot do this for myself
Are you using Mod Organizer or Mod Organizer 2. My understanding is the former doesn't work well with SE. I can run SSEdit through MO2 just fine (but I had the same problem with the Creation Kit that you did).
Looks like it's mod organiser. But I really don't want to have to screw my whole game up reinstalling everything with a new mod organiser. Apart from this issue I have everything running well for the first time and I just want to not have to destroy everything to fix it (I've done that so many times with ES games over the years). If you just uploaded the fixed ESP as a patch (the rest of the mod would still be required to run it) I'm pretty sure that's within the rules and ethics of the community!
(Edit, double checked and it's MO2 anyway, so there is nothing I can do)
And answering a previous question... It's not a good idea to mess with SOS unless you know what you're doing. Bandolier is far simpler even if you need to correct more than one item.
Hey. just wanted to say thanks very much indeed - I love this mod. The fix was related to the character rather than NPCs - I edited the Armor list rather than the ArmorAddon list, and it worked a treat. Never edited through xedit before. I placed the pouches in slot 45 as recommended but found that the collars from immersive armors use that too, so changed those to slot 46 using my newfound skill. Thanks very much.

Other mods (nails, jewelry, etc) state which slots they use.
Often run into a problem where I equip a cloak or ring for my Left/right Back Pouch to be unequiped.
