I've been using this program for almost a year, without flaw for FO4 and SSE, yesterday it quit packing BSA for Skyrim and today it won't pack BA2 for FO4. I havent' changed any of the settings I had it set up for. Any advice on what I may need to look at?
Edit, I started the game from Steam and it reset the paths, it all works now.
So with this I can unpack a BSA, make changes to the files and pack it back up again in SE format without using the CK? Have never been able to get the CK to work.
This doesn't do any unpacking. But as long as the archive tool that comes with the CK works yea. You just need to make a temporary folder somewhere. Make a data folder inside it. Then extract the BSA to that data folder. Edit the script to specify the data folder path. Set any other options you want. Then run it. Or just use all the command line arguments if you're a command line kinda person.
I use this as an extractor and it works great, if you only want to extract one mesh/texture or whatever you can, you don't need to extract the whole BSA.
I use BAE to unpack BSAs, it's repacking them that I've been unable to do since I can't get the CK to work. Will definitely give this a try. It's pretty common for me to want to unpack a BSA, change 1 file, then repack it.
The mod I linked doesn't unpack/repack it, it extracts whatever you want 1 file or all files and leaves the original BSA still there, it's up to you if you wanted to keep the BSA itself.
What I don't know how to do or how it works is to repack the BSA with new/changed files, it's still the same BSA with files extracted to the data/mesh/textures folders.
