Thanks for all the compliments already. I wasn't really expecting that when I uploaded this, but I guess I'm not the only one that likes to start the game as a hunter.
Traveling for work at the moment, but I'll see if I can work on some of the suggestions when I get back 1. Change name so easier to find when looking for Alternate Start mods - done 2. Dog barking - known issue in Skyrim. will check compatibility with Quiet Dog mod when I get home. 3. will add names to the two hunter bodies to match the names in the quest 4. might reduce the level of the bears or leave the level the same and just remove 1 of them. 2 level 12's is a bit rough. thoughts?
If I don't choose this start, and I find the cabin later, the way the quest starts makes no sense: When I read the letter, I get teleported and items are added to my inventory.
I think reading the letter should only start the quest, nothing else, and the items could be in a chest.
Concerning the bears, the dog is of great help. And with some tactics and a lot of runing, you could defeat them.
But I had an issue with the cabin. If the dog (and maybe any follower) enter in it, they cannot go out. Maybe a navmesh issue.
The immediat environment is quite hostile too. Springans are dwelling in a ruin near the cabin, and at some distance south there is an orcish bandies/hunters camp. It's quite difficult to relax at home.
Thank you so much for this mod. A while ago I stopped playing SkyrimSE for the main quest etc and started using LAL and playing until I was killed/died at which point I'd start another game. It's been a lot of fun so the extra scenarios have made it very interesting for me. I really enjoyed how you seamlessly combined this scenario with what was already there in the game. The cabin is simple but definitely habitable. You've given just enough to give a reasonable start but without too much too soon. I really like that! And it's nice not to have to hunt for Meeko right at the start of the game! Thank you again! Endorsed! And have some kudos as well! :-)

I'm at the point where you need to read the book at the campsite to the south of the cabin, but I cannot activate either of the books whatsoever.
