For those of you who chose to use the Optional files you may have seen that the Redguard preset on the Nord, Breton and Imperial Races comes with face paint on her, this is no bug, as far as I know, Skyrim has a system in place which automatically adds face paint ever a certain number of positions of presets and my Redguard preset just happens to be in one of those positions... BUT FEAR NOT! just remove the face paint yourself xD. I have no idea how to disable this system but I personally don't think it's much of an issue as some of you may make subtle changes to the hair, eyes, etc...
I originally made this "mod" for myself trying to get my characters the same visual appearance (the Breton preset) for a new save and I ended up making No Plastic for you guys, I hope you guys enjoy this or at least understand the 'Movement' I'm trying to get across with No Plastic.
Edit: Thank you to all who have downloaded this, really appreciate it, to be honest, didn't expect to pass like 50 downloads and on top of that thanks for the endorsements, I'm very happy to see that people are enjoying it.
* Can state it still works flawlessly for anyone wandering since all the updates in the past few years :)* (21 January 2022)
I like your work with this a lot but sadly I can't get the presets into the game either. Seems like an installation with Vortex doesn't actually add the presets to Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets I'm a bit stumped, no idea how to get it to work.
Hi, I'm not quite sure why it isn't showing up for you, there should be no conflicts. Do you by any chance have other mods which adds presets? It should work regardless of load order as well... have you migrated to Vortex or are you still on NNM?
oh my goodness THANK YOU. I've been looking for presets that DON'T look like inflatable balloon animals and this is one of the few solid ones out there
Thank you for a Great Mod that isn't Waifu. Have used this in the past and am using it again today. Forgot to come back and let you know how much I like these presets. Endorsed.
A worthy endeavor! It really makes my head spin a little when I see all those modern-day, high-maintenance, perfectly made-up and coiffed ladies stalking through a very incongruent kind of setting. (Although I love that people CAN play that way if they wish to. Yay, freedom of modding!)
I kind of wish these screenshots featured vanilla hairstyles, because even with the more natural textures for the KS styles they stand out a little too much for me in some cases. Like the Breton. Or the Imperial. That makes it difficult for me to really gauge the face for some reason. (I am odd and get distracted easily.)
Not that any of what I think matters, because while these look really nice, I am not actually looking to use your presets. I find putting all sliders on their zero value is a decent and neutral starting point for any character. (The one thing that truly helps the females of certain races to look like anything other than middle-aged irritation is normal map textures. Bretons and Imperials especially are almost as adorable as Redguards, if you smooth those stern frown lines.)
That said, I'll download and endorse because I really like what you are doing here. :D Mm, just imagine these faces combined with some of the less glamorous BodySlide settings! Nice job! <3
I 100% under stand where your coming from, someone needs to make a mad that overhauls the current hair to keep it more more friendly while maintaining the original style, its just difficult playing the game where all the hair looks like dirty mops. You can see on the last image what the preset looks like before adding the KS hair style. Thanks for the support regardless.
When my internet is back in place ill add more images showing the girls without the KS Hair style (for the person the doesn't mind the Vanilla look) and add each preset to be available across each human race.
And if your ever willing to give CBBE a try, what i suggest is downloading another mod which almoat randomises the bodies that CBBE uses in a tasteful way on all the females in skyrim: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15262 . You will be able to use a less generous preset from CBBE if your no fan of the curvy look, i personally dont use nudity and looks fine regardless.
Thank you for the awesome response! I actually use some KS hairstyles myself, as well as my own adjusted CBBE meshes. I really did not mean to sound purist or holier-than-thou. To be honest, my characters look... not as realistic as they possibly should (mostly I like to have the eyes a little bigger, windows to the soul and all that). But we all play the way we like best, right?
I do like several of the vanilla hairstyles quite a bit, albeit only with a texture mod. And yet I still mostly end up using some of my favorites from KS or even that nice braid from Apachii (again, all re-textured to be less like a shampoo commercial). I simply never felt the need to replace NPCs' hairstyles with modded ones. (Although Serana got one of the simple Nord-style vanilla 'dos because I really do not think her original "Bram Stoker's Dracula movie" style is doing her any favours. ^^) As everything else, it comes down to personal preference.
It's just SO nice to see something other than what makes up the majority of female characters in pictures on this site (oversexed and overgroomed, usually). Variety is fun! I especially like the look of your Nord. She's unusual (in a way that would seem to garner local interest and appreciation in a place like Skyrim) and at the same time looks like she might be a real person. I think she even reminds me of someone I knew. Great work there!
Sorry, I am rambling all over the place. Too much coffee!
With all that said, anyway, I think Vanilla hair previews could be nice simply because everyone knows exactly how they frame a face, so one can better gauge the features, the overall shape of the face and so on. I usually pick an "out of the face" hair first when I start working on a new character and only choose the hair in the final step. It can change the look completely, after all.
Rambling again... Maybe coffee was a bad idea all around. ^^; I do hope your internet gets fixed soon, because unreliable net is just awful to suffer through. Good luck!
No worries i understand where your coming from completely, ive already made it so the individual can use each preset across the board (the ones i have made as an optional file whichbill upload soon) as for the nord, a lot of modders in my opinion forget that the nords are a strong people and the faces must reflect that. There is even a mod which changes the hieghts of each race closer to the previous games (one coupd also say the lore) and this even shows how strong the nords are showing the hieght difference :https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19557 . You should check this out, i personally use my breton preset and she is almost a heads length shorter than a male nord. You can follow this up with a mod that reflects your hieght in first person for full immersion purposes (the link for this can be found on the previous links page).
These are gorgeous, but I don't use Total Character Makeover unfortunately.I do share your desire to make beautiful real women that do not look like anime characters, so I hope your mod gets plenty of endorsements!
Cool thanks, i believe the presets "may" work with out Total Character Makeover, but its not something i have tested but is should work regaurdless seeing as Total Character Makeover just seems to be a character texture overhaul.
Edit: I have tested and they work just fine (ill edit main page to reflect this), guess it would be just fine anyway seeing as they are just basic presets.
For months I'm only collecting vanilla stuff for faces from this site. So your work has a priority for me. Thanks. Update. I hardly find a beautiful Breton female (no plastic) from saves published in nexusmod and surprisingly enough Bethesda made Redguard females more beautiful than all other races in Skyrim (sound like they heard some complains from TES 4 Oblivion).
Yes i prefer the vanilla game as well, but just wanted to give the characters a modern touch, seeing as Skyrim hasn't really aged too well, as you can see in the recommended area i listed CBBE and SG textures renewal, i personally turn nudity off but use CBBE just to give the character a less jagged shape, as for SG renewal it gives still a very natural look to Skyrim well adding a lot of detail (I use the smooth preset and the NON wet preset so the skin doesn't look glossy which to be add to the plastic look) would recommend a look.
Thanks man, i wasn't sure people cared much about the issue xD. Just a reminder if you want your game to look like my images you must not forget to install recommended mods.
