Chaurus (even without this mod), are literally the only creatures in this game I'm actually freaked out about, to the point where i'll quit a quest or totally avoid the area (like morthal) just to not encounter them. Don't know what it is about cockroaches, centipedes, and things of that ilk that freak me out so much. I have no problem with spiders (love spiders actually), but its these specific critters that mortify me...
Just personally I feel the reapers should be huge and scary as hell eg The Lighthouse quest, but the normal Chaurus I feel should be small as per vanilla due to the underground tunnels they life in and for me is just more immersive.
Still I use most of your skeleton replacers so thank you for the mods.
Alrighty, I would like to suggest Chthonic Chaurus for this mod title as well! I feel I am finally getting some use out of my English major and Latin classes. But it's up to you, and just a suggestion!
From Wikipedia: Chthonic (/?θ?n?k/, UK also /?kθ?n-/; from Ancient Greek: χθ?νιος, romanized: khthónios [k?t?ónios], "in, under, or beneath the earth", from χθ?ν khth?n "earth")[1] literally means "subterranean", but the word in English describes deities or spirits of the underworld, especially in Ancient Greek religion. The Greek word khthon is one of several for "earth"; it typically refers to that which is under the earth,[2] rather than the living surface of the land (as Gaia or Ge does), or the land as territory (as khora χ?ρα does).
Got jumpscared by a Reaper not long ago. Normally they're quite scary already, but your mod legitimately made the experience even more frightening haha.
Before Nightmare Chaurus, I wanted to cleanse every Falmer dungeon with fire.
With Nightmare Chaurus... actually, no, I still want to.
Really, though. Love the work you're doing. I can't imagine playing without any of these mods. It's details like these that add so much in the long run.
The vanilla models move, look and feel very smooth like a snake even though due to the heavy exoskeleton they should really be more like Scorpions. This mod does several changes that fix this. 1. They are much bigger than vanilla (You can now see the venom dripping form their tendrils) 2. The front portion of the body seems to be coiled up more in a striking pose like a scorpion 3. This might just be me but their movement seems to be less slimy and more emphasised like a spiders This mod should really be essential because the Falmar zones are meant to be creepy and this cracks it up to 110%.
