INTRO:

This readme is full of notes I took as I was working on the mod. I knew I couldn't possibly get in-game screenshots of every character I changed (220 of them at last count), so I wanted to at least provide a description.

Interesting NPC's has SO many characters, I can't claim to have met them all in the game yet. If I wasn't familiar with a character I'd look for a description on the 3DNPC website and watch youtube previews if they were available. I wanted to make sure any changes I made fit the character's personality. If I couldn't find any information, I would just try to make them look cool.

I started by listing ALL the "super followers" and the regular followers, and I made notes on each one, whether or not I changed them. When I moved on to the non-followers, I only wrote notes about characters that I DID change. If you don't see a name here, it means I probably left them as-is. Sometimes I just liked how the character looked already and saw no reason to mess with them, and other times it was somebody who always wears a head covering of some sort and changing their face or hair would be kind of a waste of time.

At a certain point it became pretty boring to say "I changed this guy's hair" when it was a minor change and/or a minor character. I condensed these entries into a simple list of names at the end. It doesn't mean they aren't cool characters or I didn't put effort into their look, but it means I didn't have a lot to say about what I changed or why, and there's no point wasting your time or mine trying to turn it into a story. Suffice it to say I made those characters look good.

I edited a lot of characters without proper names, somebody called "Nobleman" for example, and I didn't bother to document that.

I recommend ctrl+f searching these notes if you want to know what's up with any specific character.

* SUPER FOLLOWERS *

Amalee: I gave her a short haircut that's cute but practical, befitting a cheerful young adventurer.

Anum-La the Swamp Knight: No change; Argonian.

Dagri'Lon: No change. He has no face!

Morndas: This wily thief got some subtle tweaks to her face and a messy, wavy hairdo.

Qa'Dojo: No change; Khajiit.

Rumarin: I switched his default wizard outfit to a no-hood version and gave him scruffy red hair. His face got some very subtle tweaks. Kept his familiar war paint. The end result reminded me a little of the late great David Bowie, so I gave him mismatched eyes.

Valgus: A no-nonsense holy man; I chose a simple shoulder-length hairstyle and gave him a new outfit with a white robe instead of the generic brown one.

Zora Fair-Child: She got long golden hair, loosely tied back. I made her trademark burn scar blend in better by adding lots of red tints to her lower face and switching her to a "rough" complexion.

* REGULAR FOLLOWERS *

Alassea: She got classed up a little for her bard performances; tidy hair and subtle makeup.

Among-The-Hist: No change; Argonian.

Arghus: This dude was never gonna win any beauty contests but I tweaked his facial features a little.

Brakh: Tweaked his face so the sliders weren't quite so extreme. Gave him some basic orc hair.

Callen: I hesitated to put long hair on this character because it's such a huge difference from her original design, but I like what I ended up with.

Cassock: No change. Included in "Hott Vampires."

Daenlyn Oakhollow: I see him as a bit of a rock'n'roll bad boy, since he got arrested for singing a political song. I gave him long wild hair and a few days' beard, and switched him to the shirtless prisoner outfit. Too bad the pants aren't black leather...

Duraz: I actually chose another vanilla hairstyle for Duraz, but a much more interesting one. Orcs get some cool options. I tweaked her facial proportions to be slightly less ugly, but also gave her some scars and dirt on her face because she's obviously a born fighter.

Erevan: I liked this guy's face and didn't want to change much, but he looked really cool with a 5 o'clock shadow and a short haircut.

Fa'nar: No change; Khajiit.

Fontaine: Didn't do much aside from adding some skin tints. Gave him a new hairstyle, but he typically wears a hood.

Froa: I had no desire to take away her signature helmet, but I gave her a short, messy hairstyle that made sense under it.

Gorr: No change. I felt like this guy's original look was perfect for the character, and just left him alone.

Helsig: This character had an interesting face to begin with; clearly a lot of work went into her look the first time around, so I gave her a pulled-back hairstyle that wouldn't cover it up.

Hjoromir: This guy got changed more significantly than most, because he's supposed to be kind of a goofy teenager and I always felt like he looked way older. Lots of facial tweaks, plus I scaled him down a little and gave him a more boyish hairstyle and patchy teenage facial hair.

Jade: Removed her yellow hood and gave her long yellow hair. Probably looks about the same from a distance...

Jilkmar: This guy's kind of a goofball and I liked his goofball face. All I did was replace his short vanilla haircut with a short Apachii haircut.

Lajjan: No change; Khajiit.

Larkspur: Skyrim's most notorious horn dog got a new shirtless outfit, a slightly handsomer face, a neat little goatee, and I gave him a lady's hairstyle because that's how much he loves the ladies.

Lurgok: No change. He already looked sufficiently wild and wooly to me.

Meresine: She got one of my favorite hairstyles; long hair tied into messy braids, befitting a tough hunter in the wilds.

Raynes: No change. His looks fit his personality and the shaved head works with the bandages.

Skjarn: I scaled this burly barbarian bard up slightly. I changed his hair from short and neat to short and messy.

Skjel the Gray: No change; not a lot of customization options for a skeleton.

Tikrid: She's a reckless young warrior eager to prove herself. I gave her long, unruly hair to suit her berserker style.

Torveld: Gave him a simple long hairstyle, and a more weathered complexion because he looked too clean to me.

Vardath: He's the charming rogue type so I have him a relatively "pretty" hairstyle; wavy hair loosely tied back. His face got some tweaks but he still has his war paint.

Vaughn: I felt like this guy's sinister appearance didn't match his flippant attitude, so I got rid of the black blood tattoos and punk hairdo and gave him more of a rugged wilderness ranger look, with long hair and green face paint.

Vawkes: Not changed too drastically, but I made him look a little scruffier / dirtier with a rough complexion and skin tints, some subtle face edits and a little more stubble on his shaved head.

Ylgyne: Subtle improvements on his original look. He got a fuller beard and a better long hair style.

* NOTABLE CHARACTERS and/or NOTABLE CHANGES *

Alendriel: She's a little on the wild side so I gave her a hairstyle that says "I sleep in the woods."

Aldi: A more glamorous look seemed appropriate for this character, so I gave her a relatively fancy hairstyle and a cuter face.

Amicus: This guy spends all his time in bed, so this was a rare opportunity for one of the weird Apachii "bed head" hairstyles to be used appropriately.

Ange the Song-Bearer: She's the adventurous sort of bard. Gave her a bit of a tan and a non-nonsense loose bun hairstyle. Made her war paint a little more subtle. Added just plain "Ange" as a short name for the character.

Asteria: Since she's a singer, not a fighter, I swapped out the war paint for some regular makeup and gave her long luxurious hair.

Ather: I think this guy had the wrong name. He had another NPC's name for no reason I could tell. His editor ID said Ather. I named him Ather. Also gave him long hair.

Azzarian: He got an unruly hairstyle with a bandana, appropriate for a bandit, and a rougher complexion.

Beatrice: The way this character talks, I figured it was funnier the nuttier she looked, so I gave her wild frizzy hair. Also removed the hat from her outfit and made some tweaks to her face.

Carah Swift-Wind: Removed the hat from her outfit and gave her a sleek swept-back hairstyle instead.

Caylene: I tried to make her look less dirty and more sun-baked, since she spends all her days sitting outside, with a ruddy skin tone and freckles. Her hairdo is similar to the vanilla style she had, but messier.

Darcy: This guy is a poet, so I gave him a generally softer appearance to match his gentle nature.

Dirassi: She complains about being sick all the time, so I put a bit of red around her eyes and nose and made her lips paler. Switched her to a no-hat outfit and gave her a simple braided hairstyle.

Efram: New hairdo. He's the Songstress's hype man, so I made him look fancy.

Eldar Voreyn: I gave this junk dealer more of a wild n' wooly appearance, with dreadlocks.

Eldawyn: Switched her outfit to non-hooded robes, gave her a slightly dissheveled hairstyle to complement her constant drunkenness, and gave her strange eyes for reasons.

Falatild: Removed the hat from her default outfit and gave her a cool hairdo instead. Her face was pretty generic aside from the war paint (lots of default settings) so I totally remade it for a very intense new look.

Fironet: Her face is different but not extremely so. I gave her a very long hairstyle with a wreath of flowers in it, which seemed to fit the character. May or may not look good with her randomized outfit...

Fjona: Since she is an adventurer turned bard, I aimed for a look that's pretty but practical. Gave her face a little more color.

Fjord: I made this guy look as crazy as he talks. And I gave him the skull face paint, because of course he would paint his face like a skull.

Flin Horstad: Only swapped the hairdo. He seems like a guy who enjoys the finer things, so I tried to keep him classy.

Frik: An experienced sailor with strong opinions about beard maintenance; I gave him a more weathered face and very neatly-trimmed hair.

Gilsi: She's pretty convinced of her own cuteness, so I gave her a dolled-up look; a touch of makeup and a fancy hairdo with a bejeweled accesory.

Griffith: My changes to this character were pretty minor aside from his hairstyle... which you're unlikely to see since he wears a hood. It's a simple short hairstyle.

Gwyvane: This character already had a great look, except that she had one blind eye and a huge scar under her eye on the wrong side... I switched it so the eye matched the scar. Also put a little dirt on her face.

Haakon Iron-Fist: Gave him eyebrows, some color in his face, and long stringy hair to make it look like he's been locked up a while.

Hagravi Gray-Wave: This guy has been wandering for ten years so I made him a little scruffier.

Halcar: He's sort of a fancy gentleman; I gave him a well-groomed look with long hair and a little mustache.

Hiram: Since he's a virtuous knight, I gave him a very clean-cut look with a short, neat hairstyle.

Hrokkar: I chose a simple shoulder-length hairdo, and set his default mood to "puzzled" because he seems a little confused.

Inari: A rare khajiit that I changed; I felt like she looked weird with a hat so I swapped to a no-hat outfit, and I gave her a different vanilla hairstyle.

Ingarte: I gave her face a little more character, and gave her a cute casual ponytail fit for a sassy wench.

Iria: She's dark and death-obsessed and cuts herself, so I played up the goth look. Pale skin, heavy black makeup, and hair falling over her eyes.

Iris the Elder: Basic hairstyle change; a simple ponytail. I wanted her to look classy but not too fancy since she mostly relaxes at the hot springs. Too bad there's no "wearing a towel" outfit.

Isobel: I was aiming for a more youthful appearance for the blacksmith's apprentice. Her loose braid is tied with a red ribbon.

Jerulith: Subtle face tweaks. She's sort of a military type and had short hair before, so I gave her a short hairstyle.

Jolene: This sultry seductress got some subtle accents to her makeup and beautiful flowing auburn hair.

Juryk: The eccentric crabber living in a shack in the wilderness got an appropriately wild hairdo.

Kianna: Her face was already really cute so I didn't mess with it. I did give her a cute hairstyle and changed her to a no-hood outfit to show it off.

Korrilan: Since he's a tailor, I replaced his regular merchant outfit with a random "fine clothes" outfit, so he'll always look sharp. Instead of wearing a goofy hat, he's got a hairdo that includes an eye-catching red bandana.

Lleyara: She's one of the bolder characters you'll meet, so I went for a rugged, outdoorsy look with a practical braided hairstyle.

Lyrik: Messed with his face a little, added a bit of beard stubble and a long stringy hairstyle so he looks like he's been in jail for a while. I don't know why he was wearing face paint in jail, but I'll allow it because it looks cool.

Misha: This ambitious witch is a perennial favorite, and I tried to do her justice. I gave her a witchy-but-cute wavy hairdo with bangs, and made some minor adjustments to her face.

Morviah Hlaalu: A nice elegant look for a hopeless romantic.

Mugnor: She was already kind of adorable for an orc, but I gave this curious mage a softer, rounder face and a cute fluffy hairdo, and now she is extra adorable.

Norgrof Oak-Heart: This grouchy old nobleman got a slightly shaggier hair/beard combo and bushier eyebrows, but he still looks like a grouchy old nobleman.

Nythriel: I gave this gossip-loving noble kind of a "too much makeup" look and a proud high ponytail hairdo.

Offryn: An asymmetrical hairstyle fits this guy's odd demeanor.

Pelgurt: Poor guy can't find his sword OR his comb.

Peragorn: A gentle farmer who will talk your ear off about how to harvest crops; I gave him sort of a hippie hairstyle with two braids.

Reunald: Gave this bard some rock star hair.

Rongeir Ice-Eye: Simple hairdo swap. Picked one that looked like an orc might have done his hair.

Sadrin Reloro: I tried to make this guy a whole lot cuter, to aid him in his righteous quest to feel on Haelga's big boobs.

Shelur Ice-Eye: A little smaller, a little cuter... She looks young enough to be her husband's daughter. Oh, wait.

Soren: Since this guy tells a spooky story about walking around on the bottom of the sea, I felt like picking a hairstyle that looked vaguely wet. Added some skin tints too.

Sylphiron: In a word, she's creepy. I gave her very long dark hair and dirtied her face up a little.

Tellevi: I gave her kind of a frazzled look, because she's been through some stuff.

The Fair Lady: Going for kind of a fading glamor look. Added a bit more makeup to her face and gave her long wavy hair casually tied back.

Urzub: I made him taller, gave him some dreads and some chin scruff, and adjusted his face a little.

Valla: I adjusted her face a little so the sliders aren't so extreme, but gave her a badass dreadlock hairdo so she still looks tough. I thought full steel armor was kinda overkill for a tavern brawler and changed her into a more casual fur outfit. It matches her bloody handwraps better.

Veralene Ashwood: She got a fancy hairstyle with silver jewelry woven into it. I didn't change her face since she had a perfect stuck-up rich lady face already.

Vigram: What do you give to a man who has everything? A slightly different hairdo, that's what.

Ynvar: She's a creepy Forsworn so I gave her creepy skull face paint and spiky hair.

Yseld: I didn't bother with new hair since she wears a headdress, but I gave her some messy war paint.

Y'tharil: I felt like she should look witchy, so I gave her a hairstyle that looks witchy; long and wavy and loosely tied back.
