Update 1.0.1 Adds 'timed' recipes that are available only at dawn (4am - 6am) or dusk (6pm - 8pm) game time.
    - You can now release souls from gems at the soul amplification table at dawn to get back an empty soul gem (available at any level). I had originally intended for the person to get a buff while doing this, but that would require a script (which I cannot do).
    - With the required enchanting level to work with the soul (eg. 25 lesser, 50 common, 100 grand), you can choose to sacrifice the soul in the gem to sunder it into a greater amount of unfilled lesser gems (eg. 1 petty --> 5 fragments, 1 lesser --> 3 petty, 1 grand --> 2 greater).

It's from TES: Oblivion. It's a 'phenomena' that occurred every 8 days. When it occurred, it allowed you to make black soul gems by placing grand soul gems in an altar and casting soul trap on it.

The 'shade' was overly simplified in this mod to allow for a scriptless system using already available mechanics (crafting system, day of the week, etc).

    Is this compatible with GIST?

Compatible, yes. It's not inherently incompatible with anything. The added gems just can't use gist's systems since they don't have a 'filled' alternative to swap to. If you drop them they'll lose their soul like in vanilla. If gist is coded well, it should still be able to fill them, though.

Worth noting, this was also asked a couple of comments down.

I have a problem. for some reason soul gems don't stack when I fill them up manually and they cannot be used in soul amplification.

Out of curiosity, if you drop a soul gem that has a soul in it and pick it up again, does it still have a soul in it? This is for troubleshooting.

Does this work with GIST or acquisitive soul gems, or do the new soul gems always get passed over?

Should work with ASGM--I use it myself. It will, however, use the vanilla system--non-permanent souls (drop the gem), etc. This is because the script from improved soul-trapping mods won't recognize the new gems. While I'd love to incorperate them, I'm pants at scripting so it can't be from my end.

As for getting passed over--it depends on how the mod changes soul collection. If it has a list of formIDs that it allows to be filled, then without editing that list, it's possible the new gems will be 'passed over'. Otherwise, they are coded to work identically to vanilla soul gems.

I am super intrigued by this mod, but I have a question.

I love the idea of combining smaller souls into bigger ones in the balanced way you have provided, but I would love it if this mod could address the inherent issue of underfilling larger soul gems. I know you can clear them by dropping them on the ground, but that seems sorta shitty. I mean, to not only kill a wolf, tear out its soul and stuff it into a rock. But then immediately spike that rock into the ground to send his poor wasted soul into the ether because it was too wimpy seems like adding insult to injury lol. Could there possibly be a way to "transfer" these undersized souls into the appropriate sized gem instead?

I'd also love a portable version of the soul amplification table. Sorta like the Enchanting Kit in Campfire. It could have pretty high crafting cost to balance. Combining two souls seems like a ritual that ought to be performed on a mountain top anyway lol.

There are several mods that fix the under-filling issue: I currently use Acquisitive Soul Gems Multithreaded. This or the other mod that is similar to it, is also a 'soft requirement' for this mod, otherwise you'll likely only be able to merge soul gems you buy. The base Skyrim game does not change the soul gem into a full soul gem item, it 'saves' the soul that is attached to the gem--which is why dropping it works; it clears the attached saved data. ASGM actually allows you to not capture the wolf soul if it would under-fill a gem, and when you fill a gem, it gives you the filled gem item, which this mod uses to merge gems. As far as merging or transferring souls in gems? That's getting into scripting territory, of which I am pants at.

I've messed around with portability but it's not something I can easily do (I have no scripting talent and I'm quite sure you'd need scripts), and I personally like the fact you have to travel to a specific altar to do this. Campfire integration might be possible, but then I'd also need a model and then dedicate a good many hours to understanding and add everything, only to add an option I don't think this mod really needs. I think it is more balanced and realistic to have the area-specific limitation than being able to carry around a table letting you merge soul gems willy-nilly.
