  1. You could also include primary residence, like Breezehome, Lakeview etc

Amazing idea! If you're into Elden Ring I'd be awesome to see something like this for that game too. Cheers!

I love this one. It does exactly what I am looking for for my youtube skyrim walkthrough series: gives me a random challenge. I do have a few questions though:
If a character is not supposed to wear armor (but clothes), why is light or heavy armor still one of the skills, when there is only 5 skills?
Is it possible to make the number of skills customizable? --> the pure races have 6 skills.
What about unarmed? Using Ordinator the light armor and for Vanilla the heavy armor tree contains perks for that and it can be used as a main weapon for a brawler playstyle.

Do you mean the "optional challenge" section when it states your character can't wear any armor? Oh, that is just an optional challenge, it's up to you to do it or not according to how ballsy you feel, it's not a requirement to "win" a run.

I might release a more customizable version of the app at one point, though I still haven't gotten a feeling to start it yet.

There is a brawler playstyle in the pool btw, but it is very rare. You just have to be lucky enough to draw it. If you only have vanilla perks, the app will draw the heavy armor skilltree for your fist damage, if you have checked Ordinator, Light Armor will come up instead.

If you use it to do runs, I would be interested in checking out your playthroughs!

It's a nice tool. Could have a text export when generate, though. Thank you. I've enjoyed it.

Will you release the code for expansion? I would like to add to the mix of destruction (water, wind and earth damage), and forgot what else more haha.

The current state of my code is a nightmarish mess so I cringe at the thought of openly sharing it with others at this moment out of shame.

But I am planning on a huge code overhaul update in an unforeseeable future, and turn the whole thing a lot more modular. It will include the ability to export the character sheet as text, as well as being able to prechoose some of the popular mods to integrate them into randomization (that could include elemental destruction magic as you wish), or maybe even the user ability to add completely custom entries to the list of weapons, races and questlines -as I cannot just include every other mod out there, providing this would probably have been much better-

But I really don't know when I would sit down to do all of that for now. It will require some work for sure.

Ah! yeah, the type of weapons was probably the other part that I forgot.
Take it easy, it's fun just the way it is. I'm to lazy to make one. Thanks!

      Cheers.

First off, loving this little program!

Much like empomeitor above, I'm too lazy to make a whole thing, but I was wondering if you've modularized the questline portion or have released the code?  I'd like to add to the list of potential questlines I could get randomized.

It's a preventative measure to stop people from uploading EXEs to the nexus and having people download them, I believe. Check in on this mod a lil later and I'm sure it'll have been greenlit if it's safe.

Oh lawdie... I'm having a blast with this.

One of my favorite things to do as a writer are mashing unlikely characters into a problem and letting them flub through finding a solution... It's good for generating the smaller character traits you wouldn't think of right off the bat. I did a quick and dirty one with my first two rolls:

Redguard Illusionist, Archery Illusion Light Armor Sneak Lockpicking. Thieves Guild, Civil War Stormcloak, Kill Haran in Winterhold without getting a bounty. No followers.
Assassiny bounty hunter. Sounds like he could venerate Gulibeg the Quick Fox, an aspect of Hircine? Would def use Campfire + Hunterborn + Scrimshaw with him. Make him all sharp, wild eyed and woodsy. If I want to go lycanthrope with him there's were- textures for vultures and boar and stuff. Maybe a fox one. Could just go full trickster fox, and be an Illusiony werefox / hidden daedra walking the earth, doing what tricksters do. Lilmothiit race mod is an option for when he breaks his Redguard disguise?

Second roll was an Orc that used Daggers and Destruction, Alchemy and Sneak... with Heavy Armor. Kills the Ebony Warrior.
Odd mix made me laugh imagining it.
My rule for writing is if it actually makes me laugh thinking of it, I have to get creative and write it in somehow.

This guy would interrupt one of Wild Eye's missions with his own fumbles. Wily Old Man the Banished Backstabby Orc is on some zealot quest to remove The Ebony Warrior for some D/Aedric machinated reason, being easily swayed, and thinks poisons are a convenient invention...
He desperately wants whatever boon is promised, but Wild Eye gets in his way out of revenge. Hircine sees the opportunity to strike a blow at Ebonarm, (them having an age old beef,) so Wild Eye gets the same deal.
Hidden in the bushes, they find out they're BOTH tasked with killing Ebony Warrior, but instead of squabbling in battle and risk their quarry getting away, they deal with the arguement LIKE MEN... and bicker and get drunk over it.
They get so preoccupied with winning a running bet with the other and being hungover, that they never do anything more productive than stalk the poor guy.

Bonus: Ebony Bro has no idea these fools are on his tail, and he goes about his day, shopping for tomatoes or something.
(The two seen brawling on a far rooftop)

If I had the time and skills to make this an episode, I would. lol

    Post your characters everyone! :D

Where were you a week ago when I was scouring resources for several dif roleplay chars to stream..?
    Thank you!

    Problemo, though.
    Ran from .zip, said:
"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140D.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
Ran from .exe on Desktop and it said the same thing.
Googled and Le Internet says it's a Microsoft thing that's downloadable on their site. Downloaded "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015."
Installed but it failed, saying one or more version of this is already installed. I don't work with code, so it seems to be pre-installed on Windows.
    Mkay.
    So. This is a problem.
IMO, the requirement is gonna be a wall for a lot of downloaders.
Anyone have any ideas for me to try? I'd like to get this working.

Anyway. Great concept! Good work! Thank you for providing this for the community. This is just what we needed. :)

A request though, if you're ever fiddling with it, could you perhaps add the Khajiit furstock as an extra roll after the RNG rolls on Khajiit as chosen race?

We have depictions and/or descriptions of what they'd all be shaped like, if not having a visual reference already for many of them. Senche-raht is about to be a mount in ESO when the Elsweyr expansion drops in June. (Not to be confused with the non-Khaj, wildcat-senche mounts. Loremasters fluctuated on them but eventually settled on non-Khaj.) Senche-raht has a depiction released, finally. Alfiqs as well!

The Khajiiti Shapes would be a seriously cool roleplay option for a generator to take into account.

I say this with bias since I have a character that looks like a big lioness.
Ayathra was "born between moons" tl;dr Senche/bigcat shape but shoulders and legs are a bit different + Pahmar-raht/gorilla-esque, between quad and bipedal. As a result, she doesn't get the best of both worlds.
For example, I roleplay the werewolf-shaped lion Pahmar-raht part, with the populace understandably not reacting well to this frightening "sabercat monster," being unfamiliar with all the Khajiiti shapes that canonically rarely leave Elsweyr for this exact reason, but she'd be under a mostly Senche category for the drawbacks of her shape. She can't hold weapons with a firm grip, not being a full Pahmar-raht, so bows and blades and staves etc are too awkward to use, and if she's forced to hold one, she has to hold her ground. She isn't proficient and since her forelegs are occupied, she can't move in combat.
For muh immersions I never go third person (Skyrim Khaj are Cathay!), and can't ride a horse...
Animals are all afraid of her. (mod tweak)
Until one fateful day where she met the one friendly horse who wasn't, and had a girly freakout at being able to pet one, and on the spot splurge-bought A HORSE... To the dismay/amusement of her traveling group. (The AI bugged out. It legit walked up to her from across the paddock. Worked out in the end. lol)
Luckily it's a draft horse, and a follower is an adept smith + wants to settle down with his profession to raise his kiddo + finds the abandoned property of a cartwright... (Khajiit Heartfires) Smithguy is able to pool his share of the group loot to finance rebuilding the house...and part of the group sidetracks in getting the tools back as a going away present. Que feels... Use of a horse cart is the exception she earns later. When Smithbro's got things running, he helps them build a horse cart. A big upgrade from their trusty packhorse. (Convenient Horses' horse inventory and horse following features)
Paying/sharing a pool of cash with followers can be a nice rule. People forget to think of followers as additional roleplay characters too.
Back to Lioness character. She has a wasting disease (drawback) from her old school orthodox tribe having been too insular, so she keeps every disease she acquires. So she's a bigass lion, that is too scrawny (for her moons given shape) and frail to have focused on Unarmed combat. As such she's a proficient magic wielder, as part of her complicated teenagerhood running away to Cyrodiil. She does maul things in frustration when she has to though. A racial ability overhaul mod gives her great Unarmed damage, but I didn't want to be reliant on it.
She makes a Deal With A Daedra in order to change her shape to Pahmar-raht or Senche, not the cumbersome in-between shape she has, disguising this endeavor as part of her being a priest on a quest, in accordance with her orthodox sect's belief that a future clan-mother must gain the respect or favor of the hallowed Pantheon in order to ascend. Which is technically truthful. lol She had been groomed to succeed her grandmother as both tribe shaman and clan-mother.
She has reasons for the Adventures in Skyrim that leads her to those kinds of quests, further explained by the Endless Daedric Shenanigans that occur, related to the history of her sect. Many of the various deities want to have control of this particular creature for their machinations, because Reasons. She's a cat, true to form, and weaves her way through all of it, not giving them full say in the situation. Hircine, whom she has Ongoing Plot(tm) with, eventually gains HER favor and she takes a deal from him...

Which would make a good plot option for the generator. "Character is haunted by ___, or has dealings with ___, restrictions and accommodations apply."
Patron Gods of Skyrim, Andromeda, and a racial ability adjustment mod like Imperious are all nice roleplay suggestions for your recommended list. A deity/worship mod can add a lot to a character's story.

I hope this character example gives others more ideas. You seem to be enjoying this project. Have fun

Same issue here -- apparently I already have a C++ distro, but I can't find that .dll file to share a folder.

Is there any way to package those DLLs with your exe file? That'll help out everyone!

--EDIT-- Version 1.1 fixed my issues, works like a dream now. Thanks!

Uploaded a new version, that one shouldn't need any dll's and should work fine now hopefuly. Let me know how it goes.

About your khajiit shape suggestions, they sound interesting but that might shy other players away who aren't asking for a thing like that, as I try to keep it as close to vanilla as possible for maximum compability with other mods. There is Preset randomization though, for what it's worth.

I've also seen plot generator for a few of the randomizers I've found on the internet, but I didn't want to limit the player plot and roleplay-wise like that. A player could really like the loadout they got, but they might not necessarily like the plot points handed to them over a randomizer, and also I think I could store only so many stories in it, which is why I think players working their imagination to come up with their own character stories in accord with the randomized stats is a better route to take for this.

For example, in one of my rolls, I've got a Berserker style High Elf who dual wields swords and wears heavy armor and has civil war quest on stormcloaks side. Normally shouldn't make sense, right? But I immediately came up with a story thanks to my own imagination, this High Elf character was actually abandoned by his original parents at the Empire vs. Aldmeri Dominion war years, and he was adopted by a Nord family and taken to Skyrim. There he had learned concepts like love, family and friendship, but then Aldmeri regulators came and torched their home for worshipping talos. Protag runs away while swearing for vengeance. His Nordic upbringing also explains why he was proficient as a warrior. Bam, it's the perfect story. Which is why I think I'll leave coming up with plots to the limitless power of the imagination of players.
And it's easy to quickly establish a roleplay character using the stats, quests and even challenges too. Like, one of the challenges dictate that you shouldn't use any shrine blessings. That could instantenously mean that your character was cursed by the nine divines so he cannot get benefits from worshipping them. Or maybe he is an atheist so he doesn't really need altars. There is a challenge that involves killing a named NPC amongst a very wide list of NPCs. You can quickly establish a long lasting blood feud or past of rivalry between them.

Btw if you stream a random playthrough using this, I wouldn't mind watching you play as well :P

...Awh yiss. Someone found a solution. Thank you for the quick update!

@ Ah, that's fair. Wasn't sure how far you wanted to go, so threw some ideas to see what you thought.

Honestly, as for the streaming, dunno when that'll be. Life is unwilling to allow me to adhere to some manner of sensible schedule lately.
I'm doing it to practice on the fly character writing and dialogue scripting. Spent about 15 years writing on paper/Word, so I was surprised to find that stuff like tabletop DnD and vocal roleplay were a whole other animal I was unprepared for, so I'm trying to get better at it. I would appreciate any input. lol
I'll bother ya when I get it going though.

The reason everyone is missing DLLs is because you built your .exe for debug (DLL filenames end in d) instead of release. So you'll need to have Visual Studio installed to get the debug DLLs to make this work.

A quick google search of "visual studio debug vs release" gives this Microsoft page:

      Hope that helps.
