    Hi , just popped up in my mind that the files aren't 4 k or 2k, their height is 4k, but it's the width that counts in this case, and it is actually 1k and 512....
    So don't be afraid for your machine :)

    Hi i digged out this thread, as un unsintalled skyrim, was checking what was written and so on. actually to be perfect it would need billboards. Before i uninstalled the game ( was tired of crashes, playing on old version ). I managed to run dyndolod wasn't obvious as my english isn't perfect. But is true it needs a billboard, a generic one does the job, but there are still transitions that breaks the immersion. So if anyone want's to make a billboard for this mod, he is free to do it. And to get all the credit for the billboard. Just the billboard.Always wanted to team up to mod, but last time i was betrayed. So Ok for the billboard. And just them.

    ( RIP to skyrim, it was a pain in the a.. when i deleted it, i modded it so much it was nearly perfect , but was crashing too much... I prefer to play other games, or read, or design new things . It will always remains  one of the greatest games, mostly due to the modders community.)

    Just downloaded today as I'm reworking and testing my load order with AE. This mod works with AE, as I figured it would. I'm using the 512x2048 and it looks absolutely AMAZING. I have 0 FPS loss...again, I didn't expect it but sometimes people want to know. GREAT JOB on this!

      hi , yop i'm still alive, and the mod too :) Didn't have snow this winter, so no new textures that would be real and not handmade for the snowy pines. Moreover, i live now in provence ( south of france, i used to live in the north when i created the mod) Trees here are really different, Pines aren't nordic. The only positiv point ( and a sad one too ) is that there is a lot of forest fire, that enabled me to do solstheim ones.
      About Solstheim, still didn't find out why some trees aren't affected by my mod, i didn't find the root texture file for them, or maybe they are just not able to be modified. If you have any issues"after sales service " is still on lol .
      I hope you enjoy the mod as it is, but if you have any suggestion let me know :)

    jus test on my system (i7700 formulaix mb strix 1080 sli m2 960 etc etc) and on highest setting there is a very slight LOD popin texture difference compared to other mods that do offer LOD.. now that said, this (depending on set up like other LOD, other texture mods like grass and their LODs etc will alter as i tested this vanilla and with a mix i personally made of my own unreleased (mainly to blend and small things ppl 4get) lupus, L3st4t, langley, vivid, noble, CC, 32cm, luxor, FF, SRW0, Cabal (geez so many staples these days taking certain aspects from each, id be here all day) and a few misc.. basically a modded game running max settings-this mod IS LESS noticeable "to me" than vanilla, as this adds only details to pre-existing. so like anything its opinion but these are done well and seem to blend better with the game style i went with (realistic-ish) using NAT and enb reshade pased on (one made for NAT). so i endorse and recommend atleast giving a look as dyno or other same use are not altered and decide urself.. btw Thank you to ^mentioned above for ur time and effort and of course this author too.. curious to see future mods

      Hi VasMere, thanks a lot for your detailed and positive comment :) . I have a music replacer mod waiting for permissions but i'm just a modest retexturer.
      Ideas have to pop ^^. And this mod needs an update with real snowy pines, not photoshopped ones to be fully completed. I hope i"ll have some snow this winter !

    My always question about mods like this is:

    ...What about the LODs??? The vanilla game, is using specific LODs for each tree-type. If you have 90+ meshes/models, how can we have the trees without "pop-up" (LOD issue)?
    Each tree needs each LOD. So, if you have 90+ meshes... do you have 90+ LODs?

      Hi :) nope, actually even on the oldrim not all the meshes had lods. Now on SSE they are nearly useless, if you have a powerfull rig and a drawing distance set to max, no need of lods.
      To see by yourself how many lods there are , use BAE extractor, and extract the meshes bsa files from the game .
      I don't have any lods in my mod. And if needed, the textures i've made are pretty seemless in a forest so you won't see an obvious change, the original game lods do the job. Except for solstheim , but it's a mountain region so .... except if you have a low rig and you stand on the reach of the top of a mountain ...

      Hi,
      Iìm sorry but what you say isnt correct, lods (billboards) are a necessary part of the game.
      Maybe they arent important for you, because everyone has its own taste about how the game look and what want to add, but it cant be said that they are useless, they are extremely usefull.

      I don't agree, onsenbat.
      My rig is very powerful, I don't have issue with memory or CPU or GPU... but I do have LOD issues (and "popups") if I DON'T RUN the DynDOLOD and create LODs from all my flora combo.

      the thing to understand is that mod is a kind of layer. With some holes in it. holes that are filled with the vanilla lods. That 's why they aren't needed.
      Plus to avoid tree popping there is a method in the step guide. don't know if it works On Se but in worths to check . :)

      Then, if you saying the LODs are not needed... write down for us, the ini settings for avoiding popup trees issues.

      That's not support for your mod, dear fella.
      You releasing something... that most people need LODs... and you saying "you don't need them"... and I'm asking the settings for avoiding tree popup... and you saying "Google it". That's not support.

      (Personally I perfectly knows the correct ini settings for everything, I have 2 pages of a Word doc full of them. But the rest users they don't know them).

      Hi again. I don't have to provide support for tree popping or billboards. There s tree popping in the vanilla version, so bethesda's proplem. And a lot of very patient people made some ini tweaks and provided " the step guide". big up to them. Googling something and make research by yourself or others in this case makes brain works, so it's pretty a good thing and a service for them . For example, my files are in rar and they don't work via the nmm direct dowload button. I made a research, and i learnt a new thing. And now i repost them in 7zip files.
      And about the billboards they aren't useless . But in this precise case as i explained you , my mod is a kind of layer like in photoshop. Beneath you have the vanilla game folders that take the relay where i should have done billboards. But i didn't since you barely see the difference from far away. I hope i have been clear enough this time.
      If you see a missing texture in what i've done , i'll provide support asap. This is the only support i can provide.
      No hard feelings.

      So you supported your mod. Lets keep that going...

      I'd suggest further supporting it, google how to do billboards, and include them as a separate download. You may not think it matters, but I suspect that will be a minority opinion - most people will want them. It'll be the main reason most people will not be using your tree mod. Which is too bad, because it looks good.

      Edit . I checked Lod creation, it's a lot of work for nothing even useless since i didn't modify or added new meshes or created a new world space. As it's just trunks textures that are rendered in the grid where players are, players won't see the difference.

      Hmm I'm going to try building LODs using Indistinguishable Billboards and see how that turns out. If it works ok, might be worth suggesting in your description. I'll report back later on when I do and let you know how it goes.

      Seemed ok. Used dark version. Wasn't perfect but was doable.

      I really love your textures, though. The fallen logs/stumps are probably the best I've seen out of any textures...and you're talking to someone with 630 enabled mods right now. Mostly textures, of course.
