Built to smooth out the insanely blotchy contrasts of vanilla skyrim, while giving the colors a little extra pop, all while maintaining the intended atmosphere of the game. This uses only the most important shaders to ensure as little performance lost as possible.

Northborn Reshade
I've always taken issue with the insanely high/dark contrasts of the base game. Somehow, I found Skyrim Special Edition to not only to maintain these bad contrasts at close range, most obvious on characters, but it also managed to wash out distant lights with its new volumetric lighting effects. It can be beautiful, but I find it takes away from the experience.This Reshade profile aims to smooth out the contrasts as much as possible given what we have, and without ENB's beautiful sub-surface scattering. Meanwhile I set out to give the world of Skyrim a little extra punch and a pop of color without losing Bethesda's intended atmopshere. All this using as few shaders as possible to insure this profile has as little impact on your performance as possible.
I invite you to check out the few images I've put up and compare the on/off versions. Pay attention to the smoothness of lighting on armors and the environment in general.
INSTALLATION
1. Install RESHADE 3.0.3 if you have not already (Important: Accept downloading example shader library when prompted)
2. Place Northborn.ini in your base skyrim folder.
3. Ingame, hit SHIFT+F2 to open up RESHADE interface
4. Select the Northborn.ini out of the dropdown menu. If unavailable, hit the + and type in Northborn

DISABLING LETTERBOX (BLACK BARS)
1. SHIFT+F2 to open up RESHADE Interface
2. Search for: BORDER
3. Untick the Border box
KEYS
SHIFT + F2 - Toggles Reshade interface on and off
F3 - Toggles Reshade effects on and off
F4 - Toggles Reshade's DOF (Off by default)
