Ok, since this could potentially get out of range, validating data. There should be a testing consensus.
1. make sure your .ini settings regarding anything Papyrus are default 2. enter the vanilla game(also no loose files regarding textures etc.) from main menu using console, using the following command:
coc Riverwood04
3. do 1 minute of testing, note the average ms 4. command console: tgm 5. do 1 minute combat testing hack through anything you can find, note the average ms 6. state your results over here, if possible with system specs.
Thank you so much for porting this mod, and huge shoutout to Mitchalek for the tool itself; it's great to try and figure out what's wrong with your game.
(Note: I wrote these first two paragraphs of my comment last since I realized I forgot to include a thank you, and boy howdy does this thing seem useful! Feel free to ignore the rest of my comment, figured I would outline my struggles for history's/entertainment's sake if nothing else. Spoiler: It's an FPS issue. Tried to mess around with SSE Display Tweaks but no luck there - in my one test run with 90 FPS I did get a record low of 55ms latency though!)

What would you suggest is a good number of script latency?
I don't know. Positive numbers range from 60-80 according to Google, while most people agree everything above 120-140 should be considered problematic
....I think I might be screwed :D
Running Skyrim AE 1.6.1170, all DLC, Anniversary Upgrade, just this mod: ~123 consistently.
Looked up some of the errors in my log, it showed stuff like "Cannot open store for class "DLC1testPhilVortexSCRIPT", missing file?" so I decide to verify files through steam, which detects 2 files as not validating and re-downloads, cool. The error still persists so I look it up again (couldn't find anything searching for the entire line, but looking up JUST DLC1testPhilVortexSCRIPT yielded information: apparently this is caused by not having the unofficial patch installed).
So my load order now looks as follows: 0. Skyrim.esm
...and the lowest number I got when idling in Riverwood? I skimmed some comments and one around page 4 or so seemed to conclude that lower FPS = better script performance, which - if that is indeed the case - would mean that I am extra screwed because my framerate is capped at 24 using Nvidia Profile Inspector. Anyhow, I figured I'd test that avenue just in case and went on to cap my FPS for Skyrim specifically to 60, which.... "Estimated Script Latency: 96ms (Hi: 100ms, Lo: 96ms)" - though the "Hi" value dipped down to around 98 or so a fair bit too.
This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know if there's any way or mod or something to de-couple script latency from my framerate? I'm quite used to and happy with 24 FPS (actually got a tiny bit dizzy when I first moved the camera around at 60 FPS, lol) but would obviously prefer to not have my default/lowest latency be in the problematic range. I know Subnautica had a mod that specifically made the loading screen not depend on FPS, though I would guess that's a different beast entirely.
I have 120ms with 236 active and 953 light. Game run very well but some time a have screen FREEZE and sound of the game still on. MSIAfterburn still run and nothg seen strange. I have no crush report for this. Just freeze. The only thing I can do is log out the PC user and log back in. The only problem could be the VRAM. I have 8 gigs in my GTX1080 and the game is almost slightly below ... 7500/7900. Could an unusual spike cause the video drivers to crash or something? how can I avoid it ? (I have END + reshade)
I am facing exactly the same issue. 120 ms of script latency in a quite heavily modded playthrough (1765 total plugins) and my game started freezing too often. Also when the first problems occurred i installed msiafterburners and apparently underclocking gpu through it reduced freezes frequency but not enough to make the game decently playable.
What i would really like to know is if freezes only depend on papyrus overloading (and script latency) or if they are also related to how much vram you use. I still couldn't find a definitive answer to this question
Freezing is most often unrelated to script lag but rather occurs to memory issues that don't immediately ctd. For instance one very well documented occurance of freezing is when you combine Wet & Cold with some surivial mods. Your game will just stop rendering video and only play sound. Won't even crash.
I get like 170+ on idle 400-500 on combat. Is that ok?I have like 250 mods active with 160 plugins, animations, spells, jiggly cbbe and stuff...but I haven't got any crashes yet on an 10 hr playthrough...so I don't know what to feel.Should I panik? Edit:Got low specs laptop i3 Intel hd 520 8gb ram and average 20 fps outside and 40-50 inside interiors.LE works better but SE got newer mods so I risked it
Note that the test is basically identical to the one provided with the mod Convenient Horses by mitchalek. This mod is provided for anyone who would like to be able to run the test but who doesn't care to install that mod.
So, if I have Convenient Horses as active plugin - I didnt need this mod? Convenient Horses did same thing with scripts or what?

Leaving it off of the info page was idiotic
Shouln't of had to search this long for this information. Basic instructions on how to use the mod.
