    can you create a SPERG (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14180) patch? it is not a popular perks overhaul but it is simple and adds flavor to the game.

    Hey hi, issue lad here. I'm not sure exactly what kind of troubleshooting you'll offer as a porter of the mod, but I'm having a pretty big issue.

    The mod isn't working.

    Yes yes, that's a pretty vague description. The mod is ACTIVE, it's not ceasing activity or anything. I gave myself the power through a console command after installing it. The only power of its name that I could see, other than the magic effect.
    I can use the power. The power is available to me.

    But it doesn't do anything. I get the noise, I get the visual effect.
    Nothing else happens whatsoever. The enchantments remain intact, there is no message. I've tried this both on modded enchantments and even a vanilla enchantment (frost damage on an iron dagger to be specific). I've tried equipping the weapon and then using the power, putting it away.
    Nothing works. I don't know whats wrong.
    Can you offer any help? It'd be greatly appreciated.

      Are you using the power on an item you enchanted yourself? The power only works on player created enchanted items.

      Edit: Also I have to ask. Do you have SKSE installed? The script will not function without it.

      Yes to both, I put the enchantments on myself. As I said in the first post, I tried even a vanilla enchantment, putting frost on an iron dagger, and it still did not remove it on use of the power. SKSE is installed and working, else my game wouldn't be functional at all with the mods I have right now.
      I'm not really sure why it isn't working. The effect is shown, the screen flashes and a sound plays, my character glows, but the enchantment stays. No message appears like I recall it doing in oldrim before I switched over.

    Which mod? i can't find any mod that remove enchantment from pre-enchanted item.

      The quote you noted was copied and pasted from the original mod for LE. Not sure which mod sevencardz was referring to.

    For some reason I can't figure out why I can't have soul release at all. Not only it's not stated on the perk description for me, I am missing the power altogether (tried to find it in the console in-game).
    I browsed all the patches I've made, including bashed and merged ones, even checked if Dyndolod could have done something. None of them even had the Spell and Perk sections, so no idea why it doesn't even show up in my game. Using Ordinator version. I've also tried to drag the .esl all the way to the bottom of load order instead of where LOOT suggests it. Didn't help.

      I just checked the file in-game an you are right it isn't showing up at all. I ran into a similar issue with a patch I created for a different mod. This might be an issue with xEdit. Regardless creating a brand new plugin by creating new records of the old ones seems to have fixed the issue. I will update the files shortly.

    Soul Release for Ordinator works for Vokriinator as well.

      This mod only requires SKSE. Updates don't break the mod so you should be fine.

    Hey so first of all thanks for the mod. I just want to let ya know that souls actually go straight to the soul cairn the moment the person is killed so it is actually not their soul in the gem or powering the enchantment.

    Of course mods don't need to be lore friendly, it's all just preference. Just thought it might be interesting for people to know. Thanks again for the mod!

      One minor change on the mod description could introduce an opposing argument that it is lore-friendly. Even with the current description, I like to roleplay that this ability transports the trapped soul back from Soul Cairn, subsequently freeing it at the cost of giving up the enchantment that soul empowered an item with.

    This mod introduces and interesting concept and twist on the lore of dealing with souls. I like that it provides a meaningful way to purge enchantments from equipment. I made a compatibility patch for this to work with Enchanting Awakened so that upon learning "Essence Gambit", the perk that replaces Soul Squeezer, you will receive the Soul Release ability.
