Hello folks, version 1.4 is out which should fix the common problems which have been reported, check the changelog under "LOGS" for all the changes.
The Blackface Bug: This can happen when 2 mods are editing the same npc. The "Full" version of this mod will change the outfits of the court mages throughout Skyrim, if you have another mod such as the Bijin, or PAN npc beautification mods which is making changes to the court mages, you may get the blackface bug. Either give those mods priority, or download one of the other versions of this mod which does not edit the court mages in order to fix this.
Check out THIS mod by rotol in order to distribute the wizard hats using the SPID method. This should be blackface bug free way to get the hats on some of the other npcs in Skyrim.
Clarification on Circlet versions: The circlet versions of the hats are now included by default in all three versions of 1.4. These circlet versions are simply a way to wear the hats without making the players hair disappear, this prevents the character from going bald when using custom hair from mods and these circlet versions sit slightly higher up on the head in an attempt to allow many custom hairs to fit under them without clipping. These are NOT hats which can be worn in addition to a circlet.
A Word of Thanks: Thank you to everyone who reported bugs and errors with the mod.
I would also like to thank irostheTiger, AsprosFabrey, RulerOfWorlds, Kedavix, Caminha, Baron of Hell, JustlChris and rpg38 and the others for taking the time to help some of the other folks who were experiencing problems here.
And of course most importantly, thanks to everyone who took the time to leave a positive comment or a picture of the mod, it made my day to read/see those and that is probably the main reason why I decided to fix up the mod. :D
I have discovered that it appears most of the NPCs will have enchanted hats equipped, but they are all invisible. If I enchant them myself, they are just fine, but the ones that are pre-enchanted on NPCs are not visible, circlet or regular. Has anyone else experienced this?
I don't think this mod is compatible with Vanilla Hair Remake SMP. Some hairs cause the hat and hair to become invisible, leaving NPCs with a bald head. I'll run more tests. Great work by the way!
I didn't notice that file and just completely removed the mod- now I can finally enjoy this mod. Many thanks! For anyone wondering, the file is called "Wizard Hats 1.3 Circlets Version" under "Old Files".
SherlockCones I'm using the latest version of both mods and they're working fine together. The circlet version of the hat will display the hdt-smp hair correctly. Maybe something is wrong on your end ? 🤔
This is great, seriously, but could you please add an ESL and/or ESPFE option? I can't justify burning an ESP slot for a hat mod no matter how cool and Gandolf-y my toon looks wearing them. Maybe if you added an NPC named Arwen who suddenly has an lusty urge for wizard hat characters it would be different, but . . . no.
