Is it possible to edit the bounty minimum? Using a mod that increases the bounties and I'd like to raise the cap to match it. Looked in SSEedit but there didn't look like an option. Also looked in CK and found the area where I think it's edited but I wasn't sure I wanted to tamper with anything.
An MCM would definitely be great, as mentioned in earlier comments; the true spirit of modding is customizability, after all. I would also really love a feature, even optionally, where when you went to jail you did jail time for your highest bounty Skyirm-wide, and then it cleared all your bounties. It is, perhaps, not entirely realistic, but...
I intended to add an MCM, and I’ve got a version made that incorporates it, but it also causes massive bugs in the mod as a whole. The fix requires me to rewrite most of the code, and I’ve not really had the time in the past month to work on it. But I’ll see if I can’t get something out soon.
Has anyone tried this out with Wergild Depreciation? There are no conflicts in SSEdit, but wasn't sure if there were any other potential negative implications of using them together...
Oh, this looks super interesting. Seems like it'd fit really well with mods that add hold borders if you want that extra bit of challenge trying to cross between different holds as a criminal of skyrim. I was actually just thinking about a mod like this! Will definitely be keeping track of this and take it for a spin on my next playthrough.
Might I suggest a time lag ... Rumour is fast so maybe wait 5 days to add a crime across all Skyrim, but 30 days to remove a bounty. Remember that the 1812 battle of New Orleans took place AFTER peace treaties were signed because news could only travel as fast as a Ship could cross the Atlantic. It was also Very important. A theft being cleared might even take longer, perhaps a severity level for speed determination.
I agree, I have the current spread time set short as I wasn’t how player input during extended periods of time might affect the scripts. From what I’ve seen in my own play, there hasn’t been any strange things, so I’m planning to add MCM support to allow people to set their own bounty thresholds and time to spread, and so on.
So, after you get more than 2000 bounty in any hold, after short amount of time You'll get a notification that lets you know your bounty has been spread. Looking at your stats after that notification will reflect this.
The major change I see in that mod is the increase in fines for crimes. It will cause passive bounties to be gained far easier than intended, other than that, there shouldn’t be any issues that I can see.
Hence why there's a 2k threshold before the passive bounty. I wouldn't call a "known serial killer" a "common criminal".
You can hear about Aventus Aretino's Black Sacrement, or Grelod's murder, from all across Skyrim. Why wouldn't word of the Dragonborn slaughtering innocents in plain view of other innocents spread, and people all across Skyrim want to see him brought to justice?
All the holds still consider Skyrim their homeland, regardless of whether they want the Empire in charge, or self-autonomy. There's no reason they wouldn't want to bring down serious criminals wandering their lands, no matter where the crimes were committed.
