Legendary skills looping is a supper buggy design in-game because the value of the player's level will eventually go overflowed. This had long been proven by many players, which you can find by simply google searching. I'm wondering if there still have no truly great mod that limits or fixes the poor design so far? Anyway, no matter how well the extension mod is done, if it can't solve the final overflow problem, everything is in vain.
First off, I THINK I've narrowed my issue to this mod, but it could also be the skill uncapper. I just got a skill, smithing, to 100 and it wouldn't go higher. It showed the legendary prompt on the screen and during my testing the symbol that shows how many times you have legendaried a skill did appear. It didn't uncap after I made it legendary. I don't know if it's both mods, or my character, or what. I'm gonna keep testing but would really like some input or direction on what to do here. I'm pretty good figuring out incompatabilities using mods for years but I'm definitely not a modder
thank you a lot for this mod! i have a question though. if you hid the prompt to legendary by design, how are we supposed to legendary a skill? please help!
i'm sorry i don't get it. if there is no on-screen prompt, how can i legendary the skill? is it a specific keybind? Edit: i looked around in the ini file and it is the space key. thanks a lot for making a readable config! but it'd be great if the mod description mentioned that.
Hey Nolbear, it is mostly a preference - less grinding if you feel it is time for a "career change". It is harder to get through the last levels with this uncapper, so I figured it would be best to put it in the user's hands.
I very much like your interpretation of an skill uncapper. Only thing is Destruction magic is extremely hard to level (without exploits), I had to train to level 50 to get the cloak spells and after hours of gameplay as a pure mage fighting mammoths giants and what not, I'm only at 53. Not that I'm complaining, I actually like the gold sink created and everything else is awesome.
I use the experience mod so skill levels do not affect character levels will this conflict with that you think? Also why do you specify using manual download in installation will vortex not work with this?
Won't conflict, the skills will still level the same way as this Uncapper does. The only difference is that the skills won't have any effect on the main level. Unless you want to change that in the Experience.ini, which is possible, but that would defeat the purpose of Experience and make you OP very quickly
However, you could also take a look at. Which does let skills affect main character levels, but only 10% instead of 100%. So you could have both worlds. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33161?tab=description

You can still legendary, the on-screen prompt just won't be visible.
