Just in case someone doesn't know. To prevent enemies from killing the player while loading the game, you can click the console button. If you click it, as soon as the loading image disappears, the game will be paused. This method always works and does not load scripts.
I tried the "Pause after load screen" alternative file so that when I load into a new room I don't get killed while the game is loading in. Works perfectly on SE 1.5.97 in 2023. Endorsed!
Hello underthesky. Would you consider porting some of your other mods please? I would but I don't understand C++ or Visual Studio enough to try even with instructions. I really like your other mods and installed 5 of them in LE. They are sorely missed in SE, especially the To Your Face mod which was a good one.
Anyways thank you for porting this and the the No Activate Sitting mod, I endorsed both.
This is a life saver; I often forget that a quicksave has a moment after loading in which you can't do anything, so unintentionally I get into a softlock where the reload after death kills me, despite the time between me quicksaving and the moment of death being ample time to do something like become ethereal. With this is broke that, now the moment is paused, and it allows me to quickly switch to the right thing in the moment before death.
Great mod, so useful. Endorsed. Only additional feature I wish the alternate file had was a pause after game save. At level 40, my saves are taking a while now, and I wish I didn't have to stare at the screen to be ready for trouble right after the save finishes its business. [Edit] Found a method to pause after saves: First call up the character menu <TAB>, then hit "J". When save finishes, you are returned back to the character menu.
Could this mod be adjusted to activate on EVERY load screen? I recently asked if a mod like that were possible over in the Skyrim Modding Subreddit. I'm having a problem with the YASH mod. Enemies can follow you through loading doors, but any that WANTED to follow you tended to show up exactly at the same time you load in, regardless of how far behind you they were. Having this feature on all loading doors would help keep the chase more "realistic" since I usually end up dead before I can see what's happening.
I've added a file to the misc section that should fit your needs. It requires SKSE since vanilla Skyrim doesn't have any events to notify scripts when the player has passed a load screen and existing workarounds are rather awkward. If you find it too annoying to have the message show up every time you go through a load door, you can change the settings so it only shows up if you are in combat. I've added the details to the description.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have mod where one quest i need to go from building to building killing enemies but enemies kill me every time with kill-move while I watch black-screen after entering house. Hope this mod will help.
