I'm saying this to save people time, but the mod as a lot of issues. If you're in the heat of battle and press the hotkey to change items too many times to quickly to try to get to the item you want, the mod just breaks completely. It can't be fixed, once it happens that file is permanently broken, and you can never use that slot again. Even if you try reloading earlier saves on that file or re-installing the mod, it will remain broken until you start a new game. This is a pretty big issue that actually permanently breaks it.
Edit: It also permanently breaks once you have 6 or 7 spells and a couple swords in your inventory because they stop showing up in the quick souls menu. You can refresh the inventory list as many times as you want but once you have about 10 items in your inventory the mod is no longer usable aside from the spells or items you already have set to it. So, any items or spells you acquire later cannot be assigned to the quick souls menu. I don't know if this happened because of the port or if the original mod creator couldn't fix these issues and just decided to abandon it as is, but the mod has too many major issues to use. I haven't found a working alternative yet though.
Edit Edit: It may have just been a coincidence but when I had the left-hand slot break recently from pressing it too quickly, I was able to fix it by removing the spell assigned to each slot, saving, reloading, and it was working again. I don't know if this is a consistent fix though. I also found after some more experimenting with the slot referesher in the mcm, that if you add the spells you want to assign to your souls quick slots to your favorites, then in the mcm general settings tick show favorite items only and refresh your inventory slots, the spells and items should be there but again this isn't always a guaranteed fix. Multiple saves and reloads may be necessary.
So I know that the mod says it won't be updated further or anything, but if anyone with modding knowledge and time on their hands knows how to 1. Make the keys recycle when held 2. Make a hot key that turns assignment mode on and off without going to the mcm I will work out a deal and pay a tad bit of money for those features!
Creepy. I downloaded this exactly one hour before your post. Wanted to respond today and ... God damn. You work fast. REAL fast. Tell me, is the feature to recycle keys when held togglable via MCM or something? (Also PM'd you because I'm lagging like hell and firefox keeps frigging crashing every five god damn minutes)
Can i do this just for shout and items? also display only the upper half in the interface? i would like to reduce it as it works perfectly for shouts, and the left hand right hand display is not necessary for me.
I want this really bad as well. Would be a lot better to long press to get back to slot one instead of fumbling and trying to figure out how many presses the thing you want is away from what is equipped.
I tried to modify this myself today, but no luck on getting it to work so far.
I am trying to equip shouts and items in the slots but there the Mod is not registering any of the shouts that I have even after I refreshed everything. Left and Right hand items seem to work fine, any tips?
