Demo video is available. NOTE: The demo video only shows two shouts, but in the mod 100% of Draugr shouts have been modified, all with exactly the same settings. Edit: When watching the video, set your volume to the same number you use when you play Skyrim.
Original: Demo video is exporting now. I will upload it as soon as that's done. Edit: Done exporting, uploading. Edit: Done.
Whilst I consider this mod a MUST-HAVE, is there a way to safely edit the files, so I can prevent this mod from modifying the native language spoken draugr lines ? Since my game is NOT in english, this mod turns them BACK in english... Which I would love to avoid 😅
(Best example is Olaf in the Bard College quest line : "Insolent bastard. Die!"
I think it's because the files are loose fuz files rather than being packed in a ba2 archive, but I'm honestly not sure. It's been so long since I made this, I can't even recall how I did it or what tools I used. I know very little about how the audio / fuz format system in Skyrim works, so I might be wrong on that. I've been considering trying to remake this mod in a way that covers more of the draugr shouts (I think I missed some), but I would need to re-learn how, and also try to figure out how I engineered this audio back in the day. I think some of the audio plugins I used to mix these no longer exist, but I'm sure I could figure out alternatives.
If I can figure out how to remake this and start doing so I'll update the description letting people know it's being updated.
For people wanting to recreate this sound, I vaguely remember I had used a multiband compressor to tame the low end, followed by maybe a high pass filter at some frequency, followed by a stereo expander (I believe from the Acustica Audio Big Ceil package or possible the SPL Vitalizer plugins from other manufacturers), followed by some kind of saturation.
While the stereo expander and saturation don't necessarily tame the loud, low-end boom, they serve to boost the clarity of the audio after the volume is reduced in a way that simple level matching can't achieve in a sound-heavy mix in a game.
Hey, is there any way you can make this mod for the vanilla skyrim? this is just the mod i was looking for, but i don't exactly feel like downloading the SE version and adding all of my mods to it
Sure, I can try. I forgot how I made this, but it only took me a half of an hour to learn how originally so I'm sure I can figure it out again.
Sorry about the lapse in coverage -- I'm actually terrible at Skyrim and don't explore much, so I was unaware of the daedric prince issue. Good to know though, I'll definitely look into it.
I know this is a old comment but the ones they're referencing are basically any divine, night mother etc, they're so damn loud when they're whispering or talking in your head. "A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON" yeah and a new turd touches my pants.
Hope to see someone fix this before too long... it's been like this for years.
Just started picking up modding again. I'm going to try and compile a list of all the ridiculously loud voices in the game and see if I can code some sort of batch processor to help fix them.
If I can get something working reasonably well, then maybe I could aim for remixing all the volumes in the game (or many, at least) so things are a bit better balanced.

I feel very wrong
Thanks.

EDIT: also check all those noisy cave insects from the CHAURUS family (standard, Chaurus Reaper, Chaurus Hunter Fledgling, and Chaurus Hunter)
