Alright, so everything works great so far. But where the heck is the key for recharging weapons?? I'm fighting Ancano in the college quest and I need to recharge the staff of Magnus, but there is no key for it and RB doesn't work.
Fixed it after fiddling around with the file, seems to work for me now. All I had to do was change one word - see below.
Had the same issue, so looked through the controlmap.txt file that comes with the download. While I don't understand exactly how it works, I found a line under "//Inventory" that lists "ChargeItem" - and lists out "!0,Wait !0,Wait !0,Shout". I assume that means for the keyboard this is mapped to wait (T) and for the controller, recharge is supposed to be mapped to the shout key (RB by default, which is originally shout in normal controller settings), but because now it's RB+Left Stick it doesn't actually work in the menu.
All I did was swap the word "Shout" for "Wait" and resave the file, and now I can use the back/wait key on the controller to recharge weapons. Although I assume if you use another mod which utilizes the back key on a controller in the menu, this will probably overwrite that function. In the case of SkyUI, it is supposed to bring you to the magic menu, but that's not an issue really since you can access that separately.
Otherwise, excellent job on this mod author - I quite like this rebind compared to some of the others I've seen, I don't need the 40+ shortcut keys so a simplistic rebind like this is good to see.
someone anyone please give this idiot aka me assistance... I install Gamepad ++ and this mod, I follow to the letter and grouped the HKs F1 to F8 on the combo LB & RB, but now I cant access the Fav menu nor see the controller option in SKYUI nor does it function as supposed to.
Just tested this and everything is working great. I have never had favorite groups before so this is new and extremely useful since I disabled pausing in menus to make things more difficult and immersive. That means you really need to be prepared before entering a battle. This helps with that a bit allowing quick weapon swaps without using the favorites menu (again, no pause for me).
For those that didn't bother to actually read the mod description, first of all wow... the mod author put a lot of effort into providing you with the information needed and you are just showing that you don't care (though I will admit there is a lot of information there it's still good to know if you want to customize since it may alter or conflict with what the mod is doing).
Here is a summary if you are just having trouble following everything. Again, I highly recommend actually reading through the description. 1. Gamepad++ is available for SE now: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27007 2. Install DWB --> then Gamepad++ --> then THIS MOD (or use Vortex, it doesn't seem to care if they all install together but make sure THIS MOD loads after Gamepad++) 3. Go into DWB MCM menu to change the bind key to LB instead of ''v' or else dual wield blocking will not work 4. Create favorites groups via SkyUI (that is how I did it at least) 5. Go into Gamepad++ and alter the combo keybinds for combo button 2 (F1-F4) & 3 (F5-F8) 6. Profit
If you can't figure out how to set up the favorite groups there is a fantastic video here (unplug your controller temporarily): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSrwmH4_dJM
I use skyui and don't use gamepad ++. This works great. I can dodge with RB, block with LB one handed while casting spells and I didn't even lose any vanilla functionality. Endorsed.

Now start button does not work and may acutally need to reinstall skyrim and hope for the best
EDIT: Nah, I'm too stupid to get this working.
