Thanks for this! Makes Stenvar - my ultimate husband on almost every play thru - worthwhile. I think he's the only npc follower with character and anything interesting to say along the journey. most other followers might as well just be conjures. Other mods usually turn him into an old man or a funky out of touch pretty boy with a head of f*cd up anime hair. totally endorsed. I could wish for a more hi-res face - but that's ok he's just great being a manly male character without a lot of make up and super saiyan hair.
Stenvar still caps at level 40 for me, whereas the description claims that he can reach level 81. I am able to check this via AFT. Do you think it's maybe AFT that's preventing him from leveling up past 40?
It looks like that mod makes a large number of changes to follower mechanics, so I think that's a safe assumption! The changes there may be overwriting the one little level tweak here.
I apologize, I've tested and haven't been able to replicate the issue. I'm using Vortex though, not NMM. You could try updating instead of using software that's been obsolete for over a year and blaming modders when it doesn't work.
Same for me.. I downloaded the mod manually and extracted the rar file. I then packed the loose files with the esp into a zip file and added the mod to the NMM. It works from there. :)

wish bethesda spent more time on fleshing out followers and made them like inigo

And by the date of the previous comments, I can see the author doesn't care.
