Sofia was created 8 years ago and after all this time I have no real interest in keeping her updated. As a follower she was always fully finished and most reported bugs were either user error or mod conflicts so she should work just fine. However it's important to keep her updated and working alongside all the latest mods so I give permission to release unofficial patches and have now uploaded Sofia's source code as a separate download.
I highly recommend you check out the Sofia Bug and Patch Hub by mattski123 here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/70950 You should also post any bugs you are having over there and he may be able to create a patch for it.
I didn't really care for this one. I found the dialogue and innuendos too juvenile. If you're going for a serious, or even semi-serious playthrough, I would avoid this mod.
Most of her comments are sex jokes, and it gets old pretty quickly. She made a joke about Jurgen Windcaller being horny when you get sent to find the horn, and that was what had me dismiss her. It hurts the writing that the original authors put the work into to give these scenes and events weight and a sense of epicness and deflates them. Lots of the jokes are like that too, just simple wordplay. I wouldn't say she's really witty.
The voice acting is to a good standard, no complaints there. If the jokes are to your taste, you will be hearing them in great quality. How her dialogue shifts to slurred when you gift her alcohol was pretty funny too, but it's just a one time thing you can find fun.
Fans of this one seem to be quite hostile when people dislike this mod. There's no need to be mad. Clearly lots of people like this one, and that's fine, it just wasn't for me and perhaps someone else checking the comments for whether this will be a good fit for their list will find this helpful.
There's no need to act like that. She's not your girlfriend. I downloaded this mod as part of a mod list, and it's very popular so I thought I'd give it a try, but I didn't end up liking it. What's the issue?
The "problem" is that you're complaining about humor in a humor follower mod. Telling people that "she's not your girlfriend" is a pretty juvenile take when people call out your poor decision making.
As I mentioned, I didn't find her witty and her jokes get old, so I didn't find her funny. I don't think it being a funny mod means its quality is somehow above discussion. I'm not complaining or asking for changes, and I recognise that many people like this mod, but for some reason people in this post section seem to get very defensive when anyone disagrees with their assessment of the mod. I installed her as part of a mod list, kept every listed mod so that the conflict resolution patches would work properly, and gave her a try because she is clearly well liked, so perhaps there would be something there for me too, but in this case there wasn't. I dismissed her afterwards. Where's the poor decision making there?
Brother you download modlists without even seeing if you like what you install and just blindly click download, thats some poor decision making right there
my first ever comment post so i can agree with you this follower is walking talking L. The jokes were cringe and not very funny but the voice actress herself is decent. there is LOTS of dialogue for everywhere you go but it's all just innuendos or attempts at sofia getting you in her end-o. Combat wasn't impressive, she follows WAAAAY too close especially when I'm trying to craft or move back and forth in home she was always in my way, and she talks over every other follower and npc in the game LOUDLY. just my experience & opinion.
@dogidogi32 The description sounds good so that isn't going to help in making a decision. You consider playtesting and then finding out you don't like it poor decision making too, so that's another option gone. You also think I shouldn't have left my bad review so that's another way blocked off to someone who might not like this. They can't even check the posts and find more information if you got your way.
With that in mind, how do you see this good decision making working without comments like mine? Some people aren't going to like this mod, and you're saying I shouldn't have given them some information so they might know that ahead of time.
There's really no need for you to be against me here. I don't know why you feel you need to defend the mod and presumably the character Sofia from my thoughts. We have different tastes in jokes is the bottom line.
@dogidogi32 no need to even get involved unless you are offering something constructive...
telling the guy its poor decision to not look at every single mod in a wabbajack list... most of them are over 150GB... dont act like you do what youre suggesting to others. your feedback is terrible.
the comment section is here exactly for what 'a754' is using it for. telling him/her that they are wrong for not liking something isnt what the comment section is for. imagine being in line at burger king and someone says no mustard then you get on their ass because you prefer it.
everyone here is aware this mod is probably older then you are right? i wouldn't look for designer changes here. ya may want to ask nicely and and see if they will allow you to update this to 2025 parameters copy rights permitting
Need help here, Something strange is happening with Sofia (and maybe other followers?) she "engages in combat" but dont draw the weapon and therefore dont make attacks and defense actions.
Does anyone know if this is compatible with Nether's Follower Framework (NFF)? The only issue I have with Sofia is that she follows me like a lost puppy, while other companions will sit, lean, and interact with benches nearby. Although Sofia can do this as well, she only initiates those actions after being idle for some time.
I'm asking because NFF adds a slot into the framework, allowing Sofia to function as a companion under NFF. I'm concerned whether it overwrites any scripts, as I want to avoid any potential issues down the line that could corrupt the game due to script incompatibility if I decide to import her under NFF.
Perhaps someone can clarify? I have the same doubt as well.
I have tried playing with her on the team using NFF (vanilla follow, no regard system, vanilla combat, etc.), but I no longer see those "I have something to say" voice during my travel with her unlike prior to importing to NFF.
FYI, she sometimes have something to say during travel and if we initiated a dialogue with her, there's a new option to her what she has to say, well, asking funny questions most likely. I no longer see this after NFF.
Edit: Don't import her into NFF. Info base on this mod.
She is not compatible, as far as I know, complex followers like Sofia, vilja, ashe, are not compatible, I use NFF and I remember once I imported her, the resulta was destroying her behavior ending acting like a robot.
Core Features - Up to 10 Followers (flexible, can be humanoids or animals). - No starter bow or arrows. - Support for Serana (doesn't override Dawnguard scripted features, such as sandboxing). - Support for Sofia (short time after intro dialogue has completed).
So I married Sofia and now she won't follow me anymore, the "follow me" dialog is still there and she responds and agrees, then does nothing, just keeps milling about at home. I use NFF and she no longer appears in the Follower Framework.
My favorite follower of all time, thanks for this amazing mod, and so many years of fun. A little story you may hate: I have been using Sofia with the CHIM mod (artificial intelligence), and with it I can expand even more my gameplay with her (configuring inside the mod, the best matching personality for her that I can). Some people hate IA implementation, but for me it brings Sofia to life. And my other favorite follower Vilja, watching them interacting, those two oposite personalities is like a dream for my favorite game of all time.
Sofias follower behaviour has borked for some reason. Even when she is a follower, she just walks of and starts heading home, teleports back to me then heads off home again. Any ideas ? if i hit her reset in the MCM menu for her does that mean shes back in Whiterun stables and i have to progress with her all over again because we married now.

Other than that, great companion mod.
