RUSTIC DRAGON CORPSE adds GORY and CLEAN versions of the dragon skeleton that have separate textures for freshly killed dragons, and old dragon skeletons. Fresh kills are bloody and gory, while the long dead skeletons (or mounted skulls) are the clean version without the fleshy tendons.
Now, you have two options in game, so I hope that satisfies people. I don't want to flog a dead dragon.
Yep, you get more of that rustic stuff. Post your comments, queries, and amusing anecdotes here... Be kind, and be relevant with your comments.
If anyone's trying to precache grass, this will cause repeated crashes and prevent precaching from progressing! The issue is connected to the DLC2DragonBoneNeck mesh. Disabling this mod will allow the caching to progress.
I've been using this mod for years and I love it! However, I see today that Maximum Carnage, another mod I've used for years, has just released an update to version 8, and now it also has dragon gore. My immediate concern is, will it conflict with Rustic Dragon Corpse. Is there a chance this might be? I haven't gotten around to update MC yet, so I don't know what type of dragon gore there might be, but I know it tends to cut off things like half the scull for creatures. How might this fare with RDC that leave an intact skeleton behind after the dragon has been gored by MC, I wonder.
I would very much appreciate if the mod author would share some thoughts on this. I also would like to thank you for making this!
I've installed all of your Rustic mods. I love them so much. This was the first time just downloading and installing them all, but this Rustic Dragon Corpse one won't install. I get an error. I installed my Skyrim directory under C:/Games, and this mod seems to want to force install into the Steam directory (which is not my location of my game). But all the other Rustic mods are correct. I'm not sure how to fix this one so I'll be skipping for now. Thanks!
I'm not sure why that would be. If you look at the preview for the file contents, you will see that the mesh and textures are simply placed in the data folder. There is no drive designation.
I'll extract manually, but Wrye is definitely not happy with the file structure for some reason. :)
This is the error:
FileNotFoundError: [WinError 3] The system cannot find the path specified: 'D:\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Skyrim Special Edition\\Data\\meshes\\actors\\dragon\\character assets\\underskin.nif'
If I repack it..it loads no problem. Very weird. :)
to be honest, in first the mod makes sence, but in second thought it doesn't. if it was just a creature kill, it makes sence. but after the kill, the dragon's getting burned from inside, before dragonborn take the soul. so, if its getting burned, why to still have flesh and blood on the bones?
I personally LOVE this mod because I use Hunterborn with the dragon corpse option on. It makes things much more immersive for me when the dragon corpse I'm field dressing actually looks like it has meat and ingredients to harvest. Who ever said the soul removal has to destroy everything on the vessel?
It's the impurities left behind that aren't absorbed, like the iron in the blood or infections (always a small amount the immune system is fighting). The dragonborn does not eat the tendons on a chicken drumstick.
For anyone who needs this but doesn't already know:
Open console Click unwanted dragon corpse. Type 'disable' and hit enter. The dragon should vanish.
Works on any unwanted bodies. Be very careful, or you'll delete the floor. (It was me, I did that.) If that happens, type 'enable' right away and hit enter. If you lose the reference code by clicking on something else, you need to load a save.
I like the gory skeletons for dragons. They remind me of something else I've always wanted. When you loot a dead animal and take its pelt, the corpse still obviously has a pelt. I would love to see a mod that changes that into a skin that looks like exposed bloody meat. Without a pelt you should see bloody muscle tissue. Have you ever thought about doing something like that?
