This one has a little flaw. All new items are somehow invisble flagged as stolen. You don't get them back if you are arrested and other mods recognize them as stolen. Otherwise it is working very well.
If the items are flagged as stolen it's because you're using an enchanting station that belongs to someone else (technically it's the location that belongs to someone else). Try using one that you own or that you find in a dungeon instead.
Hi! First of all, thank you for this great en useful mod, I love it. Maybe this is not the right place to ask my question, but is somehow related. I own and live in Tundra Homestead, I've edited the Ownership of both cells (hose and cellar) to player, because NPCs were using torches inside, and this happens when a cell has no ownership. Recently I was arrested and like RogueMage, my items with transferred enchantments were removed because they were stolen. Then I also edited the enchanting station's ownership to Player but all items I transfer enchantments are still tagged as stolen. Do I need to reload interiors for the ownership takes effect? Am I missing something? Thanks again.
It's only the ownership of the cell where the enchanting station is located that matters. I can't really say why this is happening for you. The game rarely explicitly makes things owned by the player. I've never tested it but it's possible that the game is treating anything owned by anyone (including the player) as stolen when you are arrested.
I'm sorry, I'm totally dumb, can't figure out how it works. Got Wabbajack, no book, version 2.0. Equip and unsheathe Wabbajack, facing the Enchanter I can see "A - transfer enchantments" (I use xBox controller for PC) Pressing A opens the enchanter like it is a storage container. I place the item with typo in the name I want to fix (aka rename) and then what? No options to "Rename". The only options I see are: Take | Take all | Equip Same if I place enchanted and unenchanted item in the container... what then? Didn't see any button to press to transfer of the enchantment.
The container is just used as a way to select the items to be enchanted or renamed. Just close the container after you put one enchanted item (to be renamed) or the pair of items (to have the enchantment transferred).
If you put the wrong number of items (or incompatible items) in the container they all just get returned to you.
If there's exactly one enchanted item, you should get prompted for the new name and then it gets returned to you.
If there was one enchanted and one unenchanted item, the newly enchanted item is returned to you and the formerly enchanted item is either "destroyed" or returned to you in unenchanted form depending on whether it was a default game enchantment or a plain item you had already enchanted yourself.
There are other mods for that. That have been around for decades.....well, a decade.
Also, if you really want that lost item, everything goes to a special chest. The coc location is in the book so you can go there to get the original item if you really want to keep it.
Also, wabbajack.
I guess even in 2.0 the book is still useful, not just flavor.
Does this mod work on existing saves? reading the description is a bit confusing. it says to d/l 2.0 for new games but 1.1 for upgrading existing games. i have neither and would be downloading to use on an existing save that's never had any version of the mod installed on it.
Sure, you can add to an existing save if new install. Be sure to put it at the bottom of your LO, or at the very least below any mods that load scripts or new items.
If you are updating though, I'd wait until a new playthrough, it may not be necessary, but it is a best practice with mods that use scripts.
What an awesome and underrated mod, it really should get more attention. I'm not really into alchemy or enchanting so a mod like this helps so much, it's so user friendly and flexible. Thanks for such a useful mod!
Is it not possible to swap 2 already enchanted items? Is that a limit wabbajack can bypass? Cause I want to use my favorite equipments and keep swapping its enchantment for newer ones I find
Not directly, you need an extra unenchanted item to make a swap. Items that are pre-enchanted by the game get "destroyed" when you transfer their enchantment to some new item. But any item you enchanted (regularly or with a transfer) will simply revert to the original unenchanted form if you transfer the enchantment to some new item.
So, if you you have some super special looking armor and transfer (or enchant normally) a resist frost enchantment on it, you can later transfer that resist frost onto some piece of armor you loot from a bandit. You'll get the original special armor back and now you can transfer some other enchantment onto it. And as a bonus you can sell that bandit's armor which is worth a lot more since it now includes a resist frost enchantment.

Edit: Never mind, saw a post further down telling where it is, I must be blind.
Edit 2: It's not there. That said, I have mod that changes Mistveil keep so that may be the problem. I'll just console it in.
