i agree to making it look fancier but make it look old wear and tear and all takes the lore away from the scrolls since it is said nothing can harm them and they are enchanted the flow of time therefore becoming stuck in the time they created so they're supposed to look new no matter how old they get
I never knew how much I needed this in my life. It's such an eyesore when Serana is carrying the stupid thing around everywhere. Now it's gorgeous and I'm going to be sad when she doesn't have it! Thanks for sharing this.
Ahh! Thank you so much for this needed retexture. I love all your works! I'm forever a fan. Seeing your creations pop up in my notifications makes my day. ^_^ I look forward to future creations from you.
Thank you for all the texture replacers. They are so good I even got killed once looking at a deadra instead of fighting it xD
And maybe you should update the status of the bug to "not a bug". Some people read the modpage, look for any known bugs AND read a few posts just to make shure the mod dont mess up there heavy modded game :D
I'm so glad to see you carry this over to SSE! I was always using this retexture anyway, and found it odd that there aren't many other retextures of elder scrolls. At least none that I can find.
Glad to see you've been porting more of your retextures to special edition. I didn't really use them on oldrim so the mods really make special edition feel different from oldrim.
This may be true but at least the so-called "Cash Grab" Skyrim doesn't CTD every 20 mins to an hour of gameplay with mods installed. Even without mods, Oldrim aka "real" Skyrim was a crashfest/IFLS-plagued piece of junk. I'll take "Cash Grab" Skyrim any day of the week over Oldrim aka "real" Skyrim period. This is how Skyrim should have been done/released in the first place. Oldrim was a total JOKE given its 4 GB memory cap, HORRIFIC memory management, & other issues. ESPECIALLY that dreaded C++ Runtime Error R6025 - Pure Virtual Call nonsense that never got fixed. I'm running a near-identical load order I had in Oldrim aka "real" Skyrim & don't have near the issues with CTDs/freezes when playing "Cash Grab" Skyrim. That alone should tell one something - "Cash Grab" Skyrim is MILES better than Oldrim aka "real" Skyrim by a long shot period.
- Oldrim is the first and the oldest, so it's OK to call it Oldrim. - Oldrim is a disaster memory wise - SSE could have been better, they could have solved old issues, so cash grap is appropriate.
I was being a bit tongue in cheek, but my "cash grab" comment isn't inappropriate. Bethesda was charging a full AAA price that a new game would have, when SSE is merely a port to a more stable 64-bit engine. To justify charging $60 for the game, they should've done a proper remaster job.
Skyrim's graphics were never cutting edge, even when new. The passage of time has really dated the game. They had the opportunity to go back and redo the textures and meshes, as well as fix the many well know bugs, but they didn't. They spent the minimum amount of resources to make it run on 64-bit and the newer consoles, and called it a day. Despite that, they went ahead and charged the full AAA price of a brand new game. That, can't really be called anything but a "cash grab." The minimum effort for the maximum profit. Hardly what you'd call giving good value to their customers. The fact that PC users who had the game already got it for free doesn't change that fact. The console market is much bigger.
"The fact that PC users who had the game already got it for free doesn't change that fact."
Eh. Kinda does, IMO. People who bought oldrim paid the full price, why should people buying an updated version later not? If the first players had had to pay twice, I would appreciate the complaints, but the way it went down, I don't really see a problem with it. (Or are you saying that console players had to pay twice? If so, ok, that does suck for them, but I think it's the nature of consoles that required that, you can't update a cartridge. But PC players, at least, were treated fairly.)
I would ask if you have said that in November 2011 when the game sold 3.4 millions of copies in two days .. But I know well that "opinion and feeling" of persons change with the time and it happened to the greatest influential spirits of humanity.

Lets get that straight once and for all.

A missed opportunity to say the least.
I hope ( but I doubt ) they've learned from this and from Fallout 4 ( also could have been better, including most of the DLC's )

And they should remember that they are nothing without us.

Nothing to do with opinions, just with basic knowledge
