Hey guys, sorry for the long silence. I took a break and then moved on to modding Planetfall and at this point I don't think I will be coming back to Skyrim. I had a blast, but at this point I'm completely burned out on Skyrim. While there are a few outstanding issues, I had no instability or game breaking problems in a 250hr playthrough featuring an absurd number of mods including all of my own. This mod, as well as all of my mods are licensed under the cathedral license, meaning if you want to pick up the reins you absolutely can.
awesome mod, really fun to play with. i've been wondering if experience gain buffs affect how much xp you gain from gold, like when you have the well rested bonus for example. i can't really tell if it does, but either way, thanks for sharing this mod with everyone
Anyone know how this works with Ordinator Perks, specifically the first rank of Light / Heavy armor? The perk gives a 'small amount of xp in combat' towards those skills, so do this mod add a bonus xp to your character for wearing the armor or does this mod just get ignore that part of the perk altogether?
Can I use "set aaaGoldXPBuffered to" and "Set aaaGoldXPSkillXPBuffered to" to level up my 100th new character to a certain level before leaving the abandonded prison?
I'm having an issue where it seems it is WAY too easy to level up. I'm testing by just consoling in 10,000 septims and I'm able to advance like 10 skill levels. I'll try messing with the settings but is this just me?
I am getting a ridiculous amount of skill XP just by testing, adding 1,000 septims at a time (up to 10K) and then sleeping. Like 20-30+ skill levels worth of XP.
Edit: Ok, so I didn't realize you also gain Skill XP with gold. I tested this mod on a 100% vanilla MO2 profile and by adding 3,000 gold via console, I gained about 230 Skill XP, which is enough to boost a skill like 10 times. So, it may require significant tweaking and testing to balance Skill XP, or I'm doing something wrong. 3K gold is nothing.

Did you make sure it's caused by Gold Is XP? Does the CTD still occur if Gold Is XP is disabled? If the CTD stops occurring when Gold Is XP is disabled, what other mods need to be enabled to reproduce the CTD? Throwing a list of 300+ mods at me doesn't help me at all. That said the only vanilla assets my mod's scripts interact with are the XP bar, and the base gold form. Everything else is self contained. This mod is fully compatible with the Uncapper.
I make test (thank god for MO2) clean save (after helgen before install any mods, no skse) with only skyui+goldxp+skse, 2200k gold by console (it was nerf to about 1200xp) CTD after spleep in inn.
It doesn't look like there is a good way for me to support this issue since I don't have VR. The only SKSE functions that are called when you sleep is game.getPlayerExperience, game.setPlayerExperience, game.getPlayerExperienceForLevel, these functions are supported in the current VR release so I have no clue. I wish I had a better answer.
I FIND!!! It was statsmenu.swf that was overwriten by VR Perk Extender. But now I want ask for compatybile patch because without statsmenu.swf from VRPE skill menu is broken (you cant see hp. mp. stamina and other below skills)
Try renaming stats.sfw from the Gold Is XP installation to stats.sfw.bak .If you don't have a CTD then I'll make a compatibility patch. The change I made to the .sfw file was to remove the skill xp bars to hide a quirk with Bethesda's implementation of the incrementskill function. Gold Is XP will function perfectly fine without that file.
Hey, I tried the .bak thing, no luck for me. I still get crashes whenever I try to confirm the number of hours to sleep, and have never actually seen the level up menu for Gold is XP yet. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'd hate to restart my run, and, well. I might end up doing that tomorrow to excise this. I really do like the idea of this mod, though.
From what I can tell there are issues with skse for vr and there's nothing I can do about it because I don't have vr to test things out. The mod works perfectly well outside of vr.
Hey, thanks very much for replying so quickly! Even if it's a "negative" answer it's REALLY helpful to know so quickly what the situation is. I can just restart my LO with a little more confidence now. I'm sure it works fine outside of VR, and if I ever get back to SSE I'll give it a shot. It really sounds excellent.
I can confirm that this mod is not working with the current SKSE VR version (2.0.10). I tested the methods in question used by this mod and it turns out that game.GetPlayerExperience() returns different results on every start of Skyrim VR. The expected value when starting a new game should be '0' but the actual value is a unpredictable random number. I guess the memory address accessed by this method in order to obtain the experience value is not correct or has changed. The actual CTD happens when calling game.SetPlayerExperience(). What is, I suppose, the very same reason: The memory address where the data is written to is wrong. I filed a bug report to the SKSE team.

1) I'm using Sunhelm which only let me level up when I sleep, and what happens is that I always need to sleep twice: one for "gold is xp" to kicks in, and other after in case I got enough Xp to level up. Does anyone knows how to bypass this? I tried to find someonewhere on Sunhelm mod to disable level up by sleeping but to no avail.
2) Is there a way to find out when I can already level up? The only way I found so far by sleeping.
Both above are only minor incoviniances, but I would like to remove if possible.

I use to run Experience as an alternative to the leveling system in Skyrim but since it needed an update, I decided to try something different to level with and found your mod from a reddit post. I am having a blast so far especially as I am using mods to make gold and loot harder to come by in the game. Amazing job and so very much appreciated! Thank you :D
ik you're not updating this anymore, and you've prolly been told this before, but while this is a cool idea, i would only use it if there was an option for the gold to be spent upon leveling up
i just really need easy ways to burn off the hundreds of thousands of septims i end up gathering with 0 effort

EDIT: This crashDumps was from different crash. I check second time and CTD from your mod don't make crashDumps file.
