So unfortunate that the project is discontinued, I was planning to get one of these suits.

But well, maybe it'll inspire other developers to do similar integrations once a suit comes out for the masses.

Well, if you see something like this, let me know. I'll gladly integrate that too. This was fun! I'm going to make the skse plugin project open source after I make some more additions here to help others, that's ok, right?

Thought you were done because you already have a working suit now :P

Yeah, that's fine with me :) I'll make Immersive Winds open source as well at some point. The more integrations we get, the better!

You could try to implement the Bhaptics suit which is coming out in 2019. Software is already avaiable and the a DK3 version for developers is also ready. Hook up and start developing :-)

Already in development. I have the suit and started developing the integration mod in September. Right now most of the stuff is ready and some of the stuff need testing.

I'll update this mod too after that with the new stuff I learned.

I setup my Hardlight today with it hardwired for now. If I can prove it works well, I'll look at getting the wireless. However, I must say I'm disappointed in how subtle the vibrations are. I tried tightening all the straps on the suit so that its very snug. Getting hit in the chest by an arrow seemed like the best effect, but even that was a pretty minimal effect. Using magic is okay, but the intensity seems low. Is there anything I should check on the set up or config that could be affecting the intensity? When I finally found your config (You might give better instructions for that as you don't even mention its name), it appeared that most everything was set to 1.0 by default. Is there a control panel for the suit itself to adjust intensity?

I found a log file which oddly says 1.2.0 rather than 1.2.1. Vortex shows 1.2.1 as being installed, which is what I downloaded today. Let me know if there's something I should check, or whether the Hardlight suit vibrations are just very subtle. As it is now, I love the idea, but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble of putting on the suit, which is not that comfortable. Again, love what you're doing!

    Hardlight VR: 1.2.0
    SKSE Version: 17039601
    HardlightVRPluginScript loaded
    Hardlight.dll registered
    Register Succeeded
    Config file is loaded successfully.
    HLVR_Version compatible.
    System Creation successful.

I added config file name to the description.

I don't think there is a control panel for a global intensity. Your suit may have a little low powered motors than mine maybe, so you need to compensate for it.

There are detailed instructions on how to modify the config file in the description.

If an effect is not enough for your taste you can increase it like this:
      (1.0 is the max intensity)

Let's say this is the original:
      any|buzz|0.0|1.0
      any|buzz|0.04|1.0

if you want to double the intensity of this, you do this:
      any|buzz|0.0|1.0
      any|buzz|0.0|1.0
      any|buzz|0.04|1.0
      any|buzz|0.04|1.0

I send these exact values to the api and it plays everything twice making it double intense. If you want it 50% more intense only:
      any|buzz|0.0|1.0
      any|buzz|0.0|0.5
      any|buzz|0.04|1.0
      any|buzz|0.04|0.5

If anything is not clear, let me know.

This mod is exciting! However, Hardlight doesn't seem to be taking orders anymore.

Yeah it's a shame, they bankrupted after delivering the suits to kickstarter backers.

I'd love to get my hands on one just to use it for Skyrim. I have a Subpac M2 now that vibrates with the bass. It's nice, but the Hardlight seems so much better, especially if it has the arm motors and action specific haptics. I saw something about an API that simulated rain effects. You might look into that.

Did they finish the arm and body tracking component of the suit? If so, maybe you could patch the VR Body mod to enhance it. Maybe share the source so it might be applied to future VR suits. I can't see that this category will just go away. The Teslasuit sounds amazing, but I worry it will be very hot and incredibly expensive.

I wished they sold some, maybe you can email them and see if they have excess suits that they didn't sell yet.

There are 16 pads and 9 effects to use (Bump, Buzz, Click, Fuzz, Hum, Pulse, Tick, Double_Click, Triple_Click). But when using the suit with a portable power bank, there is not enough power for click(all 3) and tick effects which if used shuts off the power bank leaving me with just 5 effects to use. I replaced my original effects sequences to use pulse. I wish I could use click or tick because they are really good.
Rain effect is a very good idea but without click or tick it's not really possible I think.

The suit has the tracking components and experimental functions in the api, but I didn't try it. It may require additional power too, so I don't know. I'll experiment with it.

I'm planning on sharing the source after I implement configuration feature to the mod. I think all skse plugins should be open source. There would have been much more mods than we have today if that was the case.

I wonder if you can simply connect a more powerful battery to it to extend runtime? In that case, one might be able to handle more effects. The power hungry effects would be something to go into the config for those with batteries that can handle it. And thanks for the heads up on the battery life! If I get a suit, I'll look for a bigger battery.

How's the power intensity on the impacts when being hit by a sword, arrow, etc.? Is it very subtle or can it be fairly intense?

I own a Subpac M2 that rumbles a lot in the back. It's pretty strong, but is one rumble location only and loses blutooth sync a lot for some reason. The Woojer strap I sent back as it was way too weak to even be worth putting on. The bHaptics TactSuit with 87 motors is what I'm most excited about. Perhaps it or another suit like it will become the next iteration of this mod. Love what you're doing. Keep it up!

I tried two power banks: Xiaomi 10000 mAh v3 and Anker PowerCore 20000 mAh
Both had the same problem. I'm actually using an extra power bank just for the wireless device so that it has all the power for itself but it doesn't change it.
I agree, that's why I'll first implement the configuration system. I'll then release two different config files for people using wireless and wired. That way people can try click and tick too if their setup can handle it.

Impacts can be set pretty strong. Not enough to actually hurt you, but still make you afraid of attacks from a giant.

bHaptics TactSuit sounds nice. I just filled the form on their website and added this page's link. I hope they'll consider letting me buy one after seeing this.

So you're using a 10,000 mh for the wireless device and a 20,000 mh battery for the vest? And that lasts about how long playing Skyrim without the battery intensive features?

The Youtube description links to a page with three battery choices ranging from 24,000 to 40,000, although they are rather expensive.

I'm using 20000mAh for the vest and a very small one I already had(I think it's 3000mAh) for the wireless device. I don't know really how long they last, but based on my tests, they wouldn't last shorter than vive controllers.

I bought a quickcharge 3.0 powerbank, and I don't get any shut downs anymore with the click effect.

I also got an answer from bHaptics by the way. They're letting me buy the suit. I'll start integrating it too when I receive it.

Quick charge 3.0...isn't that a feature? What brand of battery did you use and capacity? Two batteries still or just one? I snagged a suit on eBay and hope to have it soon, but want to get a wireless setup that at least worked for you. Hopefully, it can stay powered for an hour or longer?

      Wow, nice.

I'm using two of these now:

      https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Upgraded-PowerCore-Backwards-Compatible-black/dp/B01N0X3NL5

I didn't test how long yet still. But I think it would be very longer than you need to worry about it. I'm updating the description with the item links.

Thanks for this mod! I was wondering if it would be possible to add weather effects like when it rains or melee effects for when you swing a sword or strike an object?

Yes. Added rain effect to the planned features list, after I make the mod configurable.

For melee feedback, what kind of effect is there on your mind? I can't really think what kind of haptic feedback there would be on your arms from swinging a sword, or striking an object. I think that stuff should be on the controller itself so that feeling should be transferred to your arms a more natural way.

I was just thinking if you were to hit an object with a melee weapon we would be able to feel a vibration in the forearm holding that weapon so that you 'feel' the impact when you hit something. Can't wait for the rain effect!

Just a few extra ideas I've come up with after spending some more time with this mod:
      - impact effect when blocking with shield or weapon (arm and shoulder)
      - impact effect when shield bashing (arm)
      - impact effect when successfully parry attack (arm and shoulder)
      - impact effect when falling from height (whole torso)
      - impact effect when death occurs due to a fall from great height (whole body continuously pulses or vibrates until reload)
      - striding/galloping effect when horse riding (whole torso)
As you can see I play predominately melee and I'm loving the extra immersion your mod adds to the game, thanks again for your consideration and for making the Hardlight suit not a complete waste of money due to the company folding and thus no longer supported. I eagerly await your updates!

Thanks for the awesome ideas. I don't play melee much, so I appreciate the input.

Some of these stuff are easy to implement, but some of them may not be possible easily. I'll try of course.

I need to ask something, what is parry exactly? How do you do it in this game?
Also, can you block with a weapon? How?

A parry is when you clash weapons with an opponent, this can be tricky to do but very satisfying when it connects; timing is everything. You will need the 'Vigor' mod installed and activate parry in the settings. I think if you manage to activate an effect when you hit something with a melee weapon then it should still work when you parry. As for blocking with a weapon, simple hold it up in front of you with the back of your hand facing towards you . The weapon should start to flash which indicates you are now blocking with it. Things to note: blocking with a shield takes a small amount of health when attacked, blocking with a weapon is less effective and takes more damage than a shield, but a successful parry takes no health at all.

I would second the idea for arm vibrations with melee, shield bash, etc.! This stuff should all be in a config though in case someone doesn't like it, or wants to turn the intensity up or down.

This sounds wicked awesome =D Major bummer it won't get much traffic due to the bankruptcy but I look forward to any future iterations with other products! I'm sure that gloves, at least, will become fairly commonplace once Oculus releases their new package.
