    Version 1.41 is now up, fixes the player ref issue that some people were having with previous save games, plus the "save and die" is now "save and stop", where the mod stops most of it's scripts and disables the dialogues, then saves, then says "reload to continue". This removes the repeated save/die loop.

    If you're not around anyone that is "important" (quest giver), you'll stay in the Vampire Faction, guards may attack you on sight if they hate vampires.  Depends on the guard.  So yes, stealth and such is important to a vampire.

    Nice mod.
    But I can't go into towns alone because at least guards attack me on sight. Is this intended?
    I'm completely alone, have no other vampires with me and never grouped with any vampire.
    It's immersive of course but tricky to barter stuff with vendors.

    And MCM would be nice.

    For me other vampires don't attack me with this mod, but when i group up with them and go to, for example riverwood, neither my vampires nor the guards attack one another.
    If I part ways with my vampires they will attack anyone except me and other vampires.
    In the Better Vampires MCM under faction relations it says that "You are NOT in the hated VampirePCFaction"
    Which is fine because I didn't plan on raiding towns anyway but I thought I could still share this bug

    P.S If I attack a guard they will aggro on me as well as some citizens sometimes, and my vampire hunting group will attack them too
    If I attack with the vampire group I don't get a bounty, but if I attack alone I do get a bounty

      Well, this is what happens:

      1.  You're an alone vampire:  People treat you normally in towns.
      2.  You've got at least 1 vampire/hound following you:  Vampires like you, mortals don't.

      When near a quest/essential NPC:

      1. You're an alone vampire:  The PC will wind up back in the Player Factions as normal, so things behave.
      2. You've got at least 1 vampire/hound following you:  Vampires like you, mortals don't.

      When you're near other vampires (including your group):

      You're not in the Player Factions, you're in the Vampire Faction (that other vampires are in), so those friendly to that faction will not bother you.

      For issues where town folk won't attack you, that is usually caused by them wanting to flee (or they're brave enough not to).  When you get near town, pushing "T" (wait) will give you a tell-tale way of telling of an enemy in the town.  I have walked in after the guards are all gone with a full group and people don't do anything, except cower.

      This mod works based on whether or not you're a vampire before or after installation, it doesn't see your progress, it just checks if you're a vampire or not and works accordingly.

    I use better vampires mod with AE and as far as i can say everyone becomes hostile to you with this mod. Needs an update. (mid game install)

      Can you be more specific?  Who all becomes hostile, also using BV with AE.

      Mid or fresh start, this mod doesn't really make any difference, the mod "boots up" the same way, works with the vanilla game, meaning it can be added/removed as wanted without worries of bloat after removal, so who becomes hostile and did you have a group going?

      Thank you for your fast reply i was in Falkreth and everyone (guards and denizens) basicly become hostile. Does this mod makes all mortals enemies and undeath ally ?

      This merely makes the player a member of the Vampire Faction, it also removes the player from the Player Faction (unless near an essential/quest NPC and not in a group and not in combat).  If you have a following vampire/thrall, you're classed as a "Vampire group attacking the town" and then yes, they'll all get hostile.  Best ask the group to "wait here" and then when the group disbands, you can safely go into town alone.

      The Vampire Faction gives you the same relationships as other in-game vampires get.

    Just 2 notes:

    1.)  Some Vampire mods let you turn characters into vampires, if left out in the world during a cell reset and you're not present, they'll lose their "undead-ness" and thus will not appear as a vampire.  This can cause all sorts of issue, which I haven't done anything about as the vanilla game doesn't offer this (except your spouse).

    2.)  The faction system in Skyrim from Oblivion is a hassle, as you cannot "really" remove someone from a faction their base object is set to, you can only make them an enemy of it (which is just as bad if not worse).  This in itself can cause grief because if you kill or attack someone and then talk to a vampire IN that faction (like you'd know), they'll hate you for it and attack, this isn't something I can deal with because the game engine itself has limited the ability to fully remove an actor from a faction.  Oblivion was easy, the factions were copied from the base to the actor like all other attributes, but in Skyrim they're included in the faction scan for the actor being checked, sadly.

    Is this supposed to make creatures besides vampires friendly? Spiders don't attack me even when I attack them.

      I believe the mod adds us to the "Undead" and/or "Vampire" faction(s). I think. Any NPC/creature with these keywords should not attack you; spiders, wolves, skeletons/Dragur, and even mod added creatures like from Skyrim Immersive Creatures.

      But a quick peek in zEdit or SSEEdit would answer your question.

      Ooof nevermind, it looks very complicated on the inside.

    So far I really love this my only question now is. I can't go into cities to sell stuff now since they attack me because I'm a vampire (i like this btw), but there are vampire abilities that make it so you can hide your vampireness. Do those still work so I can go into town and sell my stuff etc? Right now I basically can't go to any npc in any town because guards will immediately attack me. (Again I like this, but makes doing any quests in towns not doable basically). Also I don't have any other vampires with me so I'm not in a vampire group.

    On second thought maybe it just isn't working properly. I went into movarth's lair and the thralls didn't attack me but the vampires inside movarth's lair by the dinner table still attacked me. But the town of morthal people also attack me. Maybe something isn't installed right lol

      okay so started a fresh save and now it works, but when I make a vampire group and then tell them to "keep this area ours" every vampire in the area starts attacking me.

      It seems to be hit or miss. I kind of started a coven of my own in movarth's lair. I have Movarth, Lalette, Alva and 2 fledglings there. 
      Sometimes when I tell them to follow me to go hunt they join me fine. And sometimes when I tell one to follow me the ones that are not following me aggro and attack me and the vampire that follows me.

      What mod are you accompanying with your vampire playing, as this mod only offers the followers and behavior of such.  You need to tell your following vampires to wait and not go into town with you, when you do that you can, but don't wait them like right around a building where guards can see them, because they will attack and thus you'll be involved.  For most towns, I hide them out of visual range to any NPCs for the town, or "eat" my way past the guards, then I leave them at the front gates.

      As for the other vampires attacking you in Movarth's Lair, those are hard coded to do that, I can't fix that without breaking a ton of other things in the process.  There are some vampire groups that are hateful to other vampires, so I'd just chalk that up to that.

    How do you remove the sound effects?
    Is it possible to make it optional, just cause its way too loud and impeding on the natural audio immersion. 

    Edit: Update, Turn the option to Silent, gotcha.
