the AIO installs all 5 versions of coins at once. The other version will install 3 coins, the imperial and stormcloak coins + skyrim coin as fallback for other locations.
Fun idea! Faction currency would make more sense I think. Imperial and Stormcloak, obviously, but Forsworn might use a High Rock currency, dunmer immigrants a Morrowind currency, and Alykir a Hammerfell one, etc.
Hello, i encountered a strange effect. The tracking object makes sound, it sounds like metal. You used a fork for tracking, is there a way to use something that doesn't make sound. Also NPC react to it. I like the mod so much is there a way to fix it?
This mod doesn´t touch any sound files. Are you using a sound overhaul? That might change the sound of currency. As for NPCs reacting to it... There are some mods that make coins droppable. There's a vanilla behavior for NPCs that causes them to fight over objects of a certain value if you drop the objects in front of them...
I actually encountered this too. I walk around Whiterun , Solitude , almost anywhere and I kick invisible objects around that sound like a kettle. And NPCs react saying , " Hey , watch what you're doing ! " ,etc. Took me forever to figure out which mod did it. Though I do love the look of the currency.
Edit: I will also say I'm not sure if its just not behaving with another mod i have , but backtracking from my most recent downloads this seems to be the culprit
I encountered the same problem. The invisible object used for tracking your position is underneath your character (FCC_Trackedobject). In certain locations the invisible object produces sounds like a colliding object (i.e. you smash a kettle while running into it so it flies to oblivion). This collision behaviour generates comments from local guards. I tested this extensivly in Whitrun. If I first come to Whiterun the guard by the doors always says: "What are you doing that for..." and the collision sound plays. Another place where this bug is reproduceable is the stones underneath the Whiterun Gildergreen Tree. If you sprint on them or jump onto on of them the sound plays and if a guard is patrolling next to you, he will make a comment like I stated above. Disabling the mod resolves the problem as the FCC_Trackedobject underneath the character is gone.
Thanks for the feedback guys! Been talking to Shizof and he seems to have found the issue. Just need to test the updated file and then i´ll put it up here, once it´s confirmed working :)
First off, great mod! It's a small change, but it makes a big difference in-game. I just wanted to ask if there's any update on the issues discussed below -- specifically, if you've been able to fix the mesh for the location marker so it doesn't make sounds.
hey, thanks a lot :) actually i have a version that is supposed to fix the issue. if you want i can send you that version and i´d be happy to get some feedback before putting it up here.
Are just the textures different? I guess so. But when you really had 5 different currencies with exchange rates - that would be very interesting. However I'll try your mod because the concept is awesome! So far the textures seem too bright for me to look like an actual coin.
thx for the input! yea been tinkering with shizof about the exchange thingy, let´s see where we can get ;) as soon as i find the time i´ll offer a toned down/ less bright version of the coins. i still have a lot to learn for creating textures
some reason i get a big red ! mark over the septim's and idk why. "UPDATE" my bad i accidentally downloaded mod for LE not knowing it was for SE. my bad, but love the mod would definitely like to have it over on LE.
I've been experimenting with coin mods lately. Probably out of boredom. I came across this one when I was searching your name for mods you had created (easier to figure out which ones I'm NOT running ). I know this mod is for SE, but I do have a mod I converted from LE called Skyrim Coin Replacer Redux https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48195 that I converted for SE usage and I'm wondering how these play together. It basically changes the coins you find in Dwemer/Nordic Ruins from Imperial Septims to Dwemer Dumars and Nordic Haralds. Do you think this would work with your mod if I placed yours last to overwrite anything I didn't want from SCRR?
basically it should work. worst case is to open both with xedit and check for conflict loosers. this way you could delete conflicting records if it doesn´t work.
Thank you very much for the quick reply. I've been going a bit crazy on the mods since they discovered the whole ESL flagged thing. Saved me over 70 slots in my load order, so I have been dutifully filling them. Sooner or later my video card is going to give out. Between you, and Mathy79, and Rougeshot, and ElSopa I probably have over 100 mods. Doesn't even get into Arthmoor's, Gamwich's, Kajuan's, Pandorable's, Pfuscher's, etc. My list looks like a Who's Who. Good thing they don't all take up space. Now get back to making something pretty. I need my fix.
While this has some merit, I think there'd really only be two main forms of currency within the province of Skyrim. Most of Tamriel would've been based on the Imperial currency, so it makes sense why Septims would be widely used, even in Skyrim. Each hold likely wouldn't mint its own coins because up until the Civil War, they were part of the Empire.
So the only other main currency in Skyrim would be that of the Stormcloaks, who reasonably should be restamping Septims, changing the Imperial Septim's face with potentially that of the head of Talos based on the statue of him, while the dragon would be replaced with the Stormcloak bear. However, the coin would likely not be changed, as it still bears the face of Tiber Septim (based on Imperial imagery) and the Akaviri dragon icon of Akatosh, with the inscription on the front "The Empire is law. Law is Sacred." and the inscription on the back, "Praise be Akatosh and all the Divines", which is a big part of the Stormcloaks' ideology; the coin already reflects their beliefs and in turn reflects Imperial hypocrisy.
Additional currencies would likely be those of Hammerfell, Morrowind and Black Marsh each, as they're now independent provinces, and the Dominion, who obviously are no longer part of the Empire; and maybe stronghold orcs, who are officially neither part of the Empire nor part of Skyrim's holds. Hammerfell coins could be found on redguard NPCs, namely the Alik'r warriors; Morrowind coins could be found on Dunmer, especially on Solstheim; Black Marsh coins might be found on Argonian NPCs; orc coins found on all orc NPCs, as even those outside of strongholds can still make you an accepted member among them. Naturally Dominion coin could be found on Thalmor NPCs and potentially the Khajiit caravans; the khajiit might also carry all the currencies, due to their trading with anyone and everyone.
appreciate your input! thought about updating this mod sometime, but have some other projects pending, so dunno when i get to that. but i´ll consider coming back to this, if i should start working on multiple currencies again ;) cheers
i´ll take a look as soon as i find the time. if it works out, i´ll be adding an Aztec themed texture replacer for the coin to my other mod "Rally's Gold Coins"
Would be cool if there was a version with three active coin variants in-game:
- Whiterun, being a neutral Hold, should have its own currency. - One currency for all the Imperial Legion occupied Holds (all of western Skyrim.) - One currency for all Stormcloak controlled Holds (all of eastern Skyrim.)
I mean, it would make sense when say the Imperial Legion occupy several Holds at once, that they would bring them all under one currency.
Say Rally, perchance as a request will there be an update in the form of Aldmeri Dominion currencies? I'd love to see one featuring the eagle, khajiit, and bosmer as well as the other races of Tamriel
would love to add more currencies, but i´m not into scripting. maybe i can just add a replacer version with alternate currencies. but it could take a while as life is pretty busy atm ;)
